Then you can print it out, or print out those pages that you want on paper.

My NP5973 came with a minibooklet and an old (Dec 2007) manual on CD.

Does anyone know if there's going to be a new edition, corresponding to the NP5973 - although not that many things have changed?

Try the manual that can be downloaded from Clevo's website - it appears to be dated Jan. 14, 2008. The manual can be downloaded from this webpage, or directly from this link(sftp) or this link(ftp).

Mine came with a paperprinted user's guide :p Guess thats the one hanko panko also is talking about :)

Maybe it is because im a "stupid" dane and we like to have things on paper :p

Naa, think its up to which reseller you get it from :) The one I had with my comp contains English/German/Spanish/French/Italian, so its nothing specially designed for Danish.

Its printed november '07 and it mentions that there is an extended usersmanual on the CD, with drivers and such, also, its not made for the NP5973, as it does only contain pictures without the extreme casing and only referes to the T7100-T7700 cpu's.

did you try all the usb-ports? I've read somewhere that there are different usb-ports, one with more power than the other, is that correct?

Ive heard something about that aswell, but thought that was mainly desktops, with the extra USB-plugs you would be able to get through the motherboard (either thoes USB's sitting in the front of a cabinet or otherwise cable connected away from the portconnections that is on a motherboard)

But I remember that my old Acer Travelmate 4500, wouldnt accept external 2,5" hd's in the front-faced USB without extra power.

Yes, I tried all 4 ports. I had to reboot once because it did something to all of them. Luckily, that fixed it. I've been reluctant to try the usb cable again.

Although it wasn't what I was referencing originally. I did get a Manual with my Sager5793 from PowerNotebooks.
My intent was to test the cooler with this new laptop.

The one page that NZXT has available on their web site just shows you where to plug in the cables. I think I can figure that out. There are no stickers or anything on the device that tell you it's power requirements.
If I don't get a response today from NZXT I'm sending it back to NewEgg.

I understand we live in a society that should be going more paperless, but to not have a decent manual for download at their website is inexcusable. No warranty info, no power requirements,ect...
It's kind of sad to see such a well put together product suffer from a lack of follow through on marketing.
I mean really how long would it have taken 1 person to sift through the documentation they have and put together a "larger" more comprehensive manual. Besides, for $70 bucks I should have gotten a power adapter with it.
Excuse me I think I have to go pack something and head to the post office.

Are you sure the power surge message isn't the result of a faulty device you are trying to plug in? Only time I had that message is when I plugged my phone's USB into my pc. It turned out the cable was shorted or defective.

I've sent another email to eurocom. hopefully they'll answer - I can't understand why they ignore a potential customer.

Sandman101: what's the resolution of your display on that configuration of yours? have you tested that notebook with crysis?

Hi to everybody, I have been ready this forum in search of some aswers on buying a new Laptop.
Thanks to the posts of everybody in this forum i made my decision.
After a lot of wandering around in the US(retailers) i decided not to risk another bad expirience (customs)and stick to a EU reailer.
    And Kobaltcomputers it is.
So now that my order has ben put and paid for, joined the forum and made my first post.
Does anyone owning a Kobalt Mojave XI can tell me if they come with the fingerprint reader standard?
Ill post some new bench when i get it

Has anyone noticed the amount of spam, phishing attacks and emails containing viruses that we are all experiencing these days?

I don't know how much of it Eurocom or other laptop companies get, but we at PNB filter over 30,000 emails a day with only a few hundred of them being legitimate emails.

We also get email replies to customers kicked back because the customer didn't type in their email address correctly, and sometimes our replies to their emails get caught in their filters. Please remember to Whitelist any site that you email if you want to be sure to have the reply get past your filters.

Bottom line is if you don't receive an email reply don't think you are necessarily being ignored. Email is NOT the most reliable way to communicate due to all the reasons mentioned above...and that is not an exclusive list.

So, if you don't get a reply to your email I would strongly recommend you go back to the old fashioned way of communicating and pick up the telephone. Virtually all vendors have Toll Free phone numbers...so please don't be afraid to use them :)

for the CPU i would recommend 1. CPUZ doesnt eat a lot of resources when you run it.

For checking temps for the GPU i would recommend 2. RivaTuner

and of course 3. that fuzzy Donut app. Fuzzy Donut App run that while checking temps with the other apps running at the same time.

