If you have windows 8 it *seems* that win 8 is able to enter automatically recovery mode. It has already done it automatically for me, so idk if it's systematic, but it seems they wanted to make windows self-sufficient even in case of failure - of course that'd work only if the system isn't totally lost.

There is no recovery as Sagers are pretty much a clean install. If you need to do something like that you just reinstall Windows with a disc.

That was regarding BIOS recovery. ;)

I don't know if recovery menu is unlocked on the P37EMx...

You can try to do the FN+B thingy with the stock BIOS renamed to:

    For regular mdel >>> P370EM.rom
    For 3D model >>> P37EM3.rom

Does any one know if the non-3D P370EM comes with the correct 50-pin cable required to push the LG 120Hz panel out of the box? If not, does anyone know what the part number is?

    Hello,

Thanks for your answers but, as Prema said, I was talking about a BIOS recovery procedure...

Thank you very much for this information, it's always good to know, if needed.
About the flashing process, should we rename the ROM from the last EC update file or the one from the last BIOS update file?

    Regards!

    Hi again,

The following references might help you:

LCD panel cable from the P370EM (non-3D model):
Part Name: WIRE CABLE FOR LCD TO M/B (DY/CON:C1SY00112YCB) (P370EM)
    Part Number: 6-43-P37E1-011-A

LCD panel cable from the P370EM3 (3D model):
    Part Name: WIRE CABLE(EDP) FOR LG 3D PANEL TO M/B(HL/JAE CON:FI-VHP50) P370EM3
    Part Number: 6-43-P37E1-020-J

LCD panel from the P370EM3 (3D model):
Part Name: LCD 17.3" FHD LG LP173WF2-TPB1 (LED) (3D) 6.5MM
    Part Number: 6-50-NB265-L04

Also, only a few parts do seem to be different between both models:
    - The top case (because of the 3D emitter)
    - The 3D emitter parts (cable, emitter and bracket)
    - The motherboard
    - The AC adapter (330W instead of the P370EM's 300w) <- not sure about this!

    Regards!

    Hi,

Even if it was obvious, I forgot to mention the 3D screen in the list of part differences...

Does someone know if the genuine Intel Centrino Ultimate-N 6300 cards are still sold in the brown boxes (including the installation guide and the software disc)?
Or, are they just provided in a plastic package only?

    Regards!

    I have a major problem.. :(
when i reapplied thermal paste to my gpu today on the np9370 the 3rd heatsink screw broke off inside the thread!

I'm currently running my system on 3 gpu heatsink screws, and thank god my temperatures are still extremely good under load (better than before).

Any thoughts and suggestion on this problem will be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know about those posts the screws actually screw into? Are they apart of the graphics card? Can they be changed?

Ok so what did you break? The screw in the actual heatsink itself (There are 4 in the core heatsink) or did you break one on the memory/vrm heatsink (The larger L shaped one that is held in by 3 screws?)

If its the core heatsink you can actually remove the gpu with that heatsink attached, its a little tricky but you can do it, then you'll have to probably do nasty things to the heatsink to get it out.

If its the memory/vrm heatsink the posts that the front two screws go into can be removed (also holds down the GPU into the case) (you'll need some small needlenose pliers) and then you'll have to get a new memory heatsink as getting screws out of that is nigh impossible..

One of the screws that holds the Master (GPU 1) heatsink, the head broke off with the headless screw in the thread of the post. It's un-retrievable.

My temperatures are doing amazing however but this needs to be fixed. I contacted the manufacturer and my reseller. Why oh why did I not get the extended warranty for only 200??

So can you get the gpu heatsink off if you take out the other 3? If so you just need a backplate which aren't too expensive at all.

    TimeLord84,

could you please dump your BIOS with default settings.
I need it to recover my own.

Just run Afuwin with BIOS stock settings and hit save:
    Afuwin64.rar

    Thanks.

Yes that score is good :)

Are you running the newest 310.70 WHQL drivers from geforce.com ? I'd recommend you upgrade to it and before installing the new one completely uninstall all nvidia driver stuff from control panel add/remove and then start the computer in safe mode and run a free program called Driver Sweeper and clean all leftover nvidia files and then just install the new ones. This will take several reboots (AND DON'T FORGET TO RE-ENABLE SLI AS THE LAST STEP)

thank you very much for your quick response.

yes, I'm running the latest nVIDIA driver 310.70 but isn't it a beta? and yes I always clean my lap by driver sweeper before installing any new releases. but I feel from your answer the score is not that good! is it?
I'm running W8 BTW, and I couldn't overclock them with MSIA 2.3.0! should I use special vbios to able of overclocking them?

There's a new official WHQL 310.70 that's probably worth the time to update.

My scores are basically the same and before I did do a modded VBIOS flash and overclocked some with very noticeable results in benchmarking. After having temperature issues I decided to default the VBIOS and skip any type of overclocking altogether and I find it's much more stable in gaming, like better than overclocking. Unless you just want to post a huge 3Dmark score I personally don't recommend flashing the VBIOS.

Windows 8 will give a slightly lower score too so no worries :)

it cost me a small fortune so I'll drain ever drop of performance form it :) and I'll install this new driver, do you have FC3?

