I believe that was just due to the time it was released, I suggest it will probably work but ordering from a place with a good returns policy would cover you if you need it.

CLEVO N957TP6 - i'd ike to change display to 100%srgb fhd or even better 4k (for graphic designer, video editor). Can you suggest any good model?

as i see in N957TP6 is eDP30 PIN ... but from MB is 40 or 30 PIN? If 40 then i need to buy 40-40 pin eDP cable to connect better 4k display...

I think it was never shipped with a 4k monitor so there wont be 40 pin cables available even if the connector could handle it.

these 30 or 40 pin cables are not the same for all laptops? :(

So there is no way to upgrade display in this laptop to have better color space (100% or almost sRGB)?

On the display side there is a standard, on the motherboard side it's a wild west.

Your best bet would be to find a 30 pin panel with your desired specifications using a place like panelook.

Is there a way to limit the max charge on the battery to 80-90%? I just noticed that after 2 years of use my battery wear is around 35%, which I think is a lot and too much for that time? I really prefer not to have to buy new battery.

If supported the option would be in the BIOS, can't remember on this model specifically.

Then no. The BIOS is pretty much useless to this model, almost nothing can be changed via BIOS settings.

I thought that sounded odd for this model (even though I don't think we sold it) and page 5 - 9 of the manual is pretty clear.

True! It is my fault. Didn't try the Flexicharger setting, not I did set it up and it is what I was asking for. Sorry for the misinformation and thanks for pointing it out. :)

Isn't it FN + the num pad keys for keyboard control? The manual would tell you more.

Has anyone tested to see if "n950tp" bios/ec is compatible with "n950kp" model? Specially the "1.05.07 version of n950tp" for "1.05.04 of n950kp"

Does anybody know how to use XMP on Clevo N957TP6? This is an actual screenshot of a RAM I bought. https://i.imgur.com/W2BMTJj.png

It claims to support up to 3200Ghz but the screenshot says the XMP profile is 2666Ghz. Is it possible to change it to 3200Ghz?

Who claimed that? There serial number seems to be in accordance to the max 2666 speed.

I know that in china/taiwan,the N95xTP one with it's Z370 motherboard was sold with 3200mhz ram,so it's possible but for XMP profile, maybe Dsanke bios have it!!??

link of unlocked bios for clevo refresh : Link
you need "K" series to be able to utilize above 2666mhz ram, otherwise it's waste of money; (9600K/8600K/8700K/9900K/9700K)

Ah, Thank you. My processor is i7 8700. Also, the process for modding seems scary. So I guess I just should just stick with 2666 for now.

Another day, another problem. I finally got 2*32 GB RAM, and now facing another problem.

When I install individual RAM only, the system works well. But when I installed both at the same time, the system crash while booting.

    RAM Model: HyperX HX426S16IB/32

    Note:

    - When I installed 64 GB combo for the first time, the system worked fine for like half an hour with a BSOD `Whea uncorrectable error`. But crashing on boot since. It means my system supports 64 GB.
    - Memory diag test passes on individual RAM
    - 16(older RAM)+32GB combos works fine without any problem when tried with both 32 GB RAM, one at a time.
    - Booting Ubuntu and Windows through USB UEFI also has the same problems.

The magic wording is " Up to". They have other modules that come at 3200Mhz out of the factory, but this particular module spec is 2666Mhz. You can overclock it, but it's not guaranteed that you will reach 3200.

    No you don't, you need a Z series chipset. I'm running my 8700 with 2x16Gb 3200Mhz modules.

Ok. I posted in one group and they said, it might be because of my motherboard limitation. My motherboard supports up to 32 GB so, after that, it may or may not work.

It's hard to believe. Because the correctly detect 64 GB of RAM and the PC also works sometimes. Anybody else has a similar problem? Are these the symptoms of the motherboard incompatibility? I am thinking of buying from a RAM from a different brand. I doubt it will solve the issue?

Not really on this one, it's really gimping their desktop chips which are already looking weak at the moment. The unlocked overclocking i'd agree with more.

Computer Upgrade Kings (CUK) that is a Clevo Value Added Reseller (VAR) says that the max RAM they offered the N950TP6 with was 32 GB because they had problems with 64. My N950TP6 from CUK https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B079N9ZHKJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 has 2 X 16 GB DDR4 2400MHz Kingston.

I upgraded to 2 X SAMSUNG 970 EVO Plus SSD 2TB - M.2 NVMe a year ago and it’s been working great. But I just tried a new Sabrent Rocket Q 8TB NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 and although it shows up in the BIOS under Intel Rapid Storage Technology RAID, I can’t get my laptop to boot with it installed no matter what I try, not even off a bootable USB drive. Maybe I need a BIOS upgrade?

A while ago, I posted about issues while upgrading RAM to 64 GB. Just want to give another update.

I was feeling brave this week, so I ordered another RAM but from a different brand, and it worked.

    So in nutshell,

    2 * Hyperx 32 GB 2666mhz RAM = System failures (which I tried earlier)
    1 * HyperX 32 GB 2666mhz + 1 * Crucial 32 GB 3200mhz (which I got today) = Works perfectly.

    Hey,

I tried to download the file: "I_Combo_0817.zip" for model "N9xxTD_TF" from the Clevo-Site but all three mirrors are dead.

Can somebody help me out there? I know there is an older driver available but I'm not sure if they modified it somehow to work with the hotkeys and the ControlCenter.

    Thank you :)
