    (P650RP6-G)

Anyone else getting annoying hissing and whining sounds when headphones are connected to the headphone jack?
It get's better if I use the line-out for sound but it's still present.
What's going on on the screen seems to have an effect on the hiss. Turning off Wifi also changes the tone of the noise

    **Edit:
I may have installed the wrong drivers or sound utility. Creative's X-Fi is only for the RS models. I'll update on the situation later

Guys, There is any diff betweet P65xRS-G and P65XRP6 in dimen and thermal dissipation?? I'm sort of new with Clevo laptops. I'm looking for alternatives to the MSI GS63VR and it seems that Clevo p65xrs/p65xrp6 meets the requirements.

As i told in another forum that we both visit:

BIOS AND DRIVERS are the same for the following models:
    -P670RP6-G
    -P650RS-G
    -P670RS-G

Different BIOS and XFI-5 and not sure what else for P650RP6-G exclusive.

I just got my Sager NP8153-S/Clevo P650RS from XoticPC. It's configured with a 4K screen with G-Sync, GTX1070, the 6700HQ and 32GB RAM. I placed my order last Friday and it got here (East Coast) yesterday, despite the Sager site saying the 4K screen was backordered for a month.

Just wanted to share a few things that were being discussed in this thread, since I had similar questions before I bought it.

The laptop can switch between dGPU and "MSHYBRID" (Optimus equivalent) through a setting in BIOS, or through the control center software plus a reboot. With MSHYBRID on, I get about 3 hours on battery, with dGPU I get about 1.5 hours. This was just browsing at 50% brightness and was an unscientific test. I imagine the 4K screen makes my battery life worse, but it's good to have that Optimus option in any case.

The external HDMI and display ports appear to be hardwired to the dGPU under both modes, according to the PhysX tab on Nvidia Control Panel (see image below). Correct me if there's a better way to check this! This was a concern of mine since I planned to buy either the Rift or Vive and I heard the ports had to directly go through the dGPU. I haven't bought a VR headset yet so I can't confirm but it looks like it will be fine.

I did a 3DMark Performance (1280 x 720) test and got P15258, and the graphics performance score was 21,161, bringing it in line with the MSI 1070 laptops and the Asus GL502VS.

Subjectively, build quality is solid, the heat on the chassis is comfortable even under load and fan noise is not bad.

I was pretty pleased with my purchase, having upgraded from a barely one year old Aorus X5 with 965M SLI that burned my lap and chest, had the power input melted due to heat, 50 minutes of battery life and is held together by duct tape because the screen hinges broke. Definitely will go with Clevo from now on!

the RS is a little thicker and has an additional heat pipe. The cooling is perceivably better in stress testing.

I'm assuming if you select the xmg p507 and choose the gtx 1070 it is the RS version. The p650rp6 only comes with the 1060 and the rs only comes with the 1070. But their website doesn't specifically say. It may be worth sending them an email.

How the hell did that happen? Lucky you, I placed my order last Thursday and won't see my system (according to Larry at LPC DIGITAL) for about another 2 weeks.

Glad you got your machine and I hope you enjoy! Keep us posted!

did you go 4k? Larry said he expected my p650rs-g with 1080p screen to come back from construction by next Thursday and from then it's just 2 days of shipping. Placed my order Monday night, shipped out Tuesday.

Nope 1080. He told me to expect shipment 8/30 or 31. Coming to Alabama and probably held up by weekend and holiday, so the Tuesday after Labor Day seems realistic. Of course I would be ecstatic to see it before then.

Alright so that's pretty much my timeline then. He said shipment on the 1st. must've been something backordered that put our orders on a similar timeline considering you ordered so much sooner.

15" because it fits in most bags and backpacks and stands out less because its smaller. 17" just seems huge to me. If you want the bigger screen size though its still a solid option.

it's really just preference. Cooling is supposedly equal, the 17 inch is a noticeably heavier and bigger. The 17 inch has a subwoofer. I don't think the 15 inch has one. As I recall they are equal thickness. So basically it comes down to whether or not you want a 15 inch screen or 17 inch screen and if it's worth the small premium in price to you.

Edit: basically if you plan on just leaving it one place most of the time, and likely not using it on your lap go 17 inch. If you want something more portable go 15 inch. If it helps. I decided on the 15 inch. It's the most popular screen size for a reason ;)

I was pretty set on P650, but am now leaning towards P670. I may still change my mind - can't order it until October. But as long as you do not need to take it with you every day I think the extra 2" of screen are nice for work/gaming.

+ discretely looking, amazing temps, Bright crisp screen, no bloatware at all, thin, many connections, Metal body. Overclocking gpu/cpu/memory, easy to disable optimus, g-sync, change fan speed while playing game. Control center "software" is very usefull.

    - speakers is just average, touchpad average, but with earphone amazing boost, only White backlit keyboard on my laptop :(

Just get the 15.6", it's more light, more portable, little bit cheaper.
If you need bigger screen, you could always connect it to bigger screen TV/Monitor using HDMI-Out.
The sub-woofer doesn't have big impact anyway, much better to use high quality headphones.
And if you ever need better sound system, you could always connect it to bigger speaker set using Line-Out.
