It is recognized now but Motorola MyBluetooth (The driver provided by Sager) says "The attached Bluetooth dongle is not supported."

    edit:
The missing keystrokes problem came back but after disabling some start up programs, it is gone.
    edit 2:
The problem was UDPixel. It stops keystroke every few intervals.

I'm a bit confused about the current shipping situation. I'm helping a friend choose a laptop, and this seems like the perfect comp for him. He needs to have it by the end of August/very early September the latest. Is that possible with the current delays? Thanks in advance!

Edit: I am pretty sure I figured out what the problem was, as the keyboard is now not skipping at all. When I have CPUID Hardware Moniter running it skips, when I don't it doesn't., so I'm assuming that program was the problem. If it starts skipping again, I will edit this. From what IKilledYourHamster said about UDPixel, perhaps there are multiple programs that will cause this problem? Again, if I run into any more keyboard issues, I'll let you all know.

Edit 2: Somewhat ironically, I am now running UDPixel to fix a stuck one in the upper left, and have noticed no typing problems.

Also, if anyone has an questions about the Sager NP5125 or my opinions on it, let me know and I'll try to reply to you.

    Original post below:

I just received my NP5125 today, and am also having a problem with the keyboard. Every so often, a keystroke doesn't register. I push the key, nothing happens. It isn't like the key refuses to work at all, it's just that sometimes a letter (or space, punctuation, etc) won't appear.

At first I thought it was just switching to a different style of keyboard, but then I just tried pushing the same key over over again, and it sometimes skipped one.

It happens pretty often, about 15-25 times in this message for example, although the rate varies.

    wwmwmwmwmmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwm

While typing the above line, the keys did not register twice.

I'll be looking into the solution posted a few pages back, let you know how/if anything works.

Other than that though, I like the computer.

I discovered the problem! I was wrong, again. It only misses keystrokes when Optimus acts up. It is constantly switching between Integrated and dedicated right now so I'm missing keystrokes. If I restart, Optimus behaves for a while and everything is fine. I have to find out what makes Optimus do that.
EDIT: It is HWMonitor that is causing it. I am certain. toucanater, will you try it for me?
EDIT: After further testing, I can confirm it is HWMonitor. Is it trying to take the temperature of both the IGP and DGP at the same time? I'm not sure...
    GPU-Z does the same thing.

No luck reviving the stuck pixel. It's on the lower right bottom but I keep looking at it. I've been running UDPixel for about 4 hours and applied some pressure on it. Any advice?

Also, is anyone else having trouble with Bluetooth? If I try to access MyBluetooth it says "The attached bluetooth is not supported."

I just got my 5125 in and I'm having the same problem with the bluetooth device:
"The attached bluetooth dongle is not supported"
    I'm running Windows 7 64-bit

If anyone knows a fix (or a newer driver) it would be much appreciated

    What is your serial number?

What kind of Bluetooth dongle are you using?

Are you using Windows 7? If so, it is recommended to download the Windows Mobile Device Center and then install the Microsoft Corporation Drivers on each Bluetooth item (Peripheral Device Driver Update). http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=4f68eb56-7825-43b2-ac89-2030ed98ed95 This is good for both Vista and Windows 7.

The Sager NP5125 actually comes from Sager regardless of the reseller you order it from, and no, Sager does not install any anti-virus software or other bloatware.

i know, but i was just curious if it was a bit diff with resellers since Sager automatically selects to have Office installed, and theres no option to not have MS Office installed, yet on the XoticPC configurator, u can choose to have no office software.

I finally got my NP5125 today; I feel a little silly saying it, but I wasn't able to sleep much last night in anticipation of it. Sadly, the computer has been having some of the same problems mentioned previously, namely dropped keystrokes (I don't have the HWMonitor process, so that isn't the culprit in my case, I'd imagine) and a need for better video drivers.

I tried running Empire: Total War on my computer and it won't allow me to put the settings on High, much less the very highest settings. My little brother has a laptop with the 310M, less RAM than me and a lower end i5 processor, but these options are open to him (even though his laptop couldn't handle it) and a little perusing online revealed that Creative Assembly locked out the high settings from people who don't meet certain system specifications (which I definitely exceed).

In short, I blame the drivers and tried to use the method mentioned earlier in this thread to update them, but as you'll see from my post on that topic's thread, that didn't work out for me.

As I've had these problems (and somebody had mentioned having to RMA their NP5125 for a dead USB 3.0 port), I thought it would be a good idea to run a full battery of tests on this machine to check out all the other aspects of it.

