The TM board doesn’t need pin modding as it’s already Z370. 9th gen just needs a BIOS update.

Hi bro. Happy Sunday. Probably current limit throttling or power limit throttling, or both. The easiest way to tell is to use ThrottleStop or HWiNFO64 to load the CPU and see what the limit reasons are that are shown. ThrottleStop will also help you fix the problem besides confirming that is what it is.

You are a genius :) I started a throttlestop to check (here it is 1:10AM, I am tired so much) but finally all core went 4,1Ghz with P95. After 2-3 mins the cpu hit 88C, but it has not been delided, so there is hope :)
Ahh, and it ate 125W@4,1Ghz all core...
Where can I find a good TS tutorial? Too complicated for me :)

Awesome. Glad it was so simple. I thought it would be.

Look in the opening post of the ThrottleStop thread. Also look for a file in the downloaded archive.

The UI has changed recently, but the core principles of using it have been consistent for a long time. The "Disable and Lock Turbo Power Limits" is a useful feature to enable.

I haven't done one for a very long time, but you will find several videos on my YouTube channel that show how to use ThrottleStop. https://www.youtube.com/c/MrFoxRox2/videos

You will find newer videos than this on YouTube. Not much point in me making a new video today. I was making them when nobody else was and the need for it no longer exists. I started using ThrottleStop a very long time ago, but lots of people have more recently discovered that owning a laptop without ThrottleStop really sucks.

But, do not use XTU. If you have it installed remove it. It conflicts with ThrottleStop. Ignore that I am doing that in this older video since that was back in the day when using it didn't cause problems.

I brought my TM870 from ebay user. It is an OriginPC laptop. It was a great buy at the time and still is now. I don't game as much but i do use it a lot for various things like video encoding and game streaming. The CPU upgrade is probably the last upgrade i can do to increase the performance. I thought about doing the 2080 gpu upgrade but that requires some extra modding from what i read in the forums. I also thought about doing a nvme raid 0 setup but the performance gains looked minimal in the reviews i saw. Thanks electrosoft & yrekabakery for the super fast response. Hopefully i don't brick my system lol. I'm going to sell the 8700k once i finish the upgrade.

If this is your only system, you could always order a eprom programmer as a safety net and if you do brick it, you can take it apart and manually flash the BIOS chip.

If it is a secondary/non-critical system you can flash first and then order one if things go south.

-ME, but its usually locked to write in the ME region and you need an hardware programmer.

Its posible to run GSync on RTX 2080 on P775DM3G ? On 1080 and 2K LCD G-Sync run. On RTX not.

The system needs to have the GPU/motherboard/Screen combo signed for the drivers to activate internal G-sync.

Yes, but if the 775dm3 before mod had gsync, then
    - with gsync RTX
    - dsanke RTX bios
    - AUO 173HAN03.1 screen eg
I think you will have gsync.

AFAIK the whole combo has to be signed off so unless you have the nvidia signing tool it's not going to work.

BTW, thank you @joluke , i used your dremel cutting method rather than disassembling the laptop to use the spi programmer. it was risky but totally worth it!!!! 20mins two laptops cut carefully. now on installing BIOS at ease. not that i need to do it all the time, but since i screwed up one of the installations(the plug came off the socket), its easier now. Cheer man!!

For 751dm2 it works 100% as I have it.

The 751dm2 used to have - when it was bought:
    - 15,6hz 60hz screen (do not remember the screen type) gsync
    - 1070gtx gsync
    - 6700k

    Now it has:
    - 9900 nonk
    - 2070rtx gsync
    - AUO 7.0 gsync screen

The key I think to have the very same type of parts as the newer TM1 big brother has. As dsanke's mod is a TM1 mod, from gsync point of you will the same TM1 gsync model.

For 775dm3 I did the same for 5 times, although I did not test with RTX, but I think it works with the very same way.

Ah yes, if your new BIOS has a valid combo from the TM that would make sense.

Exactly, I am quite positive if you pay attention to the parts, you will have gsync. E.g. I have tested 3 pieces 17,3 screens for the 775dm3 (AUO 3.1, 4.0, 4.1) after dsanke mod, and I just had gsync with the 3.1. For the 751dm2 I have tested AUO 7.0 and 7.1, and only 7.0 had gsync. So that's the key for the magic.

