Nono, I mean what program are you using to full load your processor?

    Try this.
    http://cpxazn.freepgs.com/Prime95.rar
Do the blend test and leave it for 5-10 minutes.

It could be my heatsink because mine was scratched up on the bottom when I got it.

Also try using coretemp for your temperatures

speedfan is good, also give "notebook hardware control" set it to advanced mode ( or you ownt have but 1/8 the options), it has so many options and clock sliders. Its probably one of the best programs I have tried in the past year or so.

    ok, will try tommorow.

In speed fan, is the temp under chart core 0 + core 1 or just the highest core or the average or what?

Hmm, I was wondering, does anyoone have any wallpaper 4 the m57ru? All other branded gaming laptops such as XPS, Asus G2s, Toshiba and Alienware have custom wallpapers. Does anyone have one for the 57ru? I submitted a request to nbr-graphics to make them 4 us, ill see what they say.

Got it from xotic, I applied mx-2 instead of arctic silver, which is better. The revision is the one before the one they are releasing on monday.

Will hopefully have an exhaustive review (like my 5791 one) before the end of February.

Ok, I made a simple wallpaper (I personally think It sucks, but i did it in like 10 minutes free lunch time I had, for only my school computers have photoshop) 4 the m570ru. I am got at image editing, but I am not very creative . If anyone has any ideas 4 a cool wallpaper, just post and ill see if I could do it.

    hkman,

you better get ready to add this to your F.A.Q.:
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=208249

Its about time that the M570RU gets a Fan Toggle and gets the fan noise issue remedied (to a point).

With the Fan Toggle, the noise will not be as noticeable if Toggled to Max Speed... which will make a constant sound of air... rather than it being annoying from going on and off (on Auto Speed).

I have mine on at Max Speed all the time, the constant sound just becomes apart of the background, so it does not bother those around me at all (at school, class, library, etc).

And its great for better cooling... especially for those like want to OC.

Now I can say that this notebook is as close to bang for the buck as possible. :)

i imagine this is going to sound obnoxiously impatient... but how long does it take for xotic to process a secured order (in your experiences)? i know each situation is different and now that i've placed my order i'm antsy for updates. i called in my card number 6 hours ago and haven't seen an update. i realize i'm being antsy and probably unrealistic but i was hoping xotic might order my lappy from sager today so i might get it by the end of next week. =P

Note: They usually have to test your custom build before they ship. I know this may be hard, but just be patient like everyone else...

i dont even think xotic placed the order to have it built =P i wouldn't have bothered with xotic's 'secured deposit' if it wouldn't get me the laptop a few days "early". i gotta admit though, i love xotic's customer service. I'm just being impatient. ;)

It should be very simple.... since the notebook is using a standard optical drive bay.

Just the bezel of the optical drive will need to be swapped to the new drive (for aesthetics) :)

I thought it'd be hard to find one , considering the design of the 5790/1/2/3's thin lines.

    Hi Sager Owners!

I am a proud owner of this laptop too. Everything is fine - just one issue is bothering me - for whatever reason the fingerprint reader applications tends to consume up to 1 or 2 GB of my 4 GB RAM - and the CPU starts to work very hard. Could anyone help me with that?

Awesome, because I'm probably ordering there soon. But are the fans as bad with a less powerful card? I might drop down to the 8700 GT, because to be honest, I don't think I really need all the power of the 8800. But once I choose between the two, is that permanent?

Take the 8800... it worth it... even if you are a casual gamer... you wanna play at high res right? it worth it... the noise of the fan arent that bad if i compare it with other laptop... all of them make noise when your playing...

I looked at a Clevo M570RU with 8800M GTX today. I felt vibrations all over the keyboard, guessing from the fans. I have nothing like that on my present laptop. Clevo-owners, do you feel (annoying) vibrations?

Has anyone tried to undervolt a M570RU with 8800M? Is undervolting the CPU and putting the GPU on power save enough to avoid the fans from running during surfing/word processing?

Allright, just have to get this out (frustration; those interested please read on ;)):

I'm now at my THIRD (3rd!!!) M570RU with WUXGA glossy screen and again I have a dead pixel.. wait.. now there are even 2 dead pixels..

I don't get it, the first two I had, had a dead pixel at the exact same spot. They also had the same screen model, so I assumed there would be some kind of production error with that screen model (LGPhilips LPLB... or LBLP... if I remember correctly).

Now I have a different screen model, but this time it even has 2 dead pixels.

So, even with having dead pixel warranty, I have the feeling I'm not getting anywhere.

Now my question to you: Is having dead pixels very common on the M570RU? Is it just bad luck? Or is my reseller getting all the dead pixel ones from his supplier (who in turn sells the barebones also, but under a different brand name: XXODD)?

That just had to come out.. :D

Well... your lucky... or blind or lucky to be blind... for me i had a dead pixel and i sent it back to eurocom... they will change it and test it for 2 days... and i told them that if i had to send it again it will be for a refund... so the LCD should be ok...

with the refund ill make a desktop and buy a cheap acer laptop...

Well saying the word "refund" might just do the trick. But still, my reseller is bound to the dead pixel warranty, he sold it to me in the first place. And he has good service, sending me three notebooks already has to mean he wants to deliver a good product.. but still, you can miss ONE dead pixel.. but TWO this time? It's a shame, such a nice notebook and one persistent problem.

Most annoying part of it is that this time the two dead pixels are less than a mm apart, making it even more visible...

You have to remember that dead pixels can occur at any time. If it is inspected and there are no dead pixels, the next time it is turned on, there can instantly be one.

I always thought that with a LCD screen you either have a dead pixel from the very very first use and that a dead pixel does not suddenly appear... (let alone suddenly disappear :D)

Dead pixels can come and go. I have had some appear on me out of nowhere. My Nintendo DS was flawless when I first got it but after a month one popped up out of nowhere.

true... they do not appear... they are here from the beggining... thats why a "dead pixel warranty" is useless... except if you are really harsh witht he lcd... no pixel will die by itself... just look at all those old LCD monitor they do not have dead pixel...

Reseller didnt took time to look at it... thats all...

Ah well, maybe you only noticed it after a month (had the same with my DS too). My sister saw that pixel from the beginning and never told me untill I found out for myself.

Anyway, it's still a shame and I will have to return my notebook again.

But I don't want to hijack this thread :D Question was if dead pixels are common on the M570RU with WUXGA.

A lot of people seem to choose WUXGA. Anyone regret it? No stores around me carry WUXGA laptops, so I have yet to see one in person, but my screen at work is a 19" at 1280 x 1024 and seems pretty spacious. I would have thought a smaller screen with an even larger resolution would mean insanely small text. I'm on the internet a lot, and I don't want to squint all the time. And what about older games? I still play some games like Neverwinter Nights, which I don't think goes beyond 1024 x 768. Does that mean it's going to be all warped?

The warping you refer to is only apparent if the screen resolution is not scaled right to fit your screen. If the screen is 16:10, the resolution should be set to a 16:10 one to get a picture that is not warped. So yes, playing a game that is not widescreen on a widescreen display causes warping.
