Well if you want the XM processor the P170EM might be a better choice. If that is too big most settle for the 3820QM processor which is pretty close with CPU cache...with no "XM" benefit the price is hard to take. If you were budgetting you could get something pretty decent instead for the price of that downgrade.

There is a video about it on xoticpc website... look at the NP9170 model and the demo shows information on the configuration of it. You have the enable raid regardless of the driver configuration...

Chances of changing... can't tell the future, sorry. SSD is probably better for the primary bay. mSata wouldn't benefit your configuration speed wise as it is Sata II, but can provide additional storage. Hotswap for ODD I am not sure... mSata port is for hard drives only... xotic pc materials might be best to ask them on live chat or something... scratch resistant... road warrior laptops can't expect this... if you were asking TSA resistant now that would be asking a whole lot as even tough books get broken... there might be bigger things to worry about than scratches... I would get a neoprene sleeve if you were worried about that. All laptops sort of wear, but depends on the materials selected... not noticable enough to worry about wear as long as it works and gets the job done. Your specs look like are meeting what you are looking for. I think the no logo option might be just as effective as flat black stealth though as it might provide the metal looking finish vs a black boring finish... but your call that is a maybe depending on what you are looking for.

it is from the 7000 desktop series and listed on forums about the card... not on the forums about the P150EM...

Worthy choice :). I might have to revisit crisis 2 on ultra with high frame rates. And of course, devil 3 :)

Hey, just a random question; I just watched a review video, and they said theirs came with the msi afterburner technology, does this software only come with certain retailers?

I have this and it's pretty versatile, if you don't mind blurring your backlit keyboard lights. Easy to clean to. And there's no specifically built keyboard cover for this unit

Yes. But you can probably ask a reseller to install it for you :)

Or you can install it yourself: MSI Afterburner

Sweet, thanks. Would you guys say that it is the safest tech to use if I ever feel like OC when I need to?

*Also, does it automatically tune to your laptop or do you set it up? Cause I definitely don't want to eff anything up haha.

safe? there are no guarantees here. what happens when you use it is your responsibility. safest relative to no OC? safest to temp management? it just offers the capability.

I get my NP9150 by tomorrow.

Is everybody having problems with the GTX 675m?? The guys at xoticpc forums say that nvidia hasnt released the drivers yet, so i was just wondering if its like a global thing in which all the 675m's are giving BSOD.

Hey im looking for information regarding the temps and the noise, since the review in notebookcheck says its loud and hot... i want to confirm if thats true, as it was rumored that it might be due to a bad thermal paste on the test model they got.

Is there a video around that has the NP9150 playing demanding games with the fans on?
Specifically, the various games running with the audio off?
It would be nice to actually hear how loud it would be. I know "loudness perception" is objective, but just having various dB #s is too limited IMO to have a real sense.

We have posted some dB ratings in this thread http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/656018-youtube-videos-resellers-p150em-p170em-w110er-3.html

This should help you get a rough idea, and we do put it in perspective.

Seeing as how each bios is different has anyone who's recieved it booted from a usb external DVD? Is usb part of the normal boot order? I ordered mine without a OS and also with a HDD instead of optical disk.

    I pre-ordered the P150EM w/i7-3720QM and the HD7970M

Is it possible to OC the CPU?
I heard the ability is locked out in the BIOS?
Does xoticpc's Readline Boost OC both the CPU and the GPU?

Can someone clarify something for me? Is literally the ONLY difference between the 9130 and 9150 the rubberized finish, the backlit keyboard, and the ability to put in more powerful GPUs?

pretty much all that you stated, except this because if you want to upgrade the GPU, you will need the 180w PSU (but I believe for the current P151EM setup with GTX 670m, resellers send out the 180w PSU until that card is replaced by GTX 660m then they may only send the 120w)

It's a software limitation this time, there's a chance that a fabulous NBR user called prema could make it work. However, we really have no idea how high it could go without overheating on a 15 inch machine. To put it bluntly, not overclocking an xm is like buying a ferrari (sp?) and driving it around the parking lot.

