Oh xD Well, if he or she is purchasing from XoticPC it should come a disk containing drivers and utilities. Otherwise, there is a stickied post on the main forums containing links to driver downloads.

Edit: Nevermind. Only contains drivers up to 8150. Here's a link to Sager's site for drivers for the 9150.

Did anyone test their cpu and gpu temperatures yet? I got my laptop yesterday and tested the temperatures with Real Temp program from TechPowerUP. When I am surfing the web my GPU and cpu core temps are around 106F-115F and that is with the IC Diamond thermal paste.
Is anyone else getting these specs? Please let me know thanks!

    I didn't found nvidia/radeon drivers there.
I gonna own GTX 660 GPU and what do i need to install first, install Intel driver and then download official driver from nvidia site and install it after intel one? I was using HP ENVY for a couple of days and gpu's were swiching between each other when i was loading different applications (intel gpu for photoshop/radeon for games). There was 2 ways to do that swiching: manual and automatic. It was special driver created by amd engeneers and it worked not too good on envy. With nvidia it will be the same manual swiching with my future Sager?

Eurocom said I should be finally getting mine by the end of next week! The set up in my Signature + a 95% Matted screen that they comped me for delaying so bad [I ordered a month ago and they said it would only take 2 weeks -_-]. But hey, a $120 upgrade is worth the lag for me :p. They aren't as bad as many people make them out to be; at least they were gracious enough to admit that they delayed and to comp me an upgrade of my own choice that was in the $75-130 range.

I can't wait to get a 1440p or 1600p monitor next year and play Diablo 3 Ultra settings 1440p, can you say FUN!? Haha.

Hey guys I apologize I'm still at work! I wot be ble o do the review until tomorrow! I am thinking to make it easier that I use the scripted review everyone does here. Can anyone tell me the way it is layed out? (like what order and content the review has) I have seen it on here many times but of course am failing to see it now that I need it. Thanks again. BTW the temperature of the cpu/gpu idle is 35/38 at full load the highest I hve seen for cpu/gpu is 79/84. Usually my gpu runs at 75 on full load.

^^^^Not bad enough to be problems, though some would like them quieter.
No, you don't need to be worried as long as you keep it on a hard surface. No shag carpets.
That wouldn't be very cost-effective, but technically yes you could do that... Seriously though, why not just buy a bigger crucial and save money?

    Ideally it would probably be:
    Intro
    View of ports and computer
    Specs and performance tests
    Actual usage (games and stuff)
    Battery and temp
    Your personal opinion and recommendation

mSATA costs twice as much per GB. If you want SSD storage, you need to shell out, bro. Most 240GB mSATA drives are $400, while the 256GB crucial periodically goes as low as $200. Not to mention it would be nearly twice as fast. Of course, if you're talking about 512+ GB of space, you really would be better off just getting a mechanical HDD and a 64GB mSATA configured for RST.

I'm assuming you're talking about the 256/128GB ones, right? SSD prices seem to form a bell curve so that 64GB ones are more expensive than you'd think, because you still have to pay for the full controller and shell, and 512GB ones are also more expensive because the cells need to be so much smaller, so I'm not expecting to be getting 512GB SSD's for $250 anytime soon.

Yes, as soon as the mort important in ssd is 4k write speed (80% of use),all this other characteristics like linear read speed is just marketing, windows contains dozens of little dll files. With mlc cells the larger size of SSD is - the bigger write speeds. Search for ssd reviews, most of the tested ssd's is 256+ gigs. For now the Crucial 256gb is the best speed to $ buy. Also Vertex 4 conrtoller is beautifull too (not Sandforce one).

Rights to the name got bought up by tiger direct. Same goes for compusa. They've actually started putting compusa stores in Texas now...tiger direct prices in a brick and mortar store. Its awesome. Finally decent competition for frys.

I'd be pretty happy to say yes for college if it's reasonably spec'ed... I've had my old Core 2 T7700 ASUS F3sv, 4GB Ram, 7200rpm seagate HDD and have been running AutoCAD 2012 on it just fine. This laptop should see Windows 8 out reasonably well and if you want later as parts become cheaper you can always upgrade parts.

The faster wireless N wifi cards are great when you have data stored on a remote hard disk or computer on a network. When used with a wireless N wireless switch or router attatched to your network you can watch 1080p HD movies and transfer data fast over the network (that is given that the network is setup correctly with no data transfer bottle necks between devices on the network). For just internet, the basic card will be far more than current internet data rates require. Also don't forget with some faster wifi cards you loose built in bluetooth. 150Megabits/s = 18.5Megabytes/s internet speed generally varies fom 200kilobytes/s to 3Megabytes/s.

I'm going to bang in an SATA 3.0 rated mSATA with a data transfer rate above above 300MB/s. That way the limiting factor is the SATA 2.0 bus speed limiting the drive to 300MB/s. Given that the fastest SATA 2.0 devices dont reach speeds much beyond 250MB/s sec this should give some speed advantage.

