I think the extra pricing is more labour costs than anything else; as they DO buy a barebones from Clevo (comes with screen and basic CPU etc) then they replace the components that you need if you need a non-standard-configuration item. But that's just my guess. As for the wireless card, it's random if it works or not according to most everyone.

Nice temps TimeLord.

Well that's fantastic and all, but I still wanna know your ambient temps. Either way... Mythloooogicccccc! Will you do this for me? <3?

Quadro Card.
has anyone seen a review ? or does anyone have the 9370 with the K5000m Quadro card in it. I have seen some really nice reviews with the the other graphics cards but nothing with the Quadro ? I am seriously thinking about this laptop. but that seems a big upgrade without at least a review. I need the quadro for some of the software I run. and have experience with the k2000 on the lenovo. which is ok.
Thanks for any input. -
According to the benchmarks and specifications posted here, the K5000M should be quite good. I wouldn't worry about getting it too much.
-
Idk about the quadro in the np9370 but we've purchased a Dell Precision m6700 for work with a quadro k5m in it (primary selling point along w IPS display) and i must say it's a workhorse! absolutely decimates image / video rendering times and processing speed, i believe due to faster memory speed, but the 680m is better suited for gaming and all around daily purposes due to higher core clock and shader clock.
Imo if you're building a gaming setup i'd opt for gtx 680m / amd 7970 as opposed to building a workstation replacement for video editing / 3d animation etc etc, in which case i'd say k5m all the way. -
Did you guys see Clydes benchmark on a single K5M with a modded vBIOS here. 9322 graphic score in 3DM11
I wouldn't worry about it being slower than a 680M... -
thanks for the feed back folks. I knew this was the right place to ask that question. really felt like i needed just a little more info to pull the trigger and all your advice was good. it was nice to see some actual scores. Ill be sure to post the benchmarks for the box i end up with.
Be Well. -
They are ripping people off because screens is niche market. Labor cost the same to install one part vs another. HP charges $600 for their DreamColor2 display which is the best screen for a laptop and i check prices and it is $165 for it(about $65 more than the standard). I think I was charge $250 for the RGBLED one from Dell. I know how to replace screens so I will do my own upgrades w/ future laptops.
Anybody have the crossfire 7970 w/ their sager? Which driver are you using. I just upgraded to latest driver and there artifacts on my screen. Damn AMD drivers suck. -
I am searching for a tester who uses Win8 for my BIOS mod for this system, just to make sure the BIOS logo looks correct.
Just PM me with your email and let me know if you have the 3D or stock system. -
I've been waiting for the price to go down for a while now. Does anyone think this will happen when the winter sale becomes the spring sale? (hopefully in a week or two ;-) ) It's about $150 over my budget right now, including the $50 off.

Hey All,
Pulled the trigger on my new Mythlogic NYX3712 about a week ago thanks to reading this site Mythlogics patience. I know I got another week or so but got quite the itch from the wait so decided to join the forum for some questions. If anyone has a Mythlogic or has the experience with them, where do I go from here after I get my new toy? I already have a steam account & already have a few games which I can't wait to play. Any recommendations regarding tuning my laptop for the better?

Lastly, congrats! You made a really nice build there =D. -
Thanks for your input D2. I took a gander of the issues you were talking about & am very surprised about this. Will need to check on this.
-
I have the Bigfoot wireless 1202 and I seem to be one of the lucky ones because I haven't had any problems with connections what so ever. I know they use to have problems with windows 8 when it first came out because of drivers but that has since been fixed. Not sure if their are to many problems with them anymore but still something to look into.

question here...what thickness is the p370em master vga's thermal pad? (vram/choke/mosfet?)
-
For some reason Windows halts the performance of these cards in the power management setting in the device manager device properties area, in the power management tab. There is a checkbox for something like "let Windows limit the power based on usage" or something really similar. Uncheck that box and voila. Not even a restart is required and the card is at the expected performance.
I love my 1103 but it's still a personal choice. I get disconnected when playing online once in a while but I can't be sure why.
Good luck and nice build by the way. -
I've followed some of the tips listed on here to increase cooling and this is what i've gotten so far;
This is with IC Diamond Repaste on CPU & GPU and Foil tape between fans and copper fins.
Before After ~20 mins @84C
After ~20 mins @ 75C
I've yet to try Timelord's backplate mod but so far so good.

