IDK but it might be wrong. Sager usually knows nothing. They insist that their HDD is a SATA2 and intel 8260 comes with BT4.0

I viewed about 20 and contacted nearly 10 rebrander across the world. From some of them u can know the detailed model of the screen. But that 4K screen I am not quite sure. The database show that LG FHD screen is 60hz. But it turned out to be 75hz.

After playing with my XMG P507 (15inch 1080p, 6700hq, 1060) for a couple of hours, here are some of my impressions:

    - I didnt notice any backlight bleed during normal use, but I did not specifically test for it. Coming from a horrible 768p TN panel, the display is amazing.
Edit: I found a small amount of backlight bleed in the lower left corner, but nothing too worrisome.

    - The screen is quite flimsy.

    - I am not a fan of big overall size relative to the screen and the resulting large bezels.

    - I was able to reach 65Hz on the panel. But this refresh rate was accompanied by a high pitched noise, similar to coil whine, which is why I stuck with 60Hz.

    - My 6700HQ instafroze at -210mV and passed my short stress testing at -200mV. I just set it to -175mV without further tests, which is working fine so far. This reduces the package power in HWmonitor during full load from ~41W to ~27W (discrete mode with igpu deactivated). This is not much work for the CPU fan, which stays pretty quiet even under load. The GPU fans are noticably louder during gaming.

    - The clevo control center does not remember the settings between reboots. :( I will try to reinstall it later.

    - I have not found a detailed description of the different fan profiles anywhere, but the "overclock" profile seems to be a slightly less noisy and therefore hotter running version of the default automatic profile.

    - GTA V on maxed settings with 4x MSAA runs at 55-60 fps, with the GPU being in power or voltage limit about half of the time. On my Enermax CP003-B Aeolus Premium cooling pad and using the overclock fan profile the GPU sits at 70°C, with the fans staying surprisingly quiet. But I only have my old HP pavillion dv6 with an i5-2410m and 6770m to compare, that reached 85°C while sounding like a hair dryer. ;)

Overall I am very happy with my new notebook.

So I'm also tempted by the 4k screen. If you're running a game at 1080p resolution, is it going to look like crap?

Thanks. Do you know what the laptop weighs? kg or lbs. Really tempted to get this but not if it's 6+ lbs. I've been lugging around my old Sager P150m which is like 7 lbs for years and my back be hurtin'.

Just did the math for the lawls and 1920x1080 works out to ~41.85% the pixels of 3840x2160
Still, why they chose UHD to be 100% is beyond me.

Edit: disregard this. I made an error. Derp

? 1080p has 2073600 pixels while 4k has 8294400. 1080p is exactly 25% of 4k pixel count wise. Hence the whole reason a 4K screen can run at 1080p so well etc...

Explains so much! Geez dice can be weird sometimes.

In response to xile because i just saw edit in the quote... I know where to find sager logo but glue sticks you cant just waltz into any store and get those.

I debadged hoping to go with custom paint job from xotic (pink) later but if a badge can be added back over it if its a permanent decal then that would be extra cool. It seems like a decal by some of the older sagers ive seen rebranded as S G R or SAG R or SA ER from falling letters at least and im sure there would be some route to fix a bad badge.

If its part of chassis now though and I cant just buy perma decal off sager well then mission abort!

Haha please post pics if you do that, I've always wanted to see a custom painted P6XX. Mine will be laser engraved with a variant of my pic, which should look pretty good (I hope). I've seen laser engravings already on a P650SG, never a full paint job though.

Also I'm very confused by that math... Pretty sure its 25% unless I'm going crazy.

    Try this, it apparently fixes the CCC so that it remembers settings after reboot;
    http://www.sagernotebook.com/drivers/misc/P750DM2-G/win10/07_Hotkey.exe

It's the 5.0001.0.81 version of CCC

Fyi just contacted Larry this morning at LPC Digital to see if I could get intel 600p 512gb instead of evo 850 in my already order P650RS. He said they have not updated there site yet but he can, he said would let me know sometime today on the specifics. Oh and i've seen the one review and potential issues but i'm faithful that they will perform as advertised once the drivers are sorted out.

Edit: It appears that this drive has a 16gb cache(this has issues after 16gb used up) which is same similar as TurboWrite SLC buffer on 850 evo which is at 6gb so no worries for me.

Thank you. Sadly this version does not seem to offer the overclock and custom fan profiles, only max and auto. Since I prefer the overclock profile, I'll have to wait for another version.

Edit: Another reboot fixed it. Now everything is available in CCC as before. Thanks again.

