Really? I was doing it before. It was only grayed out on the stock Sager bios I had.

I mean you should turn it on in BIOS and watch battery percentage in windows tray ;) In previous BIOS versions flexicharge was simply broken. Regardless of its settings battery was always full charging.

I just did this BIOS update and there are 2 things: 1. the SAGER boot image is gone, and now says "Style Note". Boot logo option is not selectable in BIOS.
    2. Not sure if it matters, but the EC now shows 1.05.02 without the "TR1" that used to be there. Is that an issue?

If you disable UEFI in BIOS you can change the boot logo option. But my Win10 wouldn't boot, I think UEFI is locked to my boot loader. Plus the "style note" logo beats the tiny American Megatrends bootup.

On another note, has anyone noticed that the keyboard colors don't save after shutdown (i think it used to, it is still saving on restart) since updating to the newer BIOS and new Clevo Control Center? the saved color profile comes back in windows but not during boot. Isn't it fun to be so nit-picky?

Guys. I am missing flash.bat or there is different way of flashing this new BIOS. I was able also to reproduce CPU load after connecting external monitor.

    which model?

This is the stock non-branded Clevo BIOS. (hence why there is no Sager Branding)

I am getting these directly from Sager. I have a feeling the only way to get these are going to be if you email Sager and ask for them like I did. If you look on their website you will never find bios updates for any of their laptops.(unless you used their site a few years ago) XMG might post this update at a later date, but who wants to wait around for that when we have this now.

"Style Note" is a Clevo thing. (perfectly normal and nothing to fret about, it will not void your warranty) if you want one's that say Sager on them or whatever brand you own, you are on your own. ( I personally don't care about the splash screen since I don't stare at the thing) I figured I would share these with everyone since they are not publicly available and they fix the issues we have been experiencing with these models.

When I got this latest Bios update Sager told me this:

"we could not duplicate the high CPU usage here. That is why I need you to give it a try."

If the TR1 is gone on the EC version (it wasnt for me) feel free to flash that XMG EC again, its totally safe.

Sager is telling me that these BIOS releases should have the latest EC updates in them. (I still use the XMG one myself for their custom fan profile)

Sager told me that the current EC version of NP8153 is 1.05.02.(this applies to all 3 models minus the 15" with 1060) The current EC version of NP8152 is 1.05.04 (this only applies to the 15" with the 1060)

Anyways, I am just trying to do this forum a service by sharing what I found and got myself so you guys don't have to do what I did. This forum did a lot for me when I got my first Sager, so I am just trying to give back.

    P670RS-G,
CPU load on external monitor issue, not backlight bleed, Refresh rate OC to 100hz. Did the trick with the RTSS with framcap limiterr and set G-SYNC on rest off - it seems to working pretty well. But i did not messure input lag.

    Back to the case:
    https://www.msi.com/files/pdf/win8_UEFI_BIOS_Update_auto_en.pdf

can i flash this BIOS like in this tutorial? the one you posted firstly (for 15 n 17).

Just follow my guide that I posted with the link to the BIOS, just make sure that secure boot is disabled in the bios and it should go smoothly, no need to do all that fancy stuff, you just need to format the drive to FAT32, throw the files on there, and disable secure boot and follow the rest of the guide.

Once you are all done, you just need to reset the settings in the bios again to what there were before since all your settings will be wiped after the update.

Sorry, its not as thorough as the one I wrote up, that is directly from Sager themselves, I figured it was straight forward enough. :D

Honestly, this info should all be in the OP so it doesnt get lost in this thread.

In the old days "TR1" would mean something like "test release 1". It was usually a good sign to get beyond that. Maybe this has no relation to that naming scheme.

Got my P650RS a day ago. My experience with XOTIC PC was considerably less than satisfactory but the device seems good so far. The screen (IPS 1920x1080) has a single spot of terribly light bleed. I wish it would've been more spots but less obvious but it is what it is. I'm probably going to keep it because everything else seems ok. I'd be happy to post pictures and provide details if anyone is interested.

Try popping out the bezel clip where the light bleed is. It reduces it for me (though mine is very minor).

I finally received my P650RS-G from HID! I am loving it! I outfitted the beast with a Samsung 950 pro and another 1TB HDD. I feel that I can see why people have issue with this machine since it does have very little light bleed. I can only see them on the bottom corners but very rarely you get to see them. The temps for the unit is pretty good too, I was getting like higher 70c on any demanding game I throw at it! I have been testing this with the newly released Mafia III and it is stunning! The 4K panel is just a great upgrade compared to my 1080p monitors and other laptop... (almost 3x more powerful!). I barely have time to test the monitor issue but once I have an opportunity on getting hold of a projector or monitor I will update this! The version of the Bios: 1.05.03 and EC as 1.05.02 which I assume is the latest one but for the fan noise is not horrible but you can barely hear it. Other than that it is just an amazing laptop! I would recommend it and thanks @hidevolution for the great laptop!

I apparently have gremlins in my machine. Tonight all of the special programs like Discrete and the program that lets you set keyboard light colors seem to have just disappeared. They're not in the system tray and I can't find them installed anywhere.

Where can I download them again?

Go to this site and then download the Control Center!

    http://www.clevo.com/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=P6xxRS&ltype=9&submit=+GO+

Kind of funny too apparently I installed the old version and so I just got the new update...

Well, your current choices are 1080p or 2160p. 1440p is not currently an option with this laptop though I personally would like to see that. I think a 1440p @ 120Hz would be awesome and I noticed there is a 17" Clevo that does offer this option.

And you are right that 1440p resolution on a 2160p monitor will not scale well (that's a 2/3 ratio).

So you have to decide if you are happy with 1080p - I've become addicted to higher resolutions (1440p on my Ultrabook) and I find it hard to go back to 1080p so to me the upgrade was worth it.

I have a very similar config to you and @Galm17 (i.e. with the 4k screen) so I am hoping I will see similar results. Of course I will report back here once I have the unit in hand.

The files are a little lacking compared to the BIOS update of other models. Is it ok to have the "WMeset" copied to this in order to flash? Sorry noob about BIOS flashing.

Yesterday i played farcry 4 maxout and i did not seen any tearing.. or i am blind. Just tell me how to check if its's working i will test it.

Also.. I did not use WMeset .. just restart with SHIFT - go to BIOS and started efi shell file system in exit menu :) I just forgot to used that - while flashing my heart wa beating faster when i realized. All went good. No external monitor issue.

I am curious about keyboard backlight is it possible to boot with my own profile?

It booted with my profile in old bios. Right now it only saved if you restart but don't shutdown. Right now it restores my keyboard profile when clevo control center loads.

Lol, mini flying jets won't do! I can't seem to figure out how to set custom fan profiles. I've set fan start and stop temps but I don't hear the fans spinning to accommodate changes in temp, until it gets really high (80+). With automatic I cap at 75. I wonder is there a way to check fan speeds.
