Yup, got a 9900KF "R0" sitting on the desk right now. It's getting delidded and prepped sometime next week. But first, I need to order a bunch of new thermalpads for the VRMs since the height of the non-lapped die is different.

The timings I ran on the 9900K were quite tight, not sure how that affected the IMC in the end. Even if VCCSA/IO were kept stock.

It wont cause the IMC to fail, that is just voltage that can do that.

I think an undervolt might also have been causing some funky stuff when the IMC voltages are kept stock, since uncore shares the same power rail as vcore?

Yeah, a few mV might be alright, but when paired wiht -185mV undervolt stuff might happen.

It's a shame that override voltage doesn't play well with 9th gen chips and our current DTR's.

Or at least better after I changed the AC/DC lines to 160, now running override at 1210mV doesn't trigger any hardshutdown (hw amp limit) or throttling.

I figured I'd throw my 2 cents in here.

I had to return my P750 to Evoc for an RMA because the 2070 RTX card was faulty (with testing, found a 2D shader chip was faulty).

Symptom was in certain 2D shading applications and games, the laptop would just randomly power off. HIDEvolution was fantastic on reproducing the issue and fixing it.

So shout out at @Zoltan@HIDevolution and @Donald@HIDevolution for the smooth repair on this.

The CPU is the 9700K. Runs a bit warm if I'm doing video publishing, but tends to hover between 87-92c which at all cores going 100% isn't bad at all. It spiked at 96c which still isn't bad.

My idle thermals are 30-34c for GPU and 35-38c for CPU.

One thing I did want to mention to you all is if you have NVMe drives that are high density (1TB or higher), please verify your thermals on them, especially the Samsung drives. Their drives run too hot for the chassis to keep up with on consistent writes, so for 1TB or higher you are going to have to get heat sinks for them.

The one I personally use for both my NVMe's is this one:
    https://www.amazon.com/EKWB-EK-M-2-NVMe-Heatsink-Black/dp/B073RHHYCM

There may be better ones out there, but I find that one fits the chassis perfectly and it dropped the thermals on the drive by 20c (yea, 20c).

Without the heatsink I was getting a disgusting amount of thermal throttling on the high density drives.

So far the laptop has been chewing through everything, and the stock setup HIDEvolution did is fine for me. I can likely OC my CPU if I feel up to it, but right now it maxes out at 4.9 without thermal throttling (minus the one core hit at 96c) after running an hour or more, so very happy with the rig.

If anyone wants to know full specs, give me a holler out. I'll post my existing HWINfo as well if there's interest.

A thermalpad between the nvme drive and motherboard can do wonders for temps, but ideally some air circulation would be great. Glad HID sorted you out, great guys.

Sounds like the card had a 2d voltage/frequency combo it did not like as the shaders are used for 2d stuff too but the clocks and voltages are different.

Elevating the back of the chassis can reduce your temps by a fair amount. I have a P775TM1, which is similar to the 750, where I found that the back cover is very restrictive for the air intake.

Same goes for the P870TM1, albeit it has a much better bottom cover, in terms of less air restriction by the honeycomb filter.

A book shoved underneath the back works just fine for the P870, The 775TM1 however, needs more help. I might mod the backcover for it.

I always though the Phase changing PC case was awesome! Check this one out. Only 25KG not to bad. It has a built in phase changer ready to go inside the Full ATX case. You must only prep your motherboard for frost and condensation first and your ready to rock!

I want to say these are around $1,400USD. Which in all honestly is a pretty good deal! The level of CPU cooling is amazing for the money.

They are pretty sweet, but there is a lot of prep work to eliminate copper rot in the socket.

    Socket, nice and lubed.

Phase changing is much cheaper vs LN2 albeit not as extreme. But still extreme enough, and you could actually run some games long term with a setup like this. Maybe not 6Ghz daily. But I can see 5.7-5.8Ghz on a 8086K as a fun daily gaming system. I run 5.4 as it is on air 24/7. It never skips a beat.

Everyone in the house couldn’t stand my P750TM1. Always blasting fans full force. It was obnoxious.

I wish we could get a 2080Ti in a laptop. Even at just 200-250 watts it would simply obliterate games while being manageable.

    Blue = Cool

Then goes through to red as it gets hotter.

Of course that's vent temp rather than anything else.

That's actually pretty neat idea, are the fans hooked up to a controller that regulates speed based on temp?
