Having a page for info would be a great idea! I was wondering if this site had some accompanying wiki but that may be too much to ask for.

each laptop is different. It screws things up badly on my and @TBoneSan 's laptop for example

the worse thing is, the fix involves an NVRAM reset and a complete Windows format

I could do something like install wikimedia platform to subdirectory like clevo.kittys.space and give everyone who wants to access to add stuff but for me....i dont know formatting.

Rebadge? You could probably get a vendor to send you all those stickers =)

If you are willing to put together a wiki that would be a really nice thing! Though it would be nice if there were some common place for this that persists a long time - I don't know... Then you don't have to maintain it forever ;)

I do not think the XTU messed up fans on my P670RS-G. Granted, I still got rid of Clevo CC and XTU because I had no need for them, but I never did an NVRAM reset and my fans are working fine. YMMV of course.

Yes it screws up the fan tabels and nothing short of a full nuke with a CMOS wipe at the same time will fix it. There's every chance it might not happen but it's happened enough times to me and others to avoid the software like the plague.

Xotic just ignores me for everything since asking about missing items in a shipment so I dont really know who to ask because they were my vendor but even then it would go to sager.

(like seriously please pat...a reply to pm from months ago would be GREAT to at least see it was acknowledged because i love you guys but this is just silly)

I debadged to go stealth in public but more people ask me about the system than not so minus well rebadge because the "why does it have no branding" question tires fast.

I know they are stick ons....because ive had past units have letters fall off but yep...totally stuck because I care not for nvidia and intel etc labels just Sager / XMG etc lid and bezel badges

I dont mind maintaining service since its a branch of online portfolio im building so its free to have on server anyways.

How about a wikia like http://barebones.wikia.com/wiki/Barebones_Wiki? Although I never started a wiki before so I have no idea about layouting etc.

Heh, I'll have to see if I get annoying "what notebook is *that*" questions =)

If it were me, I would sass people by putting a Dell logo on there, and tell them it's the new Dell P6XX =D

But the logos do have some down sides. The lettering is raised and can catch when you swap in/out of bags.

Is it possible to install CCC without XTU? I'm just wondering. The only thing I really care about is the keyboard backlight. It would be cool if there was a way to only install those drivers and application.

@J3RRIS - I'm in the same boat with wanting a clevo and shipping to nz - HID do ship to nz and give a quote on checkout. Don't forget to add import duty onto the price. I'm not sure if HID deduct us tax if shipping out of the us.

Another option is metabox in Australia but they don't seem to be partnered with Prema for the bios - they do take off duty for shipping to nz though.

SO I tried the EC 1.05.06TR2 from XMG (15" 1060). Automatic fans runs very quiet, but hot. When gaming, my temps would slowly creep up to 80C when the fans would kick in around 80% of max fans to bring it down to 70C, where it will stay quiet again. It reminds me when I first received my rig.
Overclock fan profile works just like Automatic of previous EC (1.05.04) where the fan curve is OK, not too noisy, and my gaming temp stayed around 73-74C.
OR all of it is f*** coz I'm using XTU and CCC. :p o_O

Just compared HIDevolution and Metabox and I get a $600 (Estimate) difference, and I didn't vcen add the Import Duty onto HIDevolution's price. With my config on Metabox it totals up to $2130 including Delivery (Still awaiting actual quote; this is just from the checkout page). I don't think I will really have a use for the PREMA BIOS so it's not really a huge loss for me. Thanks for letting me know about Metabox! You might have just saved me a lot of money and time since it would take less time to get it delivered here. Thanks! Now all I have to do is pull the trigger...

Yes, you have to install the old version. @Phoenix has it somewhere. I was ok with the blue light so I decided not to use it at all, but on here there is a link: http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/hidevolution-order-evoc-p670rs-g.796511/page-3#post-10377744

Fair warning and excellent public service! :)

I was thinking I might see if I can manually install just the keyboard app. It might be too much of a pain because of things like the registry keys.

That's like a month late from the time Sager gave me 1.05.04 for my model lol, I might try out that EC update though since its newer than what I am running. 1.05.03TR vs 1.05.02TR

XMG is still the only re-seller that publicly publishes their bios.

So for 15" with 1060 we can use 1.05.06TR2 EC? Because in XMG_P507_1060_BIOS_1.05.06TR2_Changelog.txt it says to use the TR1. Also, can you post the new boot screen logo?

I don't know what surprises me the most, running witcher 3 at 4k ultra in a 1070 laptop, or running it at 70C in this unit.

I haven't opened the unit since its supposed to have grizzly compound, which should be pretty good.

How on Earth did you run that? Or how many fps? It'd be great if more people shares their temps with the P650 to compare. Haven't seen a single answer about temps in the last 10-15 pages, besides yours. Which by the way, are mind blowing!

I don't understand why my GPU will hit 2ghz when I'm playing some weak game, but as as soon as I toss on the Witcher it rarely goes above 1700mhz despite being 99% usage and needing the extra power :/

Pretty sure a mobile 1060 is capped at 1700. Anyways, it probably is a thermal thing.

    OK will try
It's a 1070, and it's around 1900-2000 in non demanding games all the time. The weird part is if I raise the over clock it still clocks higher but not near 2k. Thermals aren't an issue it happens even around like 60c or when the game just starts :(

How are the temperatures on the P650RS-G? I just got my alienware 15 R3 and it runs really hot (95c on full load). I have 30 days to return. I'm thinking of picking up the Sagar/EVOC model instead. Is it running cool with the better paste (Coollaboratory Liquid Ultra 100% Metal Thermal Interface on CPU, IC Diamond on GPU -)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've read, the Alienware has a better cooling solution than its Clevo counterpart.

My Sager with only factory ICD runs around 70max on 1070 under high load and CPU is like 60c with 150mv undervolt. Temps certainly won't be a problem with coollabs.

XMG is a brand that builds clevis, same as Sager and Evoc. They are all the same main hardware, just put together by different companies. The BIOS for the Sager with gtx 1060 is the same as the bios for the XMG with 1060.(aside from boot logo)

    1. Get a flashdisk
    2. Get RUFUS
    3. Download https://www.mysn.de/driver/XMG/XMG_P507_P707/BIOS/XMG_P507_1060_BIOS_1.05.06TR2.zip or https://www.mysn.de/driver/XMG/XMG_P507_P707/BIOS/XMG_P507_1070_P707_1060_1070_BIOS_1.05.04.zip, depending on which laptop
    4. Format flashdisk with RUFUS and install FreeDOS
    5. Copy folder in zip to flashdisk
    6. Reboot and enter BIOS
    7. Disable UEFI and boot to flashdisk
    8. cd to BIOS folder and run flash.bat
    9. Reboot to BIOS and re-enable UEFI
No warranties if it bricks or something though.

I literally just ran Witcher 3 from steam. Went to graphics settings and clicked "Ultra" then played the game. I have V-sync on in game and my FPS according to afterburner toggles between 30 and 60, but I actually don't notice this in game.

I also asked about this before. As the GPU approaches max load, it somewhat adjusts to lower clock. Someone explained this is just how it works. Tho I'm not so sure to believe that. Also you'll notice it'll hit Power Limit, check in Afterburner.
Probably just typo. You can also see from their file list that all of them are "BIOS" although half of it are EC.
Yup for us with 1060 15" are now up to date with BIOS, even higher @ 1.05.05. Also EC is a jump from .04 to .06. Hope it fixes the external monitor lag now.

No, just like there's no "notebook" brand laptop from the manual. It's just their generic image that's meant to be replaced by the resellers.
