Personally I think the core clocks are good enough for the 680M, the memory is the real problem. If I could give it a solid 200Mhz memory OC and barely have that touch temps, I'll do eet.
-
Of course, if the GTX 780M refresh could be a nice GTX 680MX class card now... well =D

Very nice, just like mine. 90*C is high and that's the reason when I'm gaming I go completely stock.
I'm getting some replacement parts from Sager and when they arrive I'm going to reinstall the GPU heat-sink back-plates and put a plastic washer between to add pressure onto the GPU die and if I can lower my max temps I'll keep the over clock. -
Hello, I am a new and proud owner of a 9370 =).
I am having an issue that I have never seen before on other laptops- my battery status is acting strangely. I thought maybe someone here could help.
To begin with my battery was not even being detected - the status icon was red and the hover over said "No battery detected". I reseated the battery and it was fine. Then today, the icon was showing up as "Unknwon status" and an empty looking battery. OF course I won't be running off battery much but it is still a problem that I would like resolved.
Does anyone have any idea why this sort of thing would occur? I took the battery out and put it back in. Now it is reading fine again. But I am still concerned. I have only had her 2 days! -

D2 Ultima said: ↑I honestly could not say. Windows' battery status detection ability is usually mostly okay. It even knows if your battery needs to be replaced. But if your battery is giving so much issues, it might be faulty itself. I suggest contacting your reseller and getting advice on this.Click to expand...

I have the same issue with my new np9370 my battery sometimes does not show up but if I unseat and reset it its fine. I am running the 680m sli and have modified my vbios to support overclocking. I am running a 131 mhz overclock on the core and 198 mhz overclock on the memory. I posted benchmarks and temps in previous posts. If you want to flash your vbios the simplest way I found was to get the LATEST Nvflash utility. Download the unlocked bios from techinferno.com. Then flash it via the cmd prompt. No booting to bios or anything.

Got my 9370 today, I've been installing drivers getting her all setup. This is my first Sager been wanting one since my freshman year in college (2004). I'm loving it shoutout to Larry @ LPC Digital.

Got my p370em3 yesterday and tried out connecting my Benq xl2420t to it. no cigar. the benq says no cable and the laptop basicly almost finds it. i can see it but i cant activate it. annyone got any idea how to fix this. running displayport ofc.

As far as using the unlocked bios - what are the safe temperatures on the SLI 680 setup that I should stay under? I see a lot saying stay under 90 --but what would be a comfortable load temperature on for this rig?
Thanks for the help! -
Comfortable temps are max 85-88*C
-
agreed higher than 88 is getting to the point of cooking not gaming. I have a 131 mhz overclock on the gpu core and 198 mhz on my gpu memory. I have no additional cooling mods yet nor do I have the thremal compound and I still under my most intensive tests got above 87. Making it a stable overclock in my book. I can suggest these numbers to you guys since I have tested them in my machine with no extra cooling. So they should be safe for everyone so long as you keep your lappy on a cool hard surface.
-
Now if I could just cool my CPU a bit. I'm jealous of those 37/38 20/40qm owners who are OC'ing to 4.2Ghz with max temps of 80*C.. SIGH

My wife's new P370EM (less than 30 days old) has a pixel that keeps getting stuck red. When massaged it usually starts working but keeps coming back and keeps getting suck. I know this is not a "warranty" issue unless we paid for the non dead pixel warranty (which is BS imo). If i'm going to screw with it i would like to upgrade. Has anyone successfully upgraded from the 40-pin non 120Hz/3D lcd cable and panel to the 50-pin cable and 120Hz lcd panel? Laptop has a 7970M if it matters.
Also not worried about making 3D work. I really only care about the nicer panel -

works wonders...
You can put the 120Hz panel (LG LP173WF2) into non 3D model, but you also need the eDP cable and update to BIOS 1.02.08 first. -
I thought the 120Hz screens were only usable with the nVidia cards? I could EASILY be wrong though. I simply remember reading that somewhere.

3D is Nvidia only yes due to the kind of internal display connector used. There are some models with AMD and 3d (think samsung) but they have to be specifically designed for it.

I've been contemplating adding 1 or 2 led's for ambient lighting inside of the NP9370 exhaust vents similar to Xoticpc's afterburner fx for the Asus G7x Models. I contacted xoticpc to see if they offered this feature for the np9370 but unfortunately they do not.
(this is how it looks New Afterburner Lighting for ASUS G Series)
I was wondering if anyone had a motherboard diagram by any chance or knew how the keyboard backlight was wired?
Would it be possible to simply splice into the wiring in order to have it turn on and off with the keyboard lightning? -

The keyboard is a flat type cable connected to a rather delicate connector so it would be very fidley.

