Okay to clear up some things.
Bluetooth: Unless you got the Cellular + Bluetooth Min-PCIE Card which you likely did not, than you do not install the Motorola driver. Just hit FN+f12 to turn it on and windows 7 at least will automatically install the drivers. It is a CSR Bluetooth Module.
Bluesoleil likely will work with it but I doubt Toshiba or Broadcom stacks will.

Processor: I went with the i5 540m, I found it was the best with the most effiecency and I have had no desire to have went with the i7. I don't know how much advantage it is over 450m but the price difference is so negligible, I would say it is a future proofing cost.

Storage Drive: I notice the difference with the Momentus XT and have had no problems, what are these problems I have heard of none?

Battery Life: I get 3+ hours of battery life and I have done no optimization. Just turned down the screen brightness. I can gaurntee if you do some optimizations for battery life you can get that much and more. Wen the new batteries ship you should get 5 hours or more.

There is no problem taking out the battery while the notebook is plugged in. Will not hurt anything.

Glad to be of service. :) Enjoy the new laptop!

Speaking of which, toucanater and Podari, have you identified what causes the dropped keystroke in your cases?
If this a model-wide problem, it's gonna be as suck as G51J(x) throttling problem.

I believe someone did mention a few pages ago that it's being caused by HWMonitor, that was my experience as well. When HWM is running, it switches between GPUs about once a second which coincides with the occasional keystroke miss. I've had the laptop for a couple of weeks now and haven't seen this issue at any other time.

I think you do not need a tutorial to write a review. Just describe the basic points like configuration, price, performance, I/O components, N/W, heat, and above all your own feeling/experience. Also some your clicked pics of device from different angles.

So, now we are waiting for your review :D

Part of writing a truly great review is experience with everything else that's out there. I know that's not terribly helpful but unless you have that experience, the best thing you can do that doesn't take anywhere near as long as a thorough review like the guys here at NBR do a lot is general impressions. Basically comment on the colors of the screen, the viewing angles, the brightness, and run some benchmarks even just with something like fraps at medium and high settings.

Fraps is a free program, google it, it will show you fps in games that you run, so just run that and see what FPS it looks like you get.

Run HWMonitor, another free program, and comment on the temperatures it reports both when using the"power saver" windows 7 power profile as well as high performance when running games. Comment on the quality of the touchpad, the feel of the keyboard, the material used on the case and the heat or lack thereof on the palm rest and keyboard.

Run another free program called batterybar, and let it do it's thing, charge the laptop and unplug it (alternate charging and discharging) for a few days and comment on what it's guesstimated battery life times it reports are.

That's really all there is to it until you have a lot of experience with other computers in the same price range or market, at which point you would comment on similar setups and the pros and cons of certain features or lack of features on the 5125 itself.

I think most people can get the core up to 700Mhz, just keep the memory and shader at the same ratio.

I just got my unit and try to install everything (momentus XTfirmware, installing intel rapid something for momentus). And GDI, I got stuck pixel (it's blue while everywhere is black). Can UDPixel fix this?

Oh yeah, about eSATA. I'm noob on this

I got powered external HD with USB 2.0 and eSATA interface. When I plug the cable and turn the HD on, windows can't detect the drive. What should I do now? Do I suppose to install driver to enable eSATA? or eSATA shouldn't be plug and play?
    UPDATE:
Installing Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver enabled the port.

    EDIT: I can't run hardware monitoring :/
HWmonitor and Riva Tuner can't read any value
HWMonitor waits too long and frozen, so I had to kill it
RivaTuner has no hardware monitoring option on my dGPU.

    What should I do?

thought i'm ought to write something in here, i'm reading this thread for a while now, i live in israel, being as it is, getting a descent laptop here is a hard job, the prices go insane, for instance, 800$-1000$ laptops cost about the same in here, but a 1100$ could cost 1400$ in israel, and 1800$ one can be sold for like 3000$ it's crazy.

lucky for me i have family in the states and they are coming to visit soon, after a long research i chose the saper np 5125 for it's hybrid abilities and great price, and the talks here in the forum also gave me confidence for buying a laptop from a bit less known company like sager.

so keep it up, and i'll try to help once i get my lappy aswell :), the first one i buy i must add.

    this is my spec:
    fHD screen
    core i5 540m
    4GB ram
    500GB 7200 rpm hdd
    intel centrino 6300 wificard
no os, and a spare larger battery.

