So that means that when you play Starcraft at 640x480 it gets stretched all the way across your WUXGA screen? This makes it look better?
I know this probably isn't the best thread for discussing this. I just want to make sure I understand what you mean.

No you can chose to keep the same ratio so you have black bar on both side... anyway at the end everyone is different... but for me it was clear that i would play old game and emulator game... and this laptop have to last at least 4year... so big native resolution at low resolution in game...
but yeah in windows if you keep the native resolution, its very small, but with time you get used to it... if programer can use this resolution all day long, why not me? -
My Penryn machine will be in on Monday. My review should be done by the end of the month.

Can someone please download speedfan or use whatever you got already, and let me know what theier hard drive temps are at idle, and then after intense gaming. MY temps are getting up to 57C! ( The hard drive). Im thinking I might have an issue here.
-
Sounds about right. Do you have a 7200 or 5400 rpm drive? I have a 5400 one and temps on high activity reach about 53-54...so no need to worry

i hope they are for your sake. waiting one more day for a freaking holiday would drive me nuts. -

I feel like we need to add more screens of games and such, keep this tread alive!... Im going to download a bunch of demos and post some screens!
-
One thing that I have noticed is that its really easy to take out the power cord, so much tat sometimes it comes out with a minimal movement. Has anyone had the same problem or is it just mine?
-
Mine stays well placed inside. Doesn`t come out no matter how I turn or move the laptop. Comes out only when I say so
-
Mine stays inside too... not to lose and not to tight...
Only comes out if take it...
-
Yeah, I would really appreciate it if you guys could give me more benchmark test and other stuff.

Whats the best Notebook Cooler for the m57xru? i want one that my 17inch laptop would fit in... it can be silent or not... doesnt matter the laptop make noise anyway...
-
If you can find it, the best 17" notebook cooler is:
- Zalman ZM-NC2000 (just released for 17"+ notebooks)
the previous ZM-NC1000 is still great... just has slight overhang but all footing in still within the cooler's stage.
Pics here:

On my M570RU I have an CoolerMaster Notepal Infinite:
It´s size is basically the same as an 17" Widescreen notebook...
-
Great thx guys... ill look around and try to find those... i have so much thing to buy... 100 dvd... 100 cd.. gamepad... laptop cooler... and probable another bag... because the one from eurocom isnt that great... it do the job but.. it doesnt look... great? how im supose to look professional with that..
-
I just tested the Cooler Master Infinite... its pretty good as well.
Although the old Zalman ZM-NC1000, did a better job of cooling, for my beast anyways.
And the ZM-NC2000 should be even better. -
Audigy, that`s quite the OC you have there...how are the temps btw ?
-
-
-
Naticus not to scare you or anything but you might want to consider not keeping it on your lap anymore, that is if you want to have any offsprings in the future.
Just google laptop on lap can cause impotence... -
-
Considering 8700M GT´s lame bus, 6500marks are just great... OC like hell, nVidia have understimated G84 core power... even on desktop ones...
58/59ºC with OC after 2hours gaming(TimeShift btw). I will post some RivaTuner temp screens later on.
Remember that I´ve replaced the tooth paste that Clevo puts on with some AS5. That helps a bit.
-
30mins of gaming(stable on 57ºC)
-
But if you really want to use it on your lap, I recommend to get something like a "Lap Desk" -
-
-
Audigy with that score, your gaming results should kick the hell out of my system... I got 5389, but I`ve never did any OC as Vista 64 doesn`t let me(paired with 169.12 right now). If any of you can point me in the right direction,I`d apreciate it...since now with the full speed fan thing temps are awesome So plenty of room for OCing...hell,if you raised your score with close to 2000 points I might just raise mine to a 7000
-
thx -
Just like this:
That will permit that non signed drivers can be loaded to the kernel.
The only problem is that you will need to do it every single time that you start your machine.
Sandly there is no other way of doing this without that process...
Then start RivaTuner and OC your baby
Start slowly, chose only on component do OC, or the GPU or the memory. With that process you will determinate the max OC that the component can do, independently of each. When you reach that component max, pass to the other component. On the final put then on their max, and see if they are stable.
For stability testing, Crysis is fantastic... or any other high resource game.

ok... couple questions... how can you tell your video driver version? i go into device manager and look at the driver version and it says this: 6.14.11.6743
how are people getting 167.43? do i have the same thing?
also whats the problem with the fan? i cant seem to get this rig warm enough for it to kick into high. every so often a fan kicks in (kinda loud) but its on for like 2 seconds and shuts off.... i am working on trying to post a fan video but without the firmware upgrades i cant get the fan to come on. =P -

Just For anyone who purchased their 570ru through PCMW, they have the fan firmware update (the one w/ multiple settings) that Sager also has, just email them w/ the order ID. Weird thing though is that mine already seems to have Fan toggle, only to High, and I got mine like the 1st wk of Jan... I asked them about it and they confirmed that they had it at that time...
EDIT: So Sorry, wasnt up to date that Sager had put direct dload link on their webpages.