Just awesome
Lower temperatures = longer life. I just might open my laptop and redo the shims on the graphics cards to something a little better just to see how it turns out, but it's definitely not a necessity. -
Thanks steepgnomeking & timelord84. I've always wanted to try the killer based on the features I read & playing around with my friend's laptop. Mythlogic adding it as a freebie made it all the better. I will have a discussion with their support & make my decision then. I've been browsing through Steam & found a lot of games I want to play but this laptop purchase is punching my wallet in the nuts so I'm going to have to be grit my teeth for awhile
-
Don't worry, our lord and master GabeN (who is incapable of counting to three) will grant us the heavenly steam sales of goodness multiple times a year.
-
Nice build you got. But any chance to go Dual GTX 680M would be better IMO -
-
Those temperatures looks great TimeLord84. I have to mod my rig too.... Im going to repaste and do some foil mod. But im particulary interested in that guitar pick mod, that you just pulled Where did you find out about that? Does it depends on thickness of guitar pick? -
Hi guys,
Im at a big trouble, i think my clevo p370em has die!
Maybe It is my fault, i updated the bios
I have follow the update bios instruction that have to update ec first.....after update ec firmware and restart success i do flash the bios and succeed too but then i change about UEFI and OS Select option on the bios to "Windows 8".....save it and the problem occur, my screen is blank, no fan(s) activity from gpu and cpu just blank screen ......
What should i do? I really really stress here
Sorry for not best at my english -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Try removing the CMOS battery and AC/main battery for a few minutes.
-
Edit :
There is a connector from battery to motherboard can i just disconnect the connector to reset cmos? -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Yes under the keyboard, it can be a bit stiff so be careful, leave it out for a few minutes and then put it back in.
-
I feel i want to scream , so depresed -
Meaker@Sager Company Representative
If you can boot into the bios you have not bricked it.
-
Sorry for my expression feeling here -
Support.3@XOTIC PC Company Representative
Sounds like it is bricked since its not doing anything. You'll want to contact your reseller to get it fixed. It wont be covered under warranty but at least you'll be able to use your computer again.

Meaker@Sager Company Representative
Cool, I had not seen your P1XXem mods, thanks for releasing what you could.
-
thx a lot !!! .... what a relief, but i already bring my laptop to the reseller, should i take it back and do by my self?
if yes so from that tutorial seems like i take second step, am i right? since reset/disconnect battery doesnt solve problem
so i just download that "rom" file for my P370EM and press "fn+b"?
anyway thx again u give me hope
Edit:
sorry for a bit annoying but why i cant download bios rom file from that link above? -
I recently reinstalled Windows 7 and have just for the first time today tried to use the FN+1 button combination to boost my fans to high, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. Is there a specific driver that controls this function or anything else I can check to see what may be causing this?
edit: I have a Sager Brand NP9370, not a Clevo. I have Sager bios, (on that note, are there any bios updates), and dual 7970m video cards if that's relevant.
edit2: Nevermind... after another reboot (of course I'd already tried that a few times), the Fn+1 button combo is working again. -
If it's already at your re-seller then leave it there, if it's a total brick recovery won't work... -
-
^^^ d**k - Guys first post and your flaming him for a common mistake

I'm very aware that Sager's NP9370 is built on Clevo P370EM barebones, D2 Ultima. I simply meant to make it clear that the machine I am using is a Sager branded laptop in case there were any other changes of which I wasn't aware. The fact that this was my first post on these forums means nothing, except that I haven't had anything come up with any machine I've had in the past that I haven't been able to solve on my own. I'm a lurker, not a frequent poster, and not a noob. I'm sorry if you were flamed when you were young and feel obligated to continue the cycle, or if someone crapped in your breakfast this morning and ruined your day, or if you get picked on in real life, so you decide to lash out at anyone who says even the slightest thing out of line on the internet to make yourself feel important, but that's your problem not mine.
Now, to everyone else, sorry if my original post makes it appear that I don't know that a Sager NP9370 is a customized machine built on a Clevo P370EM barebones. I wouldn't want to go upsetting anyone to the point of pulling an Ultima. -

Does anyone have any recommendations for a laptop bag? I've seen some mixed reviews of slappa's and some of the designs look a big... odd lol, but it seems the majority are book bags, and not briefcase/messenger bags which is what im looking for. The one that came with the bag fits perfectly but i find myself needing a bit more room from time to time as i like to carry a small "laptop survival kit" lol (screwdriver, mf cloth, tiny flash light etc etc.) and now they're all just flopping in with the psu and the mouse.
I did find alienware ones but those all come with some ridiculous camo and wild designs and AW logo... (pulling a sager out of an AW logo just doesn't sound right to me lol)
any help? -
Your laptop didn't come with one?
-
yea it did,

Prema Mod BIOS now available for this model.
ENJOY! :hi2:
