In the meantime you can download all the latest drivers, and updates. Maybe download all the games you want to play through Steam on a secondary drive since you can migrate folders in Steam easily. Download all the apps and software ahead of time. If you want you can also create a custom Windows install slipstreamed with all the updates.

I think that will save you a lot of time to get your machine up and running as you want it.

Not sure if you're still around TimeLord84, but if you've got a backup link to that OC package you posted up I'd like to have it! Current one seems to be gone.

Edit: Nevermind. Found what I was looking for.

Good idea on the drivers. I'm guessing get all the latest drivers from sagers website? Nvidia drivers from nvidia? Bigfoot driver from them I assume.

Maybe a knowledgeable 9370 owner could make a sticky with a guide on drivers, tweaks etc.

Funny, I have two steam games. A10 flightsim and cod blackops that I played 10 minutes of when it game out. Have a few origin games and the other is on cd... :)

I mixed and matched from Clevo and Sager personally. The only ones off-the-top I can think of that was more up-to-date on Clevo's website was the video driver if I recall.

Derek! Urgently need to pester you again. Or anyone else at XoticPC who'd like to be pestered :p

I recall you saying that it looks like my order should be shipping on Tuesday. Couple of questions, as I'm trying to come up with a plan of attack here to make this happen this week if even slightly possible.

    1. Will the order be shipping EARLY on Tuesday, or on Tuesday night? So basically... will it ship in the AM or PM? (I'm sure you don't precisely know for certain, but an estimate would work)

If you're not certain, or if it's going to ship Tuesday night...

    2. Is UPS' shipping time estimate generally accurate for shipments from Sager? Reason being, it should be NEAR me in 3 days regardless. It should be at my doorstep in 4. I asked the question about the time of day it would ship because, from what I can tell from previous shipments, an AM shipment would make Tuesday count as one of those 4 days, in which case I can probably just wait and it'll show up Friday. However if it ships Tuesday night, it would most likely only get to a distribution center near me by that 4th day, in which case...

I'd probably need to plan to have an intercept scheduled so I can just pick it up on Friday. If it's anywhere within 100 miles of me, I'll walk, on foot, through the snow... err... anyway...

    3. Who would I actually contact to have that intercept setup? I assume it would probably be XoticPC since I ordered it through y'all, but since it'll actually ship from Sager, do I need to contact them instead?

And finally, if this all goes smoothly one way or another and I'm able to get my laptop by Friday...

    4. What's the Paypal account I need to send a donation to so that whoever helps me with this gets their first drink at the bar next weekend on me

If you are wondering what the arrangement is, it's the graphics card with the shared heatsink that's missing, so you just have the 3rd fan there cooling the extra bit for the CPU.

    You're so anxious!

Sager ships out after we close, so if your Tuesday estimate is correct it'll be a PM shipment. The time frame that UPS estimates is pretty dead on as long as you're not looking down to the hour that you should be expecting it. If you do want an intercept, just call us up and we can arrange it for you, just be advised that UPS will generally charge a fee to do so.

Haha, yeah I know. Took a look at my calendar and realized that if I don't receive it by this weekend, I won't have time to do anything with it until next weekend. Not to mention I might not be here part of next week to receive it at all depending on the day it shows up.

Also, given that the current PC I'm using that has served as a replacement to my broken laptop is a Core Solo T1300 with an Intel 945 Express Chipset. Getting rid of it is likely going to be the highlight of the month ;) This is just about the only cause for excitement I've had for a good while now.

    Thanks (again) for the info!

Anyone using the new 310.90 drivers recently released from Nvidia? My machine will hopefully ship in the next couple days and was gathering newest drivers for everything I could fine.

Any issues with the new ones or which version do you recommend getting?

Each GPU fan is on its own RPM setting and I think the left fan is also tied into CPU clocks with the highest state set by the CPU or GPU winning.

I ordered my NP9370 last week. The anticipation is killing me.

Question: have any of you tried a laptop cooler mat/base?

I'm wondering if I should get one as ill likely be doing some epic marathon gaming on it.

    Any successes? Fails?

So far, the cooler master X3 or U3 and the zalman NC-11(I think) look good....

Hey killface, I JUST got my laptop today (LOVE IT) haha. Im using a laptop colling pad. The CoolerMaster u3. Havent tried it without the cooling pad but the temps are GREAT. I got the 1 680m and the i7-3630qm and i have each fan under each vent. The temps in games are max 57c. i press 'FN-1' the turbo fan command loud fans only good if you use headphones while playing bcut my temps drop to 50-51c when i do that. Im very impressed. I dont know how much of a difference it does make but the least you could do is raise up the back end a little for more clearence for air intake. Im majorly impressed as my old laptop was at 86c so switching laptops ive dropped 30c a major amount.

As of only owning it 1 day im impressed. a few things that are not my favorite are that the touch pad doesnt have a scroll function. Not a big deal i use a mouse 95% of the time but its still sometimes nice to have. 1 little 'paint scratch' very small probly 1mm just above the esata port. But still amazing. Only 1 graphics card not overclocked yet and i can max any game i have with well over 45 fps. Very fast just need an ssd.

    steepgnomeking,

If the NP9370 has the same touchpad / drivers as some other Clevos, it should have a multi-finger scroll function (assuming you've installed the touchpad drivers).

