The NP9150 comes with a bag, and the ASUS G55VW-DS71 comes with backpack. :)

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna go with this one. I'm upgrading to the new ATI video card, 95% matte screen, and going for a HDD caddy instead of an optical drive, and the intel wireless with bluetooth. If there's anything else I should upgrade please let me know. Thanks for the help.

If you have some extra cash to spend, the IC Thermal Diamond Compound is, I think one of if not the best pastes you can get, and it's a pretty good price. I believe it lowers the CPU and GPU temps 5-10 degrees more than the stock compound. Which is especially useful if you plan on OCing at all. Also will help with long term usage, since temperature is usually the culprit for various internal issues.

For those of you that bought backpacks for this model, did you just go for ones advertised for 17 inchers? I read that buying one advertised for normal 15 inchers is risky...

Thanks. Yea I actually had that upgrade selected too.

Does anyone have any recommendations for coolers? I've got one for my 17" laptop, but I'll be passing that on to my wife and kids for use with the laptop. Like I said I'll use this almost exclusively while sitting on the couch, is a cooler necessary?

Is the 95% matte or the 95% glossy better; I know the glossy supposedly looks more vivid but the 95% matte is better in conditions where light is present. I would go with the matted version but I heard that the matted 95% [V7 i think it is?] Sometimes has a bad red hue to it that is hard to fix and the glossy one does not. I will not use it outside but sometimes there may be some light. I'm getting the build in my sig but with a 95% display upgrade; its starting to be built like tomorrow so I told them glossy but I'm not sure if I should switch to Matted ha.

You'll hear arguments for either way. We do sell alot more matte then glossy and people love them. I too prefer matte. For photography I will only do it on a matte screen but for gaming glossy is nicer as colors tend to be more vibrant and "pop" more. It comes down to what you're gonna be doing.

I'd go matte. Even in a darker room and gaming, matte just looks warmer and more natural to me.

Before purchasing my first p150hm last year, i pulled out my 11 year old hp pavilon (1000mhz athlon, 256mb ram, 4:5 screen, lol) and compared it to my m11x -- i had forgotten how much more i preferred matte screens.

I do 0 photography so that wouldn't be a factor; just gaming and some photoshop. I feel like the glossy colors might be more sexy for Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, Skyrim, and next year Crysis 3. Also got accepted to Firefall beta which looks very promising. Idk, does anyone have pictures of the matted 95% compared to the glossy 95%? I'm sure both are amazing; i'm used to complete garbage screens so I'll love either one.

Just get IC diamond, prop up the back, use fn+1, and you'll laugh when people ask you if you have a cooler.

Regarding the screens: the red hue affected glossy screens too and was confirmed to be a defective batch by several reputable resellers. There was a thread around that compared pics of the 4 screens, but I don't know where it went.

It all honestly depends on you. I personally love glossy screens. 2 in the morning, Assassin's Creed Revelations, and an uber-bright screen that literally blows me away. That why i enjoy glossy screens. However, sometimes when my screen is off i can practically use it as a mirror to fix my hair. And in the light? Can see nothing.
I all just depends on your uses. I myself happen am hoping to be accepted to a Caribbean medical school, so im gonna go with a matte screen because its gonna be real bright there.
If you want to make a more informed decision, check out your local electronics dealer. Ask a sales rep to show you the different types of screen, then choose.
    Hope my little rant helped!

Been hearing the same thing. Mythlogic, themselves, recommend a 17 inch slappa sleeve for the 9150. In such case, I guess that going with 17 inch sleeve/bag/pouch would be your best bet due to the 9150's thickness.

Now on our Pollux 1612 (P150EM) as we've had requests for them. Chiclet style keyboards. They are a lot nicer to type on. And the backlight shows through better.

You should really do a side by side video review. It looks great, personally I like both original one and your custom one. I have a feeling the real chiclet kb would clog more dust in than the original island kb. Do you charge an extra for that ?

THat is wicked!!! The keyboards both seem easy enough to type on. It's just easier to get used to a chiclet; I'm sure with some practice we could all type just fine on the new keyboard also; I use an awful old keyboard that isn't chiclet and its probably 10x worse than the new P150EM backlit and I can still type 80 + WPM ha. I also think dust could be an issue since there are now gaps for the light to show through. Either way that is very cool!

After looking at pictures of both. I personally prefer the original kb from Clevo, true chiclet like one modded by Mythlogic makes more noise than the regular one.

I can't believe it. I ordered on the 29th (an hour after Ivy Bridge came out for Sager laptops on XoticPC) and it still hasn't shipped yet. I'll be traveling abroad soon and I had no option but I had to choose overnight shipping for $94 :(

That depends, for the stock glossy the two panels are basically the same. There isn't really any one thats better than the other.

matted is a verb (to have a matte surface) (obviously not definition 1, but 2)

matte is an adjective, describing a surface type. Matte is the correct word to use in this instance.

I got my Lotus P150EM-SE from Malibal today after a 17 day wait. They were good, the GTX 675M I originally wanted wasn't in stock so I got it with the 580M instead and a $55 refund and got shipping bumped up to overnight. Can't complain I had no problems with the 580M in the laptop this one replaces. I hope to upgrade to the 680M when it becomes available.

What will be the first game you'll play on your new P150EM?

For me, it will be either Railworks 3 or Metro 2033.

It feels. Svelte. Id say. Also its not that thick. I used to have the m14x and the 9150 feels the same minus weight. Also whoever said this is loud ia crazy. The m14x was crazy loud. This is no where near it. It runs cool too! My max during gaming or benchmarks is 76 Celsius.

First game i played on it was metro 2033. Gpu core at 740. And memory at 1650. Runs like a champ! Off subject but i would really like an unlocked bios. So i can take advantage. Of my hyper. X ram and minor cpu overclock :) right now its prerty bland. Also make sure to turn off aero service when playing battlefield 3, metro 2033, crysis 2, bad xompany and alan wake. Your mouse pointer is way off if you dont. Those are the only games i have seen it happen though. There may be more. I just turn iff themes under

Sorry it cut me off. Turn off themes under sercices.msc and no mouse pointer issue!

How's the portability? It seems exceptionally big and heavy for a 15 inch. Is it something can take around daily? Also, how hot does it get?

It's the lightest gaming notebook you will ever find. 7 lbs without PSU. Apparently, it gets cool...

    Well that's a good sign.

From what others have said, it seems to run quite cool and gets decent 4-5 hour battery life when using integrated graphics. Though to put the weight (6.83 lbs) into perspective, that's roughly the weight of a 15 inch macbook pro plus a small textbook. Now I just wonder how much the 180w power brick weighs xD