If by other options you mean what to do with all that extra money, the only thing I can think of is a 512gb ssd.
EDIT: Aah sorry, didn't see that you said opinions instaid of options.

TwinTurbo I feel your pain! I was told I'd get my laptop by May 15th from Eurocom. Now they are saying it will take until the 20th. Pretty lame since I mainly ordered from them because they quoted me with such a quick time.

Ordered the build in my Sig. Going to be a beast! :D

Yeah, I would love to get the 17", but 2lbs extra when I'm carrying a work laptop as well running through an airport sucks. :)

I dropped it down to a 3820 processor instead. Maybe I'll use the extra cash to upgrade my desktop to an extreme instead.

Just ordered A502(W150ERQ) and P502(P150EM) from Myns.de. First for my little brother and second for me. Trasferring from PC>>Notebook.
Because of HD7970M will not get there before the end of may, i will not see my precious at least for 2 weeks.
    :(

    But I´ll wait. :)

And if I may add another question on the speakers - if you close the lid do you basically muffle the speakers? I sometimes will listen to audio books at night when in bed, on my current Dell M1710, and since the speakers are on the front of the machine there's no impact on the sound (I close the lid to remove the light from the screen in the room.) I will also miss having dedicated audio controls on the front of the notebook, but I understand few notebooks have that.

    Thanks.

That's one thing I am going to miss on the old Sony is the display off button. Lean over, hit the button and no more light from the screen. I'm betting there's a way to do similar with a shortcut/hot key. Have not looked into it myself.

Here you go, been doing this for years.
Turn Any Action into a Keyboard Shortcut

Turn off your notebook LCD with one-click | Redmond Pie

Just bind with a useless FN combination (bluetooth if you don't have one)

Sorry, I've read most of this thread but I couldn't find the answer to this question.

What are the options to run multi monitors with the P9150? Can you run one from the DVI/HDMI, one from the Display Port and still use the laptop monitor?

Also, what is the consensus on mSata? Is it better to use it as a disk cache or as the OS drive?

    Thanks!

Mythlogic said that with the GTX 660m they were able to power two displays total. That means either two external displays or one external and the internal display. Kind of a bummer, but I wasn't too surprised.

Eurocom does this regularly enough to make it a business policy. It's called attracting customers with early release dates, then feeding half of them ES parts (which is illegal), and when they run out they cite bogus delays and you get the laptop at the same time as everyone else. Pretty shady, if you ask me.

How long are you willing to wait? Because 2 weeks is completely unrealistic. I ordered mine on ivy launch, and it still hasn't gone into the build phase due to a shortage of parts. Now, with 7970m to complicate things, you'd be lucky if you saw your laptop within 4 weeks, minimum. I hope you're as prepared to wait as you say...

Best we can say now is maybe :(
Since there isnt an exact date on when the 7970M will be available its impossible to guarntee delivery dates. They're expected late this month but with any type or pre orders there always can be delays. We just cant be sure they'll be available until they are. If they do make it by then end of this month then the 15th should be fine.

    Hey!

Mysn.de told me in this forum that they get 7970M in late may. All the rest is ready and waiting. I have no reason to not belive him.
Will shall see. I will make a preview thread from both notebooks, as soon as i get them.
I will do following benches on both notebooks:

3DM06, 3DMVantage, 3DM11, Heaven 3.0 with extreme settings, AvP benchmark, H.A.W.X. 2 Benchmark, Lost Planet 2 Benchmark and perhaps some more.
Also i will play Diablo 3 and BF3 64man Caspian Border both on full HD and max eyecandy. I will be benching their min/avg/max FPS with Fraps.

Also i will do couple syntetic benches with max OC settings. Max stable OC settings i will test on BF3.
I will test out 3 screens possibility on P150EM ( I will get it to work somehow) and perhaps i also test out external screen working with W150ERQ.

So lots of fun incoming. :)