Try this. On this web page, place down your index finger securely on the touch pad. Now, while keeping your index finger in contact with the touchpad, touch the pad with your third finger and try moving it "up/down" on the pad. Does the web page scroll?

Has anyone else noticed the following speaker issue with their NP9370 laptop?

My speakers will sometimes make a quiet static popping noise every once in awhile (it's kind of like the noise you get right once you turn on an external speaker). It happens sometimes when I'm navigating folders and sometimes when I'm just browsing the internet. Usually it happens right when I click on a folder or do some other action. It can do this often for a period of time or sometimes not do this at all. It's hard to tell if it comes from the speakers or the actual subwoofer.

Does anyone else notice this on their laptop, and should I be concerned?

I'm not sure if this is related but I noticed the metal around the keyboard area sometimes gives me a static shock when I touch it after I walk around my house a bit. This isn't just the computer though because touching other metal will sometimes give me a static shock too.

Hrm... havn't heard that one mentioned. Try plugging in some headphones and seeing if the issue still occurs. If it does, it's not the speakers.

I'll pay attention to to this though whenever I get mine.

I'm presently sitting here hitting refresh waiting on tracking info O.O

I thought of that and ended up stopping my little app a while ago lol. No worries either way though, I ended up being busy getting my new Harmony 670 in order... which is now having a minor malfunction -.-

Suppose I'll at least be entertained trying to fix it instead of waiting for tomorrow to happen haha.

Hehe... I did that last week. I have literally next to nothing left to do this week to stay busy, and next week I'll be too busy to do anything with the thing. That's why I attempted to plot out some sort of way to ensure I could get it by Friday. Though... my hopes aren't so high on that one anymore.

So after some complications i finally completed the order with some upgrades , expecting the machine sometime next week.

    - 17.3” Full HD (1920x1080) 90% NTSC Color Gamut Glossy LED-Backlit Display (AU OB173HW01 V4)
    - Dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 7970M - CrossFireX Enabled
    - Intel Core i7-3740QM (2.7~3.7GHz) w/6M L3 Cache - 4 Cores - 8 Threads
    - IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU
    - 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3/1600 Dual Channel Memory
    - Crucial 256GB SSD (M4) SATA III Solid-State Drive
    - 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive
    - Built-in Bigfoot Networks Killer™ Wireless-N 1103 - Ultimate Gaming Card.

i took the advice of jaug1337 and upgraded the 3630qm to the 3740qm .. so yea now just need to wait i guess ... meanwhile ,
am thinking of downloading some drivers so that ill be ready to install them when the machine arrives ..
any advices and links would be very well appreciated as i checked sager website and things appear to be out of
    date...
read a lot of bad stuff regarding the bigfoot killer , people saying it keep dropping off etc etc etc ...
that would be a nightmare for me when raiding ( wow ), anyone really facing problems with the wireless card with win8 on this machine ?
i mean worse case i could swap it for the centrino N6300 from my sager 7280 but would be good to know.

I have windows 8 and the bigfoot card and i have 0 issues so far. Works great. I have a 50Mb's/s download so io was downloading Starcraft 2,diablo,hawken, smite, and 6 steam games. I had nothing t do so i went to watch some youtube videos on same laptop on on 1080p i had no problem loading them. The cpu upgrade is gonna be nice especially if you overclock it a little. I stuck with the 3630qm figured it would be enough but more power is always nice. They send a cd with all the drivers so you dont have to upgrade but if you get the OS installed by them all the drivers are already installed.

I would assume the latest drivers havent really look and havent had any problems with other things. You get the disk with the drivers so i would assume those are the most recent ones to date.
Im having issues again with my core clock speed. I have tried different drivers different power settings but it wont go past 180Mhz again. Im not sure what to do ill contact my reseller tomorrow and see if they can help but if anyone knows anything it would be great.

There you go that vBIOS has an UEFI mode bug.

OK, here you go! Make a bootable pendrive and update your GTX680M with these files,

As it says it is only for P370EMx & P57WMx or Sager equivalents.

    ENJOY! :hi2:

If I get a system with 8GB (2x4GB) 1600 RAM, can I add 16gb (2x8gb) 1600 & have a total of 24GB? I was thinking of upgrading the RAM down the road but would like to be able to use the 8GB that came with the system with it.

Yes there are 4 slots, just remember that it will default to the slowest speed of any ram you install.

Also install the ram in pairs, so both 4GB sticks next to each other and both 8GB sticks next to each other.

So I just received my laptop, and there's a couple things that annoy me, My L button makes a loud squeaky sound. Also Im not sure if its factory set to be like this but 1 side of my space bar doesn't go down all the way. can some1 confirm this for me. and should i send it in cause of the squeaky key?

Mine shipped yesterday, yay. Ordered Friday, the rush build option worked out for me. Now hoping safe trip and no issues.

Congrats! Hoping mine still has some slight glimmer of hope of getting shipped to me today, but apparently Sager had an issue. Props to Derek regardless once again for coming through and trying to get things sorted for me though.

Alright just let me know. And if the two-day needs to be done for it to get here Friday, can that be taken out of the extra $100? Or will I soon become an ever poorer college student lol.

I can't discuss pricing details on here, but if you want to respond to my email with any questions I'd be glad to elaborate.

Mmmk, sent it. I'm going off of break now so I won't have computer access but I can still (slowly) check my e-mails, and feel free to call.