Well if you haven't seen my vantage scores here I got 47k with the modded VBIOS from TechInferno NVIDIA Kepler VBIOS mods - Overclocking Editions, modified clocks, voltage tweaks

It's really not that hard to do once you get the hang of it. You need to flash both cards after uninstalling all drivers related to Nvidia with a USB drive. If you like I can put the files for the USB in a zip file? I'd like to see some of your temperatures before and after OC'ing.

I'm currently at default bios again with no overclocking. My performance seems to be more stable and temperatures are golden.

    Yes I do have FarCry 3 :)

I do get stuttering on anything more than 2x MSAA. Surprisingly enough for an OCD person like me I play FC3 currently with no MSAA! I play everything maxed out and no MSAA and I'm really loving how good it looks without MSAA, and my temperatures are in the 60's and 70's :) I'm really happy about that.

Trust me, sometimes I spend more time in the graphics options than the actual game hahahahaha and I'm really happy with the look and performance of FC3 on these settings.

That would be a litterally litteral translation of the letters composing "hahaha" in arabic. Oo By the way Solid, did you try Nvidia inspector to OC, and if so, does it give you an error message ? I'm suspecting it's affecting all the win 8 users since the 2 other persons I've seen having the problem on the forum have win 8 too.

I just blew my power supply and I was wondering if you guys could shed any light on how long it would take sager(lpc digital?) to send out a replacement unit after the holiday. I use my computer religiously for school and work, (Np9370 single 680m) and its going to be quite a drag to be without it for any amount of time. Just wondering if anyone could fill me in on how long i'm looking at being out of my computer. And hopefully a reply before my battery is dead....

Christmas eve, and i just wanted to go home after a long day and work on the computer.... :(

Thanks in advance for any help.

So after reading through pretty much the entire thread, I noticed someone mentioned having Bluetooth functionality even without a wireless card installed. It was then discovered that apparently this laptop's MB actually does have on-MOBO BT functionality enabled.

With that being the case, does that mean that getting a wireless card w/ BT functionality is redundant? Or is the innate BT functionality disabled when a wireless upgrade is installed?

Reason being, I pretty much won't upgrade to the Killer 1103 due to its lack of BT functionality. But if the MOBO has BT built-in and the functionality would remain active, that would no longer be an issue. Anybody got any info regarding this?

Orrrr am I getting my hopes up entirely too much and the BT module is actually on the stock networking card and not the MOBO?

For anyone else who wants to overclock their Nvidia Card(s) using NP9370/370EM here is the package.

The instructions are for SLI so the command for a single card is slightly different. Please let me know if you need help cause I don't want someone to do something they can't fix without help so knowing beforehand will help a lot for the newbies.

    http://rapidshare.com/files/2849677431/OC Package.zip

There is everything you will need in this zip archive to do the job, and including simple instructions. Message me if you are going to do it with a single kepler card.

    It work just fine here!

@timelord84: the temps just went up 10-15 degree at default clocks :(

also is it normal the second GPU always higher than the first one by 10-15 degree even with default vbios! isn't should be the opposite since the first one is the main?!

Just wanted to show my idle temperatures that I worked very hard to achieve, I even broke off a screw in my heatsink in the process :(

Anyways, here's my temps that make me so proud. Everything is stock clocks (GPU's and CPU):

    Hello,

Your computer may or may not include a Bluetooth module.

To check, remove the bottom cover of your laptop (four screws) and then watch next to the memory slots (on the left when the processor socket is closer to you than the battery compartment).

If the module is present, you probably will see it...

If not, you will find a cable with an 8-pin connector at its end and an antenna wire, both possibly fixed with a piece of tape.

    Regards!

After 3DMARK 11 the temps are:
    GPU1=74
    GPU2=94
    CPUMax= 81

and yes I increased the CPU multiplier so in turbo reaches ~4.2GHz :)

    My CPU in default between 38 - 45 ideal 73 - 79 in load @4.2GHz 39 - 45 ideal and 75 - 81 in load! :)
but my GPUs before injecting the new one between 31-35 ideal and 65-73 load

the most important thing is my room temps are between 24-26 degree! it's a lil bit hot here :)

but guys is it thermal past applying issue that make GPU2 10 degrees more than GPU1 or it's normal?

@TimeLord84: is it hard to re-applying the thermal past again? I've PK-3 and when I bough the device I bought this extra feature: Extra Cooling Copper Heatsinks Applied to the Heatsink/Heatpipes

Havn't ordered it yet. I've been playing around with configurations though as I'm targeting the 1st week of January for purchase. The last thing I need to decide on is the network card, which pretty much hinges entirely on whether or not the MOBO itself has BT functionality. Getting the Killer 1103 if it does, but if it doesn't, definitely going Killer 1202 or the Intel 6235.

But if I'm reading you correctly, what you're implying is that some of the MOBOs used for this laptop have a BT module, and some don't? Seems a little odd =/ If it matters, I'll more than likely be ordering from XoticPC. Perhaps LPC digital if I decide to go with a more expensive configuration, but that's unlikely at this point.

Don't buy the Killer 1103, their driver has some issues with w8 and i got the same ping/speed results as my previous pc with DLink USB wi-fi!!! I regret I bought it