Do you all have any suggestions as to what I could do? It seems from some of the posts on here that people have their go to tests for various aspects of their new laptops ranging from RAM to screen, so please share! (If this sort of information has already been aggregated somewhere, feel free to post a link!)

Uhmmm i have a question about the anti-virus to install in my NP5125.

I like NOD32, is really pretty good and fast, i will instal it on my NP5125, but I have a little doubt about it.

    Warm regards.

    Just get free antivirus.

I'm assuming since you don't have a real copy of Windows you can't get security updates? If that's true your PC's gonna be screwed anyways when a virus gets through.

Without security updates, malware can slip through so easy and destroy everything. It happened to my old computer when I reinstalled Windows but didn't download the security updates yet... I browsed internet for a couple minutes and then got a massive incurable infection.

We aren't judging the price of windows internationally or not......what we are saying is it would probably be better if you did not post that you have a pirated copy of windows online. Saying things like that can result in bad things happening.

And in response to your question about antivirus, you are probably okay with a free antivirus....I'm not really sure what you mean by "original" antivirus

I just ordered the NP5125 from XoticPC, but I'm not entirely sure I made the right choice in upgrades. Since the screen seems to be back-ordered until the end of the month, I have some time to change it.

I went with the i5-450m and the Seagate Momentus XT 500gb hybrid HDD. Would I notice more of a change in performance if I dropped the HDD to the base and got the i5-540m processor instead? Also, I heard from feedback on newegg that the hybrid HDD has had some problems. I plan on using this laptop mostly for gaming, taking notes in class, and programming. The longest duration I will need away from an outlet is 3 hours since I have 3 classes back-to-back-to-back, so if the higher performance cpu drains the battery too fast, that is a problem.

    Thanks for your help!

the Hybrid Hard Drive would increase performance more than having the 540m over the 450m, there really isnt much performance improvement in those 2 CPU's and the HD is really the main bottleneck of most computers today, so a better hard drive is always the best upgrade

and if u got the pre-order for the larger battery (the 62wh one) then 3 hours should be no problem, even with the regular battery u might be able to get 3 hours i think

I havnt yet tried to connect a mouse but my phone connected fine. I think you guys are running into problems because there is a built in bluetooth and your trying to attach a Bluetooth dongle. Try and read instructions on how to connect to builtin card instead of dongle

Anybody else order the Microsoft Bluetooth mouse along with the laptop? Being a college student it was 50% off and I checked on newegg n everything and its like a $45-50 mouse that I got for $25.. Sure I didn't really need a mouse but at that cheap I figured it was a steal :p

In addition, the $10 black carrying case... All of the cases on their site were from like $35-$100... So I figured that $10 for a case is as cheap as it comes.. I don't know which case it is though, if someone can send me a link to a pic or tell me which case it is because on their site they have a basic black case and a black business case which the basic black case is more expensive in their shop at least and one of them only holds up to a 15" I think which I ordered the 7110 which is 17" so I hope the case I got will hold up to the 17" laptop I got.

Thanks in advance for any questions answered, love this forum its just like a big family in here :p

I heard the Razer Orochi is pretty sweet. I just don't know if after gaming it'll make your hand feel all claw-like from the size. I'm used to my Logitech G5.

I am really considering getting the Razer Orachi.. Being a user of the Razer Deathadder for the last 3 years (after a year or so it encountered a double clicking problem where the mouse actually double clicked when just pressing the button once.. Trust me it wasn't messed up in settings.. it was a hardware problem with the mouse. Of course after getting an RMA replacement, I ended up encountering the same exact problem on my RMA'd deathadder after about a year and i have just been living with it although it has been EXTREMELY annoying EXPECIALLY FOR GAMING)

It just kinda bugs me that you pay so much for a mouse and it has a huge flaw not allowing it to work for more then a year.

Anyways... I would like to know what people say about the size of the mouse (seeing as i am used to the size of the razer deathadder for normal PC use and soon to be the cheap Microsoft wireless bluetooth mouse) and also, are there any design flaws that encounter after a certain amount of time ex. double clicking issue with Deathadders.

If anyone has the Orochi it would be greatly appreciated to get an answer for the few questions i have before i go fork out the $70 for the mouse

My Desktop's Logitech MX1100 (voted by many people with BEST MOUSE EVAR!!!) also got double click when I single click problem recently too, that's about 3 years of usage. I definitely didn't spend too much for my new Anywhere MX mouse.

