Well we really won't now for sure until someone actually gets their hands on a released 9280, some pre-production models, like test models dont allow for them

now this is the answer ill waiting for... i found the review before as well, thats it i choose sager np9280 rather than Asus w90... thnx man for the post -

In relation to the above post, ATI cards will always do well in benchmarks as they are more optimised for progs like 3DMark06. Similarly Nvidia cards will generally do better in games, not always of course but Nvidia drivers are much much better than ATI - they evolve their drivers more and work with game developers much more than ATI do. Crysis runs better on Nvidia cards full stop so it's not surprising that a single 280M with i7 CPU does pretty well vs 4870s.
-
I'm sorry i forgot to answer that Mrbutterbiscuits...I have to make a new one it wont switch over... -
hope that i will be reading a review on np9280 at the end of this month ...
as soon as the review reports positive result over the asus wp90 , i'll order this beast immediately
but for now, i have to enjoy my ready-to-throw-away laptop -
You guys forget that Crysis is totally optimized for nvidia? lol.
-
1.Sager have 1 GB VGA single card and Asus had 2 512 Vga card (2GPU) but
remember not all games can read SLI,Crosfire
2.Sager have 3 MP camera, Asus have 2 MP
3.Sager have an option 3 bay hard disk and raid option, Asus had 2 only no
option.
4.Sager have i7 , Asus had Quad Core -
im gonna have to dissagree...crysis is pretty much good for both cards... check out some of the crysis benchmarks ran through out the nbr forums... maybe before the patching and all, but now... they are pretty much right there...all but the 3870's.
-
2. Both laptop has 2mp webcam.
3. You can do raid on both. -
1. W90 support SLI/CF, D901F doesn't, but not all games support SLI/CF anyway. Score: 1-1
2. W90 have 2MP camera, D901F have 3MP. Score: 1-2 for D901F.
3. W90 can only do RAID-0/1/0+1, but D901F can also do that plus RAID-5. Score: 1-3 for D901F.
PS: AFAIK, D901F does use 3MP camera. M980NU on the other hand still use 2MP. CMIIW... -
-
and there are a bunch of them floating around here. matter of fact...not just them either... -

1.So, not having a second card, yet still get the point? A single 4870 ought to be close to 280m GTX, at very least; a pair of them ensure that you get at least the single card performance when game doesn't support multipe GPUs; and when there is support, it should scale well.
2.where did you read that? by default there is 2mp. anything extra costs premium. In theory, having more pixels in the same space could be asking for trouble; though would have to wait and see.
3.He didn't say anything about Raid 5. Though having more than one HDD is good, and tripple HDD is a plus.
Anyhow, those two machines are targeted at different people. One for workstation environment, with sufficent gaming power, and another more for gaming & entertainment. -
on that note would anyone know which of the two would process and edit video better?

The Core i7's in the D900F will be nice to run PhysX off of.
-
ok ! i'm in love with the d900f now.
i'm currently living in California, USA, so which seller should i look for ? which store offer the best price and fast shipping to CA ?
one more thing, if i order one from the store you recommend right now, what is the estimated time arrival -
-

Cant wait!!!
-
-
so no one has this np9280 yet?
i am so close to order one myself but i want to see some reviews(stability, performance, bettery life, temperature, benchmark etc) first b4 i make decision. if it doesn't meet my expectation i am willing to wait one more year for octacore + dx11 card equipped model. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
I completely agree, Im going to wait and see what Alienware has to offer and then see some reviews and information
-
I'm waiting into the new W90's batch, D900F reviews, M980NU reviews, the new alienware... Looks that i will have a long way till take a decision lol.

I wan't a good gaming 17", I dont plan on going bigger, and it has to be upgradeable (especially GPU) Will do dual's but a single card like the 280m will be fine, has to have a solid cooling system, and I want it to look pretty stylish, that is the one reason I haven't ordered my Sager 9280 yet... and if I do I'm going to have it painted and have some laser etching done
-
Technology progresses fast and new stuff always is appearing in the horizon. -
-
-
is clevo gonna release BIOS update for window 7
i really hate vista -
-
Windows 7 runs fine on all current models, so no BIOS update needed.
-
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Sorry let me change my SIG, I was going to order... and I probably still am... But I'm holding off until I see some reviews, and what other choices I have seeing as Alienware has announced their new line
-
I'm gonna wait the reviews and thats it (i can't wait much more anyway because I'm like... computerless lol) -
well now...that's why i can wait...i have about 10 of them floating around...
wonder if the new models are going to be as problematic as the asus is.... -
Larry@LPC-Digital Company Representative
Well at least Clevo is posting drivers for the D900F. Good sign.
http://www.clevo.com.tw/en/e-services/download/ftpOut.asp?Lmodel=D900F<ype=9&submit=+GO+ -
have a bad felling it will have delays on this baby
-
they both could be just as problematic as well...hope they wait it out before putting it out...if they haven't resolved any unforeseen issues yet.
-
We could all sit here and speculate to our hearts content and it really won't change reality when the laptop is released.
Every little known fact of the laptop right now, is just the part of the iceberg above water. No one really knows how deep the iceberg really goes and what it really looks like...
...Now I need ice-cream, dang it, need better analogies. -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Ok ummm... You can look at the rabbit hole as long as you want, but you will never know how deep it is unless you go in
-
This was posted on another site from a guy who bought from Exotic PC...
"I wanted to give you an update that I just found out about. The ETA on the 9280 will be closer to the end of May. There is an unreleased change that they are making that will be worth waiting a few extra days for. I will fill you in as soon as everything is released officially and I can say more."
Anybody know what they are changing?..damn sure hope it's something that it has something to do with dual graphics...haha -
MrButterBiscuits ~Veritas Y Aequitas~
Probably Drivers... but we can hope...we can hope
-
-
that would be sweet!!!
Those resellers know what it is...Surely would have to be more than drivers wouldn't ya think?
But i guess it could be though...SLI sounds better than drivers...I can download them myself -
-
Who knows, who knows... -
