Thank you good sir! I'll definitely check those out and order some for the future :). I just stripped a little black one on the 5 slot for the CPU. I went to the store and bought some vice grips and used a small flathead to get it out, whew. I think clevo do this just to mess with us, there's no reason for these screws to be in there that tight!

By the way, my 4820k is getting around 10,000 PhysX score in 3dmark 11. Is this normal? from what I've read it seems low?

That 3DMark11 physics score seems about right, assuming you ran at stock clocks.

Don't worry about that dimple, that's what the thermal paste is for.

The imperfections matter less over such a large contact area, also it's not directly over core there.

The best way to see the throttling is to fire up Valley and let it run. It seems to kick in over time, independent of temperature like its suddenly using more watts for the same frequencies and hitting the power limit. Who knows. It is weird and not totally predictable except with fire strike extreme and Valley.

Is that CLU? I'm so weary to mess with that stuff again after the near disaster removing it.

It think I'll buy one of the last ones at XOTIC PC.
My main concern would be finding replacements, or new parts for upgrades.
Would those be easy to find?

Hardware parts should be pretty easy to find if you want to upgrade down the road since there really isn't anything proprietary in these.

Do not EVER buy from Malibal, EVER.

I think Mythlogic is about the only option left that doesn't price gouge (too much anyway) and is reliable.

    What's the problem with Malibal?

I can get the exact same product with them, at a slight cheaper price - if not actually considerably cheaper since they're giving me a Matte Display, whereas, in order to keep a somewhat similar price with Mythlogic (yet still slightly higher), I have to choose the Glossy Display.

Back when they still had a presence on these forums, they threatened legal action against anybody who said anything bad about them. Then there was an incident where Malibal locked someone's account for "complaining too much", and I'm not talking about a forum account, I mean the actual account used to setup and purchase the laptop. Then there's just the general bad attitude and animosity toward NBR members.

I could go on but I think that's enough to drive the point home. I guess in this case it really is you get what you pay for.

This is why it's best to wait for an actual announcement instead of getting in contact with randoms from Clevo. Not everyone in a company will know what's going on. Once there is confirmed information I'm sure all the resellers will be posting it to share.

To Clevo make such official announcements when they release new models? I thought the re-sellers just update their sales page accordingly.

    Oh... god dammit.
Either I buy the P570WM now and they release a new product for this line, or I wait for an announcement for a new product, they release nothing and I end up with nothing.
Meh... I guess I'll just buy the P570WM and be happy with it.

Just wait until the end of the year, and see what happens? That's, what I intend to do. With the nvidia 900 series ready for release soon, it's a matter of time before Clevo release some sort of roadmap just like they did last year. Back then it was just the 800 series to accommodate for, not any CPU updates (I think). Hopefully, this time around we an official update for the P570WM/3 system.

It's not Clevo that will make the announcement, they will sometimes do a press release but most of the time they just update the machine to their catalog. They'll update their customers (Eurocom, Sager, etc...) and they'll in turn update their resellers about upcoming products. Once the NDA on those products lapse all will share the information as to what's coming out. Trying to get information before all that happens will lead to a lot of speculation, misinformation, and upset customers as a result. Once information is confirmed and available it will do none of us any good to delay getting that information disseminated to all of you. I do understand there are some out there trying to decide between buying now vs down the road with a new product but if the current offering is available and does what you want it to do, why take the risk of nothing being available later and having nothing in turn? If the current offering doesn't do what you want it to do then you'd have no choice but to wait for that next product announcement when it comes.

All comes down to deciding, is the 9570 good enough for your needs or do you in fact need to wait for the next thing. There will always be new products coming out with new features and offerings.

    Thanks for that Derek.

I've got a budget of £5000 to purchase on the top of the range laptop gaming system. It might not make a difference right now, but maybe an 8 core CPU will benefit me in the long run as game requirement advances, and I also play emulation games too which, are CPU hungry. According to the rumours how the 980M just about outperforms 780M SLI, it's too tempting not to wait.

I've a feeling there will be a successor, and when all the Clevo refreshs are announced we'll also be delighted to know there will be a P570WM/3 part 2. They did it like this last year.

Then you'd be one of those that has decided to wait, as a result we just have to wait for the powers that be to adopt the new model, develop it for offering, and then when that is all completed and the unit is ready for sale we'll have the information to share that will allow you to make that purchase. As evidenced above in the Clevo emails, trying to get more information now is just going to lead to confusion as there likely isn't concrete information available from the people you're going to find responding to your email inquiries at Clevo.

Well, it's done. I've officially bought the P570WM from Mythlogic.
Though, I'm not sure if I've actually finished the paying process, since I chose to pay via PayPal, and I haven't received any e-mail nor did I get to PayPal's payment screen.
The status for the order says "Processing" so I'm not sure if they'll eventually send me a link to finish the payment process, or if they expect me to do something else.

Either way, technically, I've already bought one. Hopefully, I won't be having any problems.

well theres a chance it'll come up with x99 mobo cause it takes time to design a new motherboard that will work with ddr3 sodimm, along with bunch of otherstuff.

if there isn't one its not like end of the road there are other decent replacement out there.

    Congrats on the order.
You should give them a call to make sure everything has gone through properly. Most sites outside of eBay are not as strait forward and may require a couple extra clicks like selecting "return to merchant" before the order is actually submitted.

money can make things work, i mean if skylake/broadwell none E will support both ddr3 and 4 i dont see why it couldnt be done, unless some hard physical limitation/ restriction.

sacrifice portability for performance S9T, or try for alienware 18 when broadwell gets released

The S9T is a desktop with built-in triple display.
and the AW18 have mobile CPU.

    not the same.