I decided to be incredibly anal and purchased the Anywhere MX and the Orochi from Newegg with the intent of returning one of them. I found the Orochi to be incredibly uncomfortable. The MX is slightly ergonomic to the point where it could potentially be used by left and right handers, but it fits my hand perfectly.

The Orochi has a ridge that dug into the corner of my hand and made it quite uncomfortable. There is also the problem of the bluetooth powering down after five seconds to save battery.

The only problem with the MX is the lack of DPI. While 4000 DPI is not necessary for me, 800 is also not enough, especially with the 1900x1080 res of this laptop. I haven't been playing many games lately, although I continued through HL2 recently and found the mouse perfectly adequate. I dont know how it would fair online, probably not nearly as well.

I also prefer a fingertip only grip, and after getting this mouse I am starting to realize that I'm going to be buying only mobile mice in the future. Even my Razer Diamondback feels to big in my hand now. But that's just personal preference.

    A equipment question...

The people who are buying the extra battery (62wh) from Sager (like me), they will need to change the battery to use? or In some world place have an "battery case" that you can use a compatible battery as a external battery?

    Warm regards.

Uhmm... right, this is a little bad.

Sorry but I never owns a notebook, sorry for the dumb question.
So, to switch the two batteries i will need shutdown and change, or it can be without a shutdown?

The razer orochi is hands down the best mouse I've ever purchased in my life. The bluetooth functionality isnt anywhere near as bad as some people make it out to be, and as long as you arent the type of person who likes to smash his hand against a mouse (in a full-on "palm" style grip) when he uses it, it's perfectly comfortable. Even when I try and emulate what others do, the whole palm style grip thing, it doesnt feel as uncomfortable as others make it. Mind you, I do have above average size hands, so it's not like I'm some "dainty" claw style gripper or something, overall I'd say it's a good mix of claw and palm style gripping. I relax my hand on it comfortably when I want to and claw it when I need extremely precise movement.

I came from a broken logitech g500, and this is easily 2-3 times better than I found that one to be.

I have a strange problem with my right thumb, where I don't have a lot of sensation in it due to an accident I had that (makes no sense I know) ended up with my thumb being smashed between two huge logs while moving lumber, and when using the g500 I found that it's differently textured thumb rest irritated me sometimes, and the death adder's glossy left side also irritated me. The orochi, while still having the glossy finish on the sides, doesnt irritate me like the death adder did, so in some way the build is much more appealing to me.

There's really two camps when it comes to the orochi, those who can't for the life of them come to terms with the (barely) smaller footprint compared to the gigantic g500s and such, who palm their mouses when they use them (which is fine but I'll never understand the appeal) and those who don't have such requirements and I think all love the mouse.

The bluetooth lag thing, while disappointing, doesn't bother me because I use it wired ALL THE TIME. Even when I do decide I'd like to go wireless, the lag when you havent moved the mouse in a few seconds doesnt bother me as much as it does some people, especially because I know I can just plug it in if its that bothersome. It's wireless is better than most mice because of the lack of a dongle, and other bluetooth mice dont have as high DPI or additional functionality as the orochi has, and it deserves credit for that. It's especially the best wireless mouse by razer IMHO because the mamba has a massive base dongle that needs to be plugged in for wireless to work, which is a huge no no for laptops, and the mouse is a huge expense just to keep wires off your desktop.

Finally, I just want to mention that the cord that connects the mouse for wired functionality, while having a unique end that looks best connected to the mouse, is just a plain old micro usb cord that can be replaced quite easily if need be, you dont have to buy a whole ne wmouse just to get wired back again, although of course the feel may be different without the nice included orochi cable (although a tad short in length).

The only way you could switch batteries without a shutdown would be to plug in your laptop while changing the battery.

look into the energizer xp18000 portable energy. Its basically a big battery. It has all kinds of adapters for everything(it does include one for the NP5125 socket as i ahve both products) i use it on long flights and such and i can get a few hours our of it depending on what im doing. I havnt fully tested it yet but if your looking for extended battery life this is by far the ebst product i have found. Its rated at up to 6 hours extended time but i dont know what thats rated out or for what kind of usage. Ill test it out with jsut gaming later this week and the jsut surfing and optimus off stuff. Get some tiems to see if worth it but its also very slim and portable. Roguhly 3x6 inches id say about a centimeter to 3/4 inch thick