    Yes, I'm impatient!

Possibly - Memoright MS-701 mSATA SSD 500MB/s read and write so 300MB/s read and write limited by the SATA 2.0 bus.

The operating system will go on my OCZ Vortex 4 512GB SSD (with with a 16GB RAM cache) and the mSATA will be extra storage as the mSATA will be slower that the SATA.

Yeah I can barely tell the benefits of AA at 1080p, especially when all of the settings are already at Ultra I would rather have 5-10 extra FPS than an almost unnoticeable graphics difference.

Ultra is on the M17x R4
    Intel Core i7 3610QM 2.3GHz
    Radeon HD 7970M (850MHz), 2048MB (1200MHz) GDDR5, 8.934.2.0
    8192MB RAM

    Try with 3710QM, 8/16GB @ DDR3-1866 with slightly overclocked 7970M and you'll see 50 - 60 FPS @ Ultra in BF3, that's fore sure! :p

Yeah that set up they tested on is almost exactly the system im getting look in my sig. Same hardware but with P150EM chassis. And I really am doubting you get 20 extra FPS from .3 Ghz difference in processor and the 1866mhz ram will give you TOPS 3 fps. So idk... The OC on the 7970m could get you 5-10 fps though easily.

    Hey guys,
I'm going to college next year and was looking for a good laptop to last me hopefully 2-3 years. At the moment the np9150 seems like the best bet but I had a couple major concerns.
First and foremost, it needs to be suitable for college. Is it too heavy to lug around campus? Also, how loud is it when just browsing the web or doing word processing? I want to be able to use it in class or in the library to study; I'll probably only be gaming in my dorm. I want to make sure it's actually suitable for that. It seems like people here have mixed reviews about the noise. If anyone who actually has one could comment on the noise it would be appreciated.

Also I wonder for their benchmarks is that including drop in FPS rates from when you die and it hits down to 10-20? If so then you could easily add 5 fps to that number. Depends how they benched it.

I'd not be fussed about the weight of the machine... an additional 3.6kgs (includes charger) in a good laptop backpack is nothing... I've got a Jeep laptop padded bag for mine which is really good.

It'll surprise you once you get a hold of such a setup ;)

1866 clocked RAM should provide somewhere between 4 FPS maybe 5~6 if you're lucky. The processor should provide 1-2 FPS once again.. depends on the scene what happens etc and the overclock well that surely depends how well you overclock.. everything between 10 - 30 FPS is my guess :D 30 is maybe a little high but hell :p

The noise factor is not an issue. Atleast for me it isnt because i cam from the alienware m14x qgich was so loud.
I orsered mine from gentechpc and got a drivers disc and a bag.

Btw i dont think i am meant to do a review. My 4glte is messed up on my new droid razr phone. No hotspot! Thata all i have for web too. We just moved into a new home. No home web yet. I have been playing alan wake and the lighting. Is phenominal! Love the graphics! Shoot more questions i will answer as soon as i can. Also is thers somerhing else i can use beaides fraps to see framea per second on battlefield 3? Lime maybe a console command? You sacrifice too much with fraps. I put on doom 3 for old time sake. It ran beautifully! Lol of course it would. Almost tsn year old game but still fun. I am also curiius on the fps on alan wake. I have everything tuenes up and experience no lag yet notwbook check has the gtx675m at 27fps foralan wake. I need a command for fps for that game too if possible.

Got an email from Michael@Xotic, i asked a similar question.
"If you have Ultimate, just use that. Do not order another OS from Sager. The drivers are included on a disc, so your software is not affected. You’d want to intall the 64 bit version. There is no need for the 32 bit as most programs are not affected."
I guess you dont have to worry about drivers then.

As another note, will getting the 3610QM be good enough for the 7970m, along with maybe Firefox and Photoshop? (Im a multitasker, and i tend to leave games open for extended periods of time) Otherwise should i get the 3720QM, so there is enough processing power?

As another question, is there a large difference between the 8GB - DDR3 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS) and the 8GB - DDR3 1600MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)? Thanks for all the help!

Clevo make the laptops in Taiwan... Sager is just a rebrand of Clevo in the US so am guessing that Clevo would be where Sager get there drivers from.

You can easily find all of the drivers online; almost every re-seller has them online for free download. I was asked to pay for the drivers once when I forgot to return them and I laughed at them for asking me to pay for a Disk full of things that are freely available online. Lol.

I was told I'll get my P150EM with 7970m next week. I have a 256GB Crucial M4 SSD that I'm throwing in it. Plan on putting in a 128-256GB mSata sometime next year if I need some more space; but I have a 750GB External for movies/music picture files etc. that I don't already have online [spotify, netflix, hulu].