Justin did you getmy latest e-mail about the money? it was sent 2 days ago and i got no reply...

Yeah, memory should be left as is most of the time, since it's the easiest part to damage when you OC a GPU. Are you sure dGPU active all the time ?

BTW, do you get HWMonitor and RivaTuner working fine on 258.96 driver?

uhg im so confused i seem to be unable to mod the 330m GPU with riva tuner and when i do it with Nvidia system tools i actually decrease framerates and performance when i boost core and shader speeds. What am i doing wrong and why wonr rivatuner let em tweak?

Update on my GPU monitoring status:
I downloaded HWMonitor 1.16, now it displays the GPU correctly.
    weird.......
Maybe I should urge the riva tuner developer to release the new version..

And yeah... I noticed my dGPU and iGPU LED idicator flip-flopping when running HWMonitor... and noticed some key strokes dropping too...

    EDIT:
Another program (or should I say Windows7 gadget) to show that you got dropped key strokes when switching from iGP<->dGP frequently:
    http://windows7gadgets.net/gadgets/system/gpu-observer/

Here are 3 lines I typed in notepad when the gadget is running
The quick brwn fox jumps over the lazy dog.
he quic bron fox jumpsover the laz dog
The quick brw fox jumpsover the lz ydog

I wonder if other laptop that has nVidia Optimus technology enabled also have this kind of problem.

EDIT 2: tried to make a thread on hardware subforum:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...-help-nvidia-optimus-gpu-monitoring-apps.html
See if it's the problem with technology or simply driver.

The hardware button on the sager shuts off the optimus ability, correct? so if you dont want optimus dropping keystrokes, shut it off, and then when you need it for a movie/game turn it on?

Yes you can, but optimus is not dropping keystrokes. It has worked fine for everyone else. Some buggy software seems to be the culprit. Which if this is the case you should stop using said software until it is fixed.

Did you read what I wrote?
Flip-floping happens when I have a GPU monitoring application running.
No, it's not "worked fine for everyone else". There are at least 2 other people have been reporting they got dropped keystroke, 1 is most likely caused by dGPU<->iGPU frequent switching from HWMonitor.

Has anyone played around with the webcam at length yet? I've been toying with it and it seems far worse than I anticipated. Just tested Skype at my girlfriend's place and, even being on the same network as her, it was choppy as all hell. Is it just a piece of crap and I should accept that? It's not a big deal ... I just want to know if this is a fixable issue or just something to live with.

Did you read what I wrote?! Stop using buggy software that is not working properly...
There is no problem with the driver or the system it is the software you are using. It is very simple to fix, stop using the software and report the problem to the person that maintains the software.

No one else has had problems with dropped keystrokes but people running this kind of software.

Thanks for your shallow insight for resolving the matter.

I use RivaTuner and GPU Monitor on 2 different machines and they worked fine on these 2. No reason to force me to stop me using this software on this machine. If this machine has a problem with the softwares, then it's also the problem to be taken care of.

Yep it's garbage. My old Dell Studio had a MUCH better cam at the same megapixel. Also I was told the webcam mic is almost impossible to hear. I did tweak it a little and they were able to hear me eventually but they said the mic is no where near as good as the one on the Studio.

Okay I will try 1 more time because you seem to be missing the point.

The software... likely has some issue with this hardware or is simply not built for use with Optimus. You should not use this software until it is fixed.
When software does not work properly you should report the problem in the manner requested by the software maintainer (a forum post, an email, a ticket on the bugtracker, or whatever).

Did those other 2 machines include Optimus, nVIDIA GT 330m, What ever motherboard the Clevo B1500M has, and the same firmware as the machine you are having trouble with?? If they did not then who cares if the software worked on them...

The machine has no problem with the software, thats not how programming works... The SOFTWARE has a problem with the machine.

I am also not forcing you to not use the software, go ahead but I can tell you that it is not good to flip on and off the power to the dGPU like that.

So you can ignore what I am saying if you want, but don't try and lead other people down a path of illogical reasoning and damaging activities to their computers.

I hate to be late to the party, but maybe this will still help.

You do not have to shut down, change the battery and reboot. You just have to Hibernate, switch, and wake from Hibernation. It is much faster :)

Has there been confirmed battery life tests on this notebook?
How much more life will the extended battery supply?

How is the build quality on it also? My friend has an older Sager but I felt that they were pretty solid for what it is and the NP5125 is definitely spec'd right.