Aparently fingerprint reader in not standard on all Clevo M571RU-U, more like a factory option, and the guys at Kobalt decided against it.
it was more a curiosity than a need.
When we can securely use that tech. to confirm Credit Card rightfull owner, instead of so many numbers and passwords, then i would get one.

Well the sound on this model isn't the best around, but it is okay, for just normal office use and gaming on the go, but you would really want to get your hands on a headset or a external speaker system, for using it at home, either for music or gaming. As far as I know, there ain't any "subwoofer" in the m57x series.

One thing to check tho is the SRS-wow sound, if it is on or not, as it makes the sound miles better when it's on :) Check it with fn+2 with some music playing (or any sound for that matter), you would hear that one setting, make it sound like the speakers sits inside the lappy, the other gives a much cleaner sound :)

I can tell you that this is one department this laptop falls short. I used the tweaks I found in this thread and it helped a lot, but they are not impressive speakers. I am currently looking for a good wireless headset to use with it. I have found a few but purchasing that is lower on my list right now.
I have returned the NZXT Cryo to NewEgg. Although not their fault, the more I messed with it the more I found out it was just a big hunk of metal to me.
I am looking at the Zalman NC2000 right now.
My next purchase will be a Pelican 1495CC as I travel a lot and work offshore.
A few more more purchases and this laptop will be completely set up for me. :)

I've got an answer from eurocom - so it was just me being impatient. I'm very pleased with their flexibility.

As the fans are at the top of M57RU I guess it’s best to pull the notebook down a bit on Zalman NC2000 as shown here

The onboard speakers are just enough so that you can hear the music/gaming music even in a noisy room. Granted, not very crisp at max volume and the bass is sort of lacking even if it has a mini-subwoofer,but they do the job.
I went to a picnic with it and I could listen to music for about 3 hours without a problem(lid closed.)

    Were the test runs identical?
I mean, I get different results every time I run 3dmark,even if they`re off by just 5-10 points.
If I shutdown all non essential apps, I get about 5600-5700 points with the 7950GTX, and the 7950GTX is stated to have 5200-5300 points.
I hardly think SP1 does anything for gaming. Sure, file transfer, memory usage and sharp responses are improved in SP1 , but I don`t think gaming on it will change.

but if I would have ordered a notebook with SLI it would have been with either Xotic or powernotebooks.
    yes, eurocom ships internationally.

I opened up my M570RU last week, in an attempt to locate the revision number. Unfortunatly, I was unable to locate anything that could tell me which revision I have. Since I'm considering upgrading to a 8800M, it is pretty important to know whether my laptop can handle it! I bought mine end of august/start of september 2007. Can anybody tell me where to look EXACTLY (maybe Justin or paladin? Or anybody else who opened up their notebook :) )

    Thx a bunch already :)

@Kwakkel , since you bought it in September, it`s most likely the 5791 version. The 5792 was introduced to fully support the 8800M GTX Gpu.
Now, remember, any Ru will suport the 8800M GTX JUST FINE,as long as you don`t need S3 = standby/sleep.
If you REALLY MUST have the sleep, you`ll have to pay another 50 or 100$ .Which is NOT worth it.
The card is 750$ or something like that and it`s pretty expensive as it is.
But again, the 8800M GTX will WORK in any 579x.

    Atm, I'm stuck with a 8700M, not with a 7950 like Eleron :)
    8800M > 7950 GTX > 8700M

Thanks Eleron, but in some other thread, I read the 8800M was only supported as from rev2 or something :( ... I guess I better make sure before I splash out €750 (EU sux :p) on something I may not even be able to use :p
Thanks for the link theriko: I'll take a look this evening (can't see the pic at work ^^)

I finally know what the problem was. All you Europeans ordering from Canada listen: If your bank insist that you provide an IBAN number and the bank in Canada insist on (rightfully) that they don't have an IBAN number, you can go around it yourself: when your bank insist on an IBAN number you should first write the "bank institution number"/"bank identifier number" which is 3 digits then you should write the transit number which is 5 digits and then the account number which is 7 digits. All in all 15 digits.
Here is a page which sums up the problem of transferring money in and out of Europe.

Exactly. The 8800M GTX just won`t cut it for me. I`d pay 1000$ for an upgrade to a card that can do 150% what the 8800M GTX can . No questions asked.
Nice thing, Prasad007. Just don`t ban me :D

It's more of a pointless upgrade going from a 7950GTX if it works for you. It would be silly buying a new laptop without it though.