Well 3D needs just as much processing power as 120hz gaming.
(120hz 2D = 60hz 3D) so in either case you need a nice amount of processing power. -

I've had my laptop for a few months now and I must say I'm disappointed. Screen is crap(I paid for 90% color gamut one), horrible viewing angles. I'm guessing a TN panel not an IPS, you would think IPS for the price you paid. Killer N 1103 sucks big time. Disconnections like around 25/day. Pulled that crap out and put in a spare Dell 1515 and been working a week w/o any disconnections even though it's only 2 antennas. I would probably sell it soon unless I can get a screen upgrade. Anyone know of an IPS screen for this laptop or another screen w/o the horrible viewing angles. My Macbook Pro Retina 13 doesn't have this viewing angle problem.

As for the killer cards, they have had VERY mixed reviews. A LARGE number of people are complaining to death about them and their driver issues, and an equal number say no problems ever. I'd replace it with a dell card if I could, and when I get my machine I'm getting the 6300 with it.
I can REALLY understand why the poor performance would you off though. That I can sympathize with. -
Hi, I've owned my laptop for a couple of weeks now and I love it. Recently though, I've noticed some problems with the battery connection. It tends to disconnect the power when slightly moved around or sometimes, on its own. It also seems to stop charging at 85% for some reason. All this makes it pretty much unusable without the power cable or a super stable surface.
I also live in Europe, so sending it in for warranty would be long and expensive. Any ideas what to do? -
D2 Ultima said: ↑Those are quite bad reasons for finding it sucks I'd say. The screen you have is a glossy one, I don't know if that affects viewing angles like you want. The 17" matte ones only go to 72% NTSC gamut. The matte ones might be better. I don't know of any IPS screens.

The Killer N problem is being handled by Sager. I'm getting a replacement card. I'm selling it once I get it and buying the Intel Ultimate-N 6300 even though the Dell 1515 works fine right now. -
So I've just replaced GPU1's heatsink backplate because I broke off a screw in the last one doing a thermal paste job. Was a moderately delicate procedure and I also stuck a "shim" between the plate and the card to increase tension between the heatsink and the GPU for better temperatures.
I took a single picture:

raider73 said: ↑The matte vs. glossy doesn't affect viewing angles(i mean vertical angles). Just didn't know it would be this bad. I previously had the Dell L502X w/ the 1080p RGBLED screen and never had this problem.

Results are very good so far and now I want to do GPU2. It's slightly more work because that means I have to take off the CPU heatsink too so definitely not today. I'm very eager to do it though and it's totally worth it. -
What kind of temp improvements are you seeing with the mod?
-
Well I was just playing Borderlands 2 on max settings and PhysX on Medium for an hour and GPU 1 was max 54*C and Afterburner shows that the card was running a consistent 50*C, and that is overclocked with a modded vBIOS with +153 on GPU to make it 901MHz and +433 on the vMemory.
That's pretty darn awesome to me. I should do a non-OC run to see what temps I get. I'll have better information for you guys here when I do the second card because that's the one that I pay the most attention to and it's usually 10*C hotter. -
D2 Ultima said: ↑Well I don't really see how terrible the viewing angles are... you'd have to wanna view them at really odd angles to get them terribly; I did see some reviews and I didn't find them to be so bad. As for the killer N, glad you're getting it sorted out. But yeah the killer N I don't think is particularly their fault as like I said a lot of people complain about em. But I hope your view of the machine really isn't sucky just because of viewing angles. (which is the only thing that they can't really help).Click to expand...

As far as viewing angles, I have a 72% regular matte led display and i can't really say i noticed a huge difference between the two laptops. The color fidelity on the other hand is a different thing but that doesn't make the sager one bad by any means. according to multiples sources and articles read the TN displays are better for gaming, which is the primary use of the np9370, due to faster response times.
Idk about the Wireless card I have the same exact one and can't say i've ever dropped a single connection. -

Hello All,
Why is the RAM under the keyboard not user upgradable on the NP9370 ? Can it be changed by a Sager

Riktar said: ↑well Idk what to tell you the p370/np9370 is relatively cheap for what you're getting. My brother and I ordered a DELL Precision m6700 for work about 4 months ago and those offer IPS screens but they come at a hefty hefty price. The final price tag was ~5000 for i7-3820QM, IPS screen, 720 gb hdd + 128 gb ssd, 2GB RAM (we upgraded it ourselves since it's overpriced as hell from dell) and NVIDIA Quadro K5000M. It's used mainly for video/photo editing and computer animation. but there are no stellar components other than the quadro which cost us 1700 by itself.

I guess I got rip off by Sager then. I check prices for B173HW01 V0(72%) and B173HW01 V4(90%) and the difference is about $10 yet they charge me $150(could have done upgrade myself and save money and have spare LCD). IPS panels cost about $15 more than that. You're right about the TN panels having better response times.
