I don't see Sager going and making their powerful laptop, then not giving it the ability for overclocking, but we shall see. :D

At the very least it will have extreme cpu multiplier overclocking...

Knock on a forest's worth! Unfortunately, I cannot be as sanguine as you; from what I've seen over the years, Clevo tends to take a rather conservative design philosophy in many respects, and I would be inclined to bet against any such capability rather than for it - hopefully I will be proven wrong on this (it happens often enough anyway, so I'm quite used to it :D).

The guys at XoticPC gave us screenshots of an i7-965 equipped Sager 9280, but not once mentioned overclockability.

So my speculation is that it's locked, and they're keeping quiet to not spoil sales.

    handle...yes.
play 97 percent games better than a w90/np9262/m980nu....not likely.
x3 terran conflict seems to be one of those games where it seems to use only one video card.

why? it had i7, 12 GB RAM, 280M more than np9262. i think it will play more better than np 9262 ..but with w90 i had to say np9280 will be loose behind but not far thought... Again...we can't see real story until the beast is steeping their feet on the market.

well...considering im holding most of the gaming records right now. and i have a 9262 with dual 9800m gtx's...im gonna say your wrong. it's not how much ram you have it's how many more high end video cards you have. most games are only using 2 cores..so 6 more isn't gonna help you any. we are waiting for the m980nu which has 2 280m's and a qx9300...but if it has no over clocking..then the w90 will end up being the best thing for the moment...gaming only! the d900f wins hands down as the best workstation laptop computer on the planet.

For a while yes, you should be able to handle most games on high settings for the next 2 years or so, I know that the 280m can handle Warhead at enthuisiast with very good fps and a plethora of other games at full settings... And I wouldn't say anygame think about how crysis (considered the "best graphics") has some notoriously bad programming problems, that cause stuttering and framedrops, Warhead they fixed some of the problems and you saw a huge boost.... The fact is it all depends on the game and how it is produced, think about Call Of Duty 4 which many many systems can handle at full settings above 30fps... The 9280, 9262, W90 or M980NU should handle a game like that full settings above 60fps, and it still has great graphics.

Also remember when looking at high end computers like this dont take 3dMark scores too seriously most of the time it is rediculously overated, most of the time just for bragging rights, gaming benchmarks or real word tests are always better ;)

this is a touchy subject here...
it will not play every game flawlessly at it's native resolution.it will how every play very well at lower resolutions, but then that sort of defeats the whole purpose of getting a 1080p or 1200p system on ultra high/ very high/ maxed out including AA/AF. i know we would all love for that to be the truth, but it's far from it. flawless is 60 fps with vertical sync on and maxed settings with no AA/AF for all current games. ( personal opinion) 20 to 40 fps is not fluent. because if that we're really fluent...then no one would buy dual/tri/quad video card machines. for 1050p and up resolutions. (again, personal opinion)

the m980nu would be more in the w90's class....

It will play any current game but crysis fine @1920x1200. The i7 will come in handy for notorious cpu dependent games like GTA4, even that will run flawlessly. Crysis is playable at 1680 x 1050 high settings, very high is out of the question, and 1920 x 1200 will make matters worse. Future games like Id's Rage will probably give the machine trouble.

If you use your computer only for gaming you should buy a console and be happy :D . Anyone who isn't under 18 will probably do more than just play :p .

And the M980NU crown still pending on GTX280M SLI performance and overclock capabilities :D .

MMMM... I thought it was strange that they couldn't put 2 280's in the D900F... I mean isn't the 280m supposed to be a shrinked DI that was more powerful, or is it simply heat? although the D900F has one the best cooling systems there is.... Frustration and now I'm being tempted by the new Alienwares.....

Because of the i7's sheer size, power requirements, and thermal output, they had to move the memory out of the way (size) as well as remove a GPU (power). So what are you not understanding? There will not be an i7 sli setup until intel shrinks the die.

Yes they could have removed an HDD to make room for the memory, but you still have a power problem. By setting the memory aside in place of the GPU, they did have the side-benefit of room for 3 DIMM slots and thus triple channel support.

sort of like running around here playing spell check king...im sure if enough people write in and let them know...they will eventually get around to fixing it...

    gonna have to agree here!
when i over clock my gpu's running a 130 watt cpu...the watts get up to 300+ and the power adapter is rated at 220 watts...you'll know when you pass your limits when your battery light flicks on for about 5 seconds or so, then cutts back to green or full charge....

me, hell to the no! give me my 2 gpus now! is what i say...but...we will know soon enough. since this is not a fact only what has been passed around....

Lol KY I just saw your profile on a different site... does it switch over? or did you just make another...

"No laptop GPU is ever going to be as strong as its Desktop counterpart. When we tested the W90 with the 4870x2 vs. the GTX280 in the 9280 ...the crisis benchmark had the GTX280 beating the 4870's by almost 10fps.

Even though something is better on paper, which the 4870's are, doesn’t mean that it is the same in the real world. Even though the 4870's might beat a single GTX280 in a benchmark, testing on the actual application (video games) shows the GTX280 coming out ahead.

Nvidia has consistently come out with good software for their graphics cards. Driver 185.81 just came out and on my GTX280 at home it increased my fps by around 10-30% depending on the game. I get to test out every graphics card on the market and I personally choose Nvidia".
