    Laptops are a pain, nah?
But I`d rather upgrade a system that I know , with a perfect screen, than buy another one and deal with the waiting again.

am i correct that to run a t9300 i would have to do the mobo upgrade or does it work on the old one?

I think the penryns ,since they`re supported in the Santa Rosa platform will work regardless.

no not all of them a lot of mobo's needed firmware updates for the penryn's to work right

I don't know about the older revisions, but I got the most recent 5793 in mid-March and I use sleep on a regular basis. On ONE occasion when I tried to sleep my lappy, it went to sleep, then woke up about 5 seconds later. I was in a rush so I just turned it off (boot time is pretty damn fast even with all the crap I'm running. FYI: I use PerfectDisk to keep my system files neat), so I don't know if it would have slept if i tried once more or if it would have done the same again. Interesting, but I don't know if it was hardware or software related. (Vista?, :s)

im curious though now about the sleep why a lot of people now are saying it does work ..?? personally if i can get the gpu and drop in a t9300 id just get the gpu and forget sending my system away.. im debating on selling this just because of the cost to upgrade and i really would like a 15" but if i know for sure i can get a penryn and sleep (the wife is always using it even though i tell her not to she clicks sleep arghhhhh id have to get strict about it i guess or i guess i can change the settings for it)... i do have a perspective buyer and then i could always re-order a 5793... but man what a hassle and my system i know works and i have 0 dead pixels etc...also the silver trim though i def didnt like it at first seems to be growing on me

I've got mine since Yesterday evening, didn't do much on it 'cause I first want to split the HDD in 2 parts.

But I will need to work some things out: the "scroll" on the touchpad isn't working, got to find where you can deactivate Vista asking if you want to continue and I'm gonna benchmark to be sure everything is working fine.

i didnt see it in there but maybe i missed it.. you may want to add that unofficially the 5791 model can run the penryn's including the x9000 with a bios update. sager says it can not but i have 2 confirmed people doing this very thing.. if i missed it then i didnt read very well.. lol

My stock highest score was 9206, my average though was from 8800-9100, my highest was 10137 with the cpu 2.0ghz to 2.45ghz, actually the cpu temps didnt get above 65C/68C which is really nice actually.

Kewl, I might just consider OCing the CPU myself.
Do you have a guide or a program you used for OCing ?

Remember, default comparison resolution for the tests is 1280x1024. I know you can't do that with a WXGA, without an external screen. That may be why your score was skipped.

Check the first page of this thread. It's been updated with the program for OCing the CPU.

I got my M57RU DIVINE-X today! and I couldn't find any dead pixels.
one question though, I don't know if the drivers which come with the dvd are already installed or not? (all of them became "grayed out" when I opened the window)

They`re installed. But you should be able to "ungray" them by using Unlock or something.
XoticPc installs them so I don`t think Eurocom doesn`t.

Using stock drivers (167.43 or 44, which I think is best...) the 8800M GTX automatically downclocks for optimal battery life. That is why you can get like 2+ hours of life ;) (if you got screen on low and no wireless...) even though it is a large, power-mongering system (I feel for 9262 owners though :( )

HKman, I`ve tried that, but the jack on the left gives no sound and the one on the right (mic jack) gives a poor distorted sound.(with the realtek manager set to auto-detect and identify thingy).
My audio jack has been dead since nov last year and I totally forgot about it.
