I would think 3k would scale nicely for the 17 inch models.

780m SLI wouldn't be like a Titan. Desktop 680 cards in SLI is near the Titan but the 780m won't be reaching that power.

Edit: Just noticed the linked info. The results that site lists aren't too accurate it seems.

    Passmark results

Passmark isn't the best benchmarking but it shows the difference nicely. 780m is roughly half the perfromance as the desktop 780.

You hold a phone display much closer to your face than a notebook display.

Desktop GTX 680 SLi is about as fast as GTX 690. (average result of many reviews)

A GTX Titan ist about 15 to 20% slower than a GTX 690. (average result of many reviews)

Notebook GTX 780M und desktop GTX 690 has the same GK104 GPUs with 1536 shader and 256Bit memory interface, only the GTX 780M has ~16% lower GPU and ~17% lower VRAM clocks.
    (GTX 780M SLi @ 771/Boost/2500MHz vs GTX 690 @ 915/Boost/3000MHz)

So if desktop GTX Titan and notebook GTX 780M SLi are about ~17% slower than GTX 690 why seems the results list not accurate?

Yes, i mean its a example for overkill, FullHD @ 5" display.

i'll wait for 880m or next gen amd mobility graphics. AMD looks promising right now.. in desktop segment i'll see what they have for mobile next lol.

if nvidia doesnt make something new that 880m is gonna have a hard time find ways to cool in a laptop, that 780m is already 122watt tdp? 880m for 140? lol

Reading as 16x 1.1 here, we obviously still need some prema magic (when do we really not I suppose). If you read this prema and need a rip of the file I can sort that out for you.

Not seeing any throttle at 3.9ghz

Which cpu temperatures do you get in 3DMark11 with 4930K? Is the Ivy-Bridge-E cpu significantly cooler than a 3930K or 3960X?

Well running the XTU stress test I am getting 90ish at 4.1ghz all cores loaded after 5 minutes. Voltage is 1.292V.

All I did was repaste with IC diamond.

Let's hope PREMA will unlock voltage control fir the CPU and makes PCI-E 3.0 available) 1.3v is probably too much for 4.1Ghz overclock. Did you check your power draw while heavily overclocked both CPU + GPU, Meaker?

I have the files since quiet some time, though I haven't started work on the Mod yet...

You guys could check these things out which where not working on old stock BIOS (fixed in the Mod).

    PCIe limited to 1.1
OC not working on certain CPU models
Turbo on Xenon CPUs not working at all
    RAM speed limited to 1600Mhz
TDP value changes via XTU have no real effect (verify with TS)

only 16gb, looking for 32gb running at 1866mhz though, although I think it should be possible with prema's bios mod. any idea?

@SFVgot nice xtu photos btw, temp seems to be better than 3960x or 70x but 90C still a bit hot imo. if just turbo boost 3.6ghz have no problem though for anyone doesn't OC this machine would be nice to have. gonna need to under volt the cpu to 1.2v or 1.25v

    Hi everybody,
I have XMG U702 with this config:
    i7 3930k
    8GB RAM
    dual 7970m
    BIOS version 1.02.05
    EC version 1.02.04

but when it boots up it shows this line:
American Megatrend Version 2.15.1227 - what is this ?

Is there any way to back-up the stock BIOS image ? or is there a link with the original stock/default BIOS image ?

Did anyone get the P570WM without the SLI? Does getting this machine without the SLI make any sense?

I am just debating if the extra 775 bucks is worth the extra video card...

It makes sense if you want the better cooling, or want to get a dual GPU system but don't have the cash upfront for the second GPU allowing you to add it in later.

You can flash the current Prema Mod for this model as long as your system is not already running on BIOS/EC 1.03.0x with IV-E CPU.
In that case you'll have to wait for the new Mod, which is currently in beta.

The stock bios has been improved a lot so you are not crippled without the prema bios at least. The big difference is the PCI-E to 2.0 which I still don't understand why its been pegged at 1.0 in the normal bios.

The normal BIOS works only with IV-E correctly, Xeon and SB-E CPUs have same old issues, no Turbo and broken OC... :(

Anyway we have tester with all kind of CPUs and it'll be all fixed in the Mod. :)