Well, after one hour of playing Rise of the Tomb Raider with pretty much everything maxed out my Afterburner log read:
    -GPU temperature (mine's a GTX 1060) never exceeded 71ºC
-Core clock went to 1800MHz, stayed pretty much at 1700Mhz all the time. So it was boosting fine, no throttling what so ever
-Highest CPU temperature on all cores was 64ºC, but the average was about 59ºC
-Fans never kicked out max speed

Mine's the P650RP6-G with 6700HQ and GTX 1060. Built and delivered by Obsidian-PC.

Well AW has revealed their lineup. Yuck. They did away with the chassis on my current model that I love so much in favor of a really awful looking design that kind of mixes Aorus with Asus 17 inch series. The keyboard doesn't appear to have changed, and they haven't mentioned anti-ghosting, which is the my main criticism of my current system.

Looks like I'm sticking with my Sager NP8153-S order from LPC Digital....order status was changed to "Customized Build and Testing" phase on 8/31...so I'm hoping it shows up by the end of next week. So pumped!!!!!!

Hey all, I've been following this thread since it started a few weeks ago and appreciate your insight and impressions as you get these laptops. I'm looking at getting a P650RS with a 4k monitor. Xotic PC offers a service where for $79 they'll have "extra cooling copper heatsinks applied to the heatsink/heatpipes." Does anyone have experience with this service or think it will help? The laptop already comes with IC Diamond on the CPU and GPU, but this laptop will probably be used on my lap with a pad underneath it so I'd like to keep the temperature down as much as possible (especially if it runs hot because of the 1070 and it's so thin).

From what I read about that service it sounded like they basically add additional small copper heatsinks to your heat pipes. The downside to this is that while it does help pull heat off the heat pipes, it radiates it into the chassis because there are no fans there to actually blow the hot air away. So while it will pull a bit of heat off your components for a bit, it will basically lead to heat pooling up because there's nothing there to displace it. Whereas the heat pipes would normally transfer the heat to a big copper heatsink and a fan would then blow that heat out of the back of the laptop(or side). Xotic said this themselves in the thread I was reading. Basically it sounds like it may delay the components heating up but then you will likely have higher chassis temps. Maybe someone who's actually gotten the upgrade can elaborate.

Dont waste money on the copper cooling upgrade. There isnt really much space to put them in this specific chassis and its just copper shims you can buy off amazon for $7 and stick on yourself. I had it done to my GE62 and it shaved like 2c...Im going to go hunting for a picture of it to show you

for stock vs. IC/MX4 As they are within 1c of each other.... like magic

Ordered my NP8153-s from LPC Digital on 8/29 and I'm refreshing the page every hour it seems. Says "Sent to Factory for Build" whatever that means xD
Thought I'd try out the ASUS GL502vs and the MSI GT62vr 6RD Dominator to see if I'd rather go with either of those but I think I'll be returning them as the MSI laptop is a bit overpriced, underpowered and a little flimsy, and the ASUS laptop is hot and loud.
I'll try and remember to give my two cents on the Sager compared to the GL502vs as well as the MSI GT62vr when it finally arrives.
Also not a huge fan of ASUS's gamer-centric styling. The thing feels like a solid computer but looks like a toy with the orange accented WASD keys and such. It's also worth noting that it was over $100 more than the Sager machine I configured and the only difference was a 1tb HDD.

Welcome to the club! I'm still in sent to factory for construction too...but I ordered on the 22nd...thanks for sharing your feedback on the other laptops! That was pretty much the same conclusion I was getting from reading other reviews too.

    Hello!

Been lurking for a while as well. Recently been looking for a new laptop due to the new Pascals. Currently I have an MSI GE62 Apache Pro, which I thought would last me for a few years because I thought the 10 Series for laptops won't be coming til 3 years from now. Damn you NVIDIA lol. Anyways, have been looking at my options, and just like applehusky's post above me, I was looking at the same models he just listed. However, I'm now looking more and more into getting the NP8153-S as well, which will be my very first Clevo.

My dilemma, however, is: should I wait for the 120Hz G-Sync options to come out from the resellers (only really have ReflexNotebooks because I live in Canada)? From scouring through different threads it seems the wait would be around 4-6 weeks for the 120Hz display options to be available. Although, at the moment I am really tempted to just order the NP1853-S already....

Well I got my P650RS-G today, but I've been too busy to do much more than get windows installed, drivers and updates.

Initial impressions : looks great, very professional, I could certainly take this into meetings. So far it's absolutely silent (but I've not done anything demanding).

screen (4k model) is beautiful, and DOES support GSYNC. 60hz

The colour changing keyboard is a fun toy to play with, but distracting after a while, I'll probably pick a soothing colour and leave it on that. However if there's a way to get it to interact with games, like to flash when you take damage, then please let me know.

Once I get a bit of time I'll play some games at 4k, 1400p and 1080p and let you know some results. I have the gtx 1070.

15" notebooks aren't getting the 120hz screens anytime soon for Clevo.

Display port is probably your best bet. If your monitor doesn't support that go HDMI.
