They are already heading that direction. My guess is within three years you would be able to buy GPU for yourself for some laptops... Why because nVidia is already trying to standardized the notebook GPU, for instance the MXMs.

As Gophn said yea! they most prolly would fit!! :D

I'm personally waiting for nvidia to release mGTX 280 with at least 45-50% increased performance over 8800m before i upgrade!! lol! :D

I sure hope nvidia succeeds in standardizing MXMs!! :)

Then i'll buy eVGA mGTX 280!! lol! :D maybe an xfx or something!! :p

    Justin, Donald, anybody :)

Is there any news on upgrading an old M570RU to a 9800M GT/GTX?
Is it possible (I read somewhere it was)? I flashed the bios from V.02 to v.08 recently.
And how much does it cost, if your company sells the card seperately?

    Thanks in advance!

Asked Clevo Service Center, and they said currently no plan doing that. But if big resellers want it they will do it too.

yes there are more than one: Chiligreen, PC Systems Evolution, Osiris, Nexoc etc... this here are in Germany.

In Italy there is Santech but they actually have only the model with 8800M GTX and the one with 9800M GT is not based on a Clevo.

I'll have to check with Sager to see if the M57xRU can support the 9800M GTX...from what I recall, it may not be able to. You can certainly use the 9800M GT, though...it's just an 8800M GTX. If you have an NP5791 or lower, you'll lose S3 standby functionality unless you have Sager upgrade the motherboard.

Yes the M570RU supports both 9800M GT and GTX, as stated on Clevo homepage and on Chiligreen (OEM customer) homepage

Can you supply links? Normally, if Clevo knows, Sager does as well, and we were informed by Sager this morning that they do not know at this point whether the NP5793/2/1/0 can support the 9800M GTX.

Checking Clevo's page, there is no more listing for the M570RU outside of their support page. Are you sure you aren't thinking of the M570 TU?

Well, could you do that pretty please? :D
And, equally important, could you let me/us know if and/or when you (or Sager) will start selling the 9800M GT or GTX seperatly? And if you do, what the price would be? :)
Atm I have the 8700M, and I think it's time to upgrade :)

    Greatly appreciate your efforts :)

Anyone who would like to upgrade their 8800M GTX to a 9800M GTX would be wasting money as a 10% performance increase is just not worth it in my opinion. You could always flash the bios to see a 9800M GT if you want to feel any better.

an 8700M going to a 9800M GT (or GTX) would be a massive gain.

Hey everybody, I have a question about the M570RU that I think fits here...

What is the black 3,5mm output used for? In the RealTek settings, it's called "Digital Out", but when I plug something in it, no message from realtek pops up like it normally does (where you can chose what you connected)...

    New EC firmware 1.00.10.

When system working temperature reaches fan on point but the system can’t receive normal fan speed information, it will alarm for one minute then shut down.

    NO Fn+1/3 function.

It's saying that when the cpu/gpu reaches the temp that the fan should turn on at, if the system can't tell that the fan is running (ie either because it's not, or because the fan sensor is broken) then the system will alarm and then shut down to avoid your laptop melting. It's a good thing, believe me.

Let´s wait until Sager release their modified version(Fn1 + Fn3)... so far nothing on their servers, only version 1.00.09.

Maybe I will send them one mail asking for the new .10 version.

Would anyone know where i would be able to find a copper casing for a 8800m GTX, I just recently purchased a 8800m GTX but its out of a D900C so it has the different casing. I'm replacing my 7950 GTX and i dont believe the copper casing of that will work.
