Until you really start to push the system, you likely won't see the difference between the XM and ES/QS versions on that particular processor. There is no question that they typically do run at less performance than the end product but as long as it's working for you I wouldn't worry too much about it especially if you had it at a good price.

Guess what, i received my Crucial Msata SSD today, togther with 2x16GB Kits corsair Vengeance 1600 Mhz
After having problems with windows installer, like BSOD, i did a Memtest boot cd, and a pair of memory modules seems to be with problems, i got red messages on screen.
    How about that ?
How often does it happens that a new ram has problems such as these ?

After i removed the faulty modules, i could install windows.

RAM tends to be the breaking point in a lot of builds. There is no way to determine it'll work in your system until you try it. Even going from one stick to another in the same brand and type, one may work with the system and the other won't. If you want to see if the RAM itself is bad, you can try throwing it in a different machine and see what happens, but more than likely you'll be doing a return on them.

It seems the laptop has some built in bluetooth module. I have personaly as of now no wirelesss card inside, and yet there is bluetooth. I thought rhe motherboard had no bluetooth, and I was thinking of getting a killer wireless 1202, that mimox2 and bluetooth, but since the laptop allready has bluetooth, I think ill be gettin the 1103 model instead, that's 3xmimo no bluetooth

Got mine this morning and wow, what a beast of a machine in just about every way. The thing is massive!!
Had a network controller issue after I installed some antivirus but it's sorted now and for now I am really digging this machine. Now I know why there are so many Sager lovers out there.

There shouldn't be bluetooth on the motherboard. Have you physically removed the wireless module from the board? I think you may have the stock wireless instead of an upgrade.

Do you think I will encounter heat issues if I opt for a single 7970m config instead of xfire since there will only be one fan?

Any way you can do a 3dmark Vantage performance benchmark for me to see what that 3920xm will mark at?

I would greatly appreciate it as it may be a deciding factor for me to upgrade. Although right now this 3630qm is as good as people have been trying to tell me. More than powerful enough for what I'm doing.

Has anyone else noticed that Sager doesn't have the drivers on the website? Nvidia won't let me use their drivers and Nvidia's GPU detector just tells me that I need to download drivers from the manufacturer's website. Where can I download drivers for this laptop? I've googled my heart out and I can't seem to find a website that has the drivers.

What's your graphic card setup first off?

All the drivers you need are on the disc that came with it, just skip the video drivers on the disc for the newest one off the site.

I guess you have 680m(s) so make sure you are choosing the 600m series when using the scroll down menu on the nvidia driver site and the pick 680m in the next one..

Just get the driver manually if you can't auto-detect.

Having internet access on another computer is how I had the driver ready on a USB for that stage of driver installation to keep the proper order.

Maybe try and clean install by wiping whatever video driver you have now and then install the 306.97 drivers from the site.

    Hope that helps,
    A.

Hey when you go to start the performance test, go to custom setting and leave everything on the performance presets but uncheck the Disable PPU box and run the test again if you don't mind.

It's the PhysX option and your score will be higher and moer accurate :)

Thank a bunch, really helping me out.

If I can be of any assistance whatsoever to you as well please ask.

Heres my 3Dmark 11 performance score.

Both 3dmark vantage/11 benchmarks were stock scores, no overclocking.

TimeLord84, what can you tell about the sound through the speakers and headphones? Does it sound good enough? I heard that P170E had a terrible sound through speakers, and even with connected headphones.

You know at first I noticed that the sound quality seemed a little sub-par but I used the Creative SoundBlaster software and used some EQ and now it sounds spectacular.

As for headphones I've used the only ones I have and they are the iPod type. They sound fine but they aren't exactly a HQ audio output.

The speakers on the system are good, and if the sound is important to you then you will most likely head straight to the EQ right away. Once you tinker a bit in there I guarantee you will be happy.

I just got these max temps of 80C/92C on GPU1/GPU2.. Should I be worried? These are non overclock temps.

92C is a bit high, 80C as your other GPU is set at is perfect. I'd consider redoing the thermal paste on it.

Thanks Hutsady! I decided to go with pretty much everything I wanted. Was going to buy it from XoticPC but it was a little more expensive. :-( Sorry.

Do you know where I can find a high capacity battery to help increase battery life?

    Thanks again for your reply.

You're very welcome. Of course we'd like it if i you did get it from us, but no matter where you did get it from you'll still get a good machine.
I dont know of any higher capacity batteries for any Sage models. You can just get a second identical one for a spare or bring your AC Adapter if you'll have a place to plug it in.
Once you get it let us know your thoughts.

Controls from the headset work with winamp too, pause forward, etc.
It downloaded drivers from the windows update for bluetooth mono, stereo, and remote control, probably a2dp profile

Hey there P370EM + 7970M CF owners... Could you tell if you experience some issues with AMD drivers and what are the temps after soem game sesions? Did anyone try to OC the cards? 40k GPU in Vanatge seems very real with a slight bump to 950/1400 in clocks)

Also, do we have somebody with 16gb 1866Mhz RAM? Just curious if it work as advertised than 16gb 2133Mhz should work the same way!

    Thanks

Guys can you, please share your idle temps? My unit has single 7970M(Eurocom Scorpius) and my idle is in between 40-56C. I guess its bios cooling policy. Temps goes up to 56C and then fan kicks in and lower temps to 40C. Do you have the same? Load temps never go beyond 74C for GPU.(Furmark 5 min.)

Hmm what are the part numbers and where did you get the laptop, the P370's have part specific 7970m in them. You can't take a P370 7970 and put it in a P150/170 bad times will ensue.

So if you have odd behavior sounds like someone messed something up.

    Hello Myth,
I have Clevo P370EM based laptop with single 7970M.I am facing the strange issue with idle temps of GPU. At idle fan seems to shut itself off till GPU reaches 56C. Then it turns on and lowers the temps till 40C and shuts off again. Is that the vbios or bios issue? Your NYX (P370EM) laptops doing the same?
    Thanks for any help!

Yeah I would like to know this aswell. Have been waiting for the 120Hz screen, before I can make a purchase.

After heat issue , just shutting down was one of the things I was told to watch for if running np9370 full out with dual video cards
    and using one power supply.

That sounds like a BIOS/EC issue. The vBIOS honestly has 0 to do with when the fan turns on. We haven't seen any specific fan oddity like that on ours, but I don't think thats an issue with a card specifically thats an EC fan table issue.

As soon as Clevo starts shipping some we will have the 120Hz up, but we don't have an ETA yet. We are encouraged however that it now appears on their list of models (P370EM3) so thats always a good thing.
