Both of them really good. Only two thing makes me think. with rx 580 Lower Fps but free sync or going with gtx 1060 higher fps v-sync. And temperatures.

guys i may need your help, i cannot control the LCD brightness with the hotkeys. (FN+ F8/F9). Pressing the key combination simply does nothing. But brightness contol is working in the Windows control panel (clicking slider with the mouse). I have tried CCC (Hotkey) Software versions 07_Hotkey_5.0001.1.78.zip and 07_Hotkey_5.0001.1.88.zip but it does not work.

Any ideas what i can do?

    **EDIT**
problem solved, i had updated the Intel GPU drivers with the Obsidian tool to the latest version, i have now downgraded to Clevo "1. Release INTEL VGA Driver v23.20.16.4849" and the brightness control via hotkey is working again.

did you set the NVIDIA card to high performance in the NVIDIA control panel?

What do you mean by "high performance"? The only thing that I change from the default is the power set to adaptive.
I got the same issue as your with the newest driver set. The old one (1.05.06 or something ?) work perfectly. Though, I don't care about the issue as I will annoy me if I do.

i mean the setting for each Game in the nvidia control panel (or the global setting for all games) you could try highest performance instead of adaptive and see if it makes a difference. Have a look at my screenshot here:

The AMD performs significantly better in DX 12 and vulkan titles, so in terms of future proofing the AMD wins out hands down.

Also unlike the intel you can upgrade your CPU until at least 2020, so you can upgrade to ryzen 2700 if u feel like it.

And how many have you seen upgraded their Asus laptops with 2nd gen Ryzen 2700 so far? Please post links. Thanks

There are more users with 8 series Intel chips per machine bought in z170 devices than those with 2xxx Ryzen chips in their Asus machines.

Lol! I know the point of posting this video is about the comparison between i7-8700 (LGA) vs i9-8950 (BGA), but the reviewer is completely lost on the "practicality" that something in this footprint even exists...

He has no clue that there is a market segment that couldn't give a rat's hind-end on how flashy, slim and tiny our Desktop Replacements are while we bring them to the "coffee shop". Give me a break.

Most of us are NOT purchasing DTRs with high end discrete GPUs, massive storage, so we can impress our friends at "Central Perk." For our market segment, we just want MOAR POWAH!

It would be cool if they put one without power limits on a vapor chamber cooler with quad heatpipes and a corner fan, but no one seems interested.

Could anyone send me the 120hz / 144hz panel like from Amazon or ebay? I need something like a product number or something else.

Ok got it from a users profile:

    120Hz AUO B156HTN05.1

    Hopefully it works :)

    Hello!
Can anybody confirm that it is possible to use two M.2 PCI-e Nvme modules in N957TP6. Are there any restrictions? Will be using Linux and wanted to run it from a btrfs raid0.
    Thanks,
    Paul

I don't believe there are any restrictions other than the platform one of max sequtiak speeds limited by dmi 3.0 to around 3.5GB/sec.

Beg your pardon, misread the thread title. Note that engineering samples are illegal to sell...

As for compatibility then it comes down to the exact stepping of the chip and what it reads at, it will most likely work but produce errors retail chips would not and may exhibit strange behaviour.

    http://www.clevo.com.tw/clevo_down.asp?lang=en

Select N9xTP6 on the first dropdown menu
Select ALL on the second dropdown menu

Under the Section "others" You'll find "Update Control Center AP Version 5.0001.1.92"
    Went from 5.0001.1.78 to 5.0001.1.93

Beware that the links are terribly slow. it took me 3 hours to download a 300mb file lol

I am interested in this barebone, but i cant see what touchpad is built-in? It is a precision Touchpad, Right? It is a Synaptics Touchpad? That is really important for me.
    Thanks a lot!
And what Display is built-in? I Need the exact Model number because i want to replace the Display with mine.

hey guys, today i tested the USB C on my N950TP6 but i could not get USB 3.1 Gen2 speeds. I had tested with an NVMe SSD in a JMicron JMS583 NVMe to USB C case. The speeds were around 400MB/s but the NVMe SSD can do a lot faster than that. The same SSD/USB case worked with full speed with an Intel NUC (Thunderbolt 3/USB 3.1 Gen 2 port). So for me it seems that the N950TP6 does not have an USB 3.1 Gen2 Typ C Slot!? Refering the Notebookcheck review and Clevo this Laptop should be Gen2 but i cannot get to achieve this speed... Any ideas?

    Here an HWInfo Screenshot:

Also, in which direction were your tests? Writing to the NVMe or reading from the NVMe?

If you were writing to the NVMe as a test, has the disk been secured erased? If you try it again in the intel, is the speed as was before? Just wondering if there are now write amplification penalties going on.

..but is it possible there is overhead in the controller doing the conversion that may cost some bandwidth?..
-> but the Nuc system had Crystaldiskmarks full speed with the same NVMe box (i.e. same SSD and USB controller chipset in the case) on its Typ C port.

...Also, in which direction were your tests? Writing to the NVMe or reading from the NVMe?...
-> Crystaldiskmark - read and write

-> the NVMe was trimmed before and between the tests

how can i check the Clevo mentioned Gen 2 speeds?

the M.2 SSD is an Intel 600p 128GB, max read 770MB/s in the Nuc's M.2 Port and 699MB/s read with the Nuc's Typ C and the JMicron Case.

    In the Clevo's M.2: 770MB/s read
but via Typ C only ~400 MB/s in the the JMicron Case

Crystaldiskmark file size was 1GB in the tests

Strange. Every spec sheet says the USB Type C in this model is USB 3.1 Gen 2. Hopefully someone can come up with an explanation.

See my signature for the exact model number. I opened the display frame carefully all around with a "guitar Clip" and NOT like shown in the Service Manual! After that it was an easy direct 1:1 fit. I have had a 1080p 60Hz IPS before and could use the same cable. Where are you from? Whats Your Location? I might have one for Sale.

well the Clevo only uses Z370 USB wich Intel says is 3.0 only link so even Clevo tells the wrong product specs. USB Gen2 would have needed an thirdparty USB chipset (ASMedia or Thunderbolt which is backwards compatible to USB 3.1 Gen2).
