I actually have the Alienware Orion backpack and pull my NP9280 out of it. Throws people for a loop cuz they're expecting shiny alienware and they get business model dinosaur =P. I WILL recommend the Orion backpack however, it is quite big, has a huge number of pockets, is sturdy, protects from a bit of water (if you get caught a little in the rain, the inside will be dry. I have NOT tested say... under a hose or something though), the shield is really sturdy and things don't get crushed in there often. I have carried napkin-wrapped sandwiches in the smaller main compartment and my laptop + psu + headset + controller + mouse in the main pocket and it has come out uncrushed more than once.

The shoulder straps start to fray after a couple years though, however it's mainly a cosmetic issue as they're still very strong. The side net pockets are strong enough to hold 1.5L plastic water bottles too, even walking around for over an hour straight with them in the side net pocket.

Shoutout to prema you rock thanks for the updated bios. Mine hangs a little now on startup I have the 9370 3d model. I can't wait for cpu overclocks from your bios. Here is a screenshot of my newest 3dmark 11 benchmark my cpu never got above 70c and my gpu's where around 65c. 3dmark 11 overclocked.jpg

You should consider to rebuild your RAID at one point to get rid of the startup lag...sweet bench btw. :)

I've been wanting to buy the 9370, but I've been waiting for the price to go down. I was hoping this would happen when the Winter Savings changed to the Spring Savings, but that has now happened and all they did was change the background of the ad to some flowers and it's still the $50 off and the base price is also still the same. Do you think there's any use waiting 'til April 1st to see if this finally happens, or should I just order now?

The prices from most of these people are very very good at a base, I highly doubt the base price will drop very much as the components are still relatively expensive. If you can already afford it, I say buy it now. You won't see any massive drop in price anytime soon.

Yea I reallly like it but i just dont feel right with all the AW branding lol. The best choice i've seen so far is the Slappa Kiken.

    Any other alternatives?

I can't personally give you any other alternative nor can I compare my AW bag to any other; I've only owned the one. I just can say it's a good backpack. Useful for a lot of other things too. If you don't want it that's cool, I'm not biased to your bag or anything, I just can't personally recommend anything I have not used myself. For example I can safely say plantronics gamecom 377 headsets are absolute garbage and a waste of money. Can't say a thing about the gamecom 777, 380 or 780 as I've never used one of those.

Good luck on your bag hunt! Though this is possibly not the best forum to find it in; I think the accessories forum is a good place to ask. But either way good luck!

Don't get me wrong i definitely appreciate the input and advice, I was just wondering if anyone else had any other experiences. I resorted to going over to the AW side of the forums on their m18x bag/sleeve/backpack thread to find what they used, I just wanted to see if anyone with my exact laptop had any alternatives that weren't listed on there (it is a 18" laptop after all).

In the german hardwareluxxforum there is a thread where vsss (vss there) shows the progress:

Yeah, like the others mentioned the price isn't likely to shift too much for a few months. The prices may drop a little when the next gen models get announced and we're all trying to switch over but that's going to be a few months more yet.

Ya, I did notice that, but I didn't see any price change, or different deals (still $50 off). But since it switched to Spring Savings without any changes now I'm really not expecting it to change soon. Plus everyone's comments here...

    I think I'll order tomorrow!! woohoo :D

i have another question... does the BIOS on np9370 support overclocking ?
i was thinking of upgrading to 3740qm due to its minore overclocking capabilities but only if it can be overclocked on this system...i don't want to spend 170$ for no reason.
it would be great if you could tell me if the BIOS supports changing the multipliers for 3740qm or the use of INTEL EXTREME TUNING UTILITY to overclock 3740qm on this system...

I have an P370EM whit a 3920XM and a GTX680SLI on standart clock. The power for gaming is insane and oc potenzial is there, but this notebook is realy "hot". Whit Prime i have 100-105°C on the CPU and Idle 55°C and i would like to bring temps more down. Did anyone have experience whit small modding for better Temps on GPU and CPU?

Yup, no BIOS update required for doing so. Just get Intel XTU on the system and you can get that done.

Thanks :) I will just be getting the base config + intel 6235, and Ill work on upgrading things over the coming months and years. I'm also thinking about getting the two way Canada shipping, because I know these things (gaming laptops, not just Sager's hehe) tend to have problems.

What about dead pixel insurance? That kinda feels like dishing out $50 for something that should be quality checked anyway...arggg But apparently you have to pay extra to not get a defective product. [/passive aggressive]

Anyone ever figure out how to get decent sound out of headphones from the 9370? I'm slowly starting to become bothered by the fact that my phone produces better sound than my laptop does when it comes to headphone usage haha.

I played around the the EQ settings in Foobar and still couldn't quite get it right. Bass always sounds a bit off, voices sound about the same... only thing I managed to sort of get right is the treble. Of course with that said, balancing treble requires balancing bass and mid-range as well, so that's probably also a bit off by comparison to where it'll probably need to be if I ever fix this.

I've been using Foobar, but I'm willing to try others if need be. Originally I only always used Foobar because it's extremely light weight. But given that nothing I do even uses 50% of my available resources, I don't mind using something heavier if necessary.

Oh, and HOWDY! I've been silent for a while, but I still lurk here almost daily ^_^

Prime and furmark results are nice and all, but you should more care about gaming temps.

It's like worrying about the fuel efficiency of car going at it's maximum speed rather than 30-70mph.

Hey guys, after 6 months of ownership p370em with cfx 7970m i can say I have never been happier with its performance - cool , stable and great over clocks - rather than repeat myself , check out the thread below. A 12k 3dmark score for 7970m cfx is awesome I think, with card 2 no higher than 82 after hours of testing. I know 680m has even more headroom but the gap has just shrank a lot.

    WiDi requirements

has less to do with the 9370 and more to do with the CPU/wi-NIC you choose.

I have not because the 8170 does not have Intel HD Graphics so it is non-WiDi capable. I had tried in the past and it did not work because I didn't quite understand the hardware requirements.

I think I got my answer, basically the 9370 does not have integrated Intel HD Graphics so hence it cannot meet the hardware requirements to support WiDi.

Who is on Win8 x64? What a steaming pile of.....

1.None of my external drives will be recognized. I think this stems from the USB 3.0 controller issue, seeing as W8 has its own stack, but has anyone else seen this issue?

    2. USB 3.0, just so many problems. Even installed modified drivers and I was able to get one of my drives to show up for a split second. Worked fine on W7, I just don't see what the issue is...permissions?

Haha those are kinda the same problems....but I backed everything up with the assumption it would be a smooth transition (which it should be!) and im stuck without any music, games, movies....pretty much the only thing I use this for.

Am I missing something? I feel so foolish but I have spent ALL day trying to get my drives to be recognized.

Actually, it does. The graphics should be on the CPU itself, so they ALL have it. It's just not selectable by you I believe. But either way, that sucks that it must be used with an intel integrated graphics chip.

Also, did anyone read through the list of the chips supported? So many are missing o_O.

pretty sure your post indicates the answer to that question is a resounding 'yes.' if your only issues are well known both in the most current iteration of windows and earlier, that'd seem to me pretty smooth.

can any p370/np9370 owners confirm that WiDi does not work? i don't think the utility software will recognize the HD graphics (because it's completely inactive/disabled) and will therefore fail installation.