The only interesting thing what I have figured out:
For the 751dm2 the AUO 5.2 120hz panel has gsync, I guess, because the 751TM1 was launch with 120hz gsync panel, then the 144hz IPS took over its place. So both have gsync if you mod your older 751dm2. I know I tested.

Important! You need to use the TM1 bios mod, not the DM3 microcode injection one!

So the whole magic that you convert your dm2/dm3 to a TM1 model.

    BUT!

For 775TM1 I do not recall that it was launched with ChiMei 120hz, but when I modded my 775dm3, and tested the chimei 120hz gsync came up :) For the record that 120hz gsync TN panel is crazy good for FPS, for my eye it is still the fastest panel for laptops and contrary that it is a TN panel, it has quite OK colors.

" I have a secret trick. Count to four. Inhale. Count to four. Exhale.”

I have sold one of my laptop and accepted a clevo 751dm2 set off in the price. The only reason why I did it to test a full upgrade mod on it, and check how it goes. Please find a brief sum up. All the hard work was supported my engineer friend, I was bringing the ideas bios, vbios etc, he was putting his very skilled engineering knowledge into the project, as usuall.

The 751dm2 was originally assembled with 1070gtx, 60hz gsync IPS screen, some 6700k or 7700k the other parts are irrelevant. When I bought it, it had 1080gtx, an Igzo 4k screen (no gsync) and a 7700k.

My aim was to upgrade to a TM1 with RTX card and some 6 or 8 core cpu. I have used first a dsanke DM version bios with 8/9 gen intel microcode with it. I had some hard time to make it work, as I have received black screen. After the bios debugger we managed to boot it right, so it was upgraded to the new gen cpus. I have put a 8600k into as a start. After that many sucking our came, as I had tons of bad parts, which made the story compliacted. To be honest I have learnt a very important lesson, do NOT change many parts in one sitting. Eventhouh all are OK, you never know in project like this, what makes the issues. First I bought a bad 9700, then a bought a bad 40 pin cable, then the AUO 7.0 was bad Of course all turned out later, when I tested one by one.

After the cpu mod was successful I collected all necessary parts to do the mod. I have bought majority of the parts from clevo-computer, but their communication ws crazy... I am still struggling with them. They sent me 2 topcases, but for the second time I ordered a lid+bazel (just to have brand new), and they send another topcase. When I wrote to them, I have ordered 2 parts (lid + bazel), their reply was: "What do I mean under lid + bazel". Supercrazy....
    • I9 9900ES (4,2-4,4Ghz) – professional delid
    • Nvidia 2070RTX
    • AUO 156HAN0.7
    • 40 pin cable for 15,6 laptop (I had only for 17,3)
    • RTX heatsink
    • New topcase (the old has shinny trackpad)
    • Dsanke 1.07.24 RTX version bios
Long story short, after using the upper parts, I ended up having a „TM1” machine. Gsync came back immediately, with RTX version bios nvida driver installed flawlessly, AUO 7.0 panel gsync worked like a charm (I have received first from a stupid seller a 7.1 version, gsync did not work...), and of course i9 9900 worked well.

(I really do not want to go into the details, but I have never had so many problems buying parts like this time:
    1. bad cpu (9700)
    2. bad screen (first bad 7.0, then I received 7.1)
    3. topcase instead of lid+bazel
    4. bad 40 pin cable
    5. and some software stuff with the bios

After some testing with AIDA (and help of Mr Fox – appreciated) with TS the cpu reaches max 82-83 degree and eats 93-95W, sometimes even 98W. Under gaming all cores sit around 70. The RTX on stock voltage (1,063V) is about low 60 degree.

After this small experiment if you collect the necessary parts and bios/vbios you can easily upgrade your machine to the current types (dm2/dm3), and even with some trade-off, you can have 8C/16T cpu in your clevo. Not to forger this machine was launch in 2016 (if I am not mistaken).

anyone know where i'm able to buy an RTX 2060 or RTX 2070 MXM card for relatively cheap if not can someone tell me if this method will work for upgrading the graphics card (PCEI to MXM Adaptor) please let me know as this just seems easier and cheaper in the long run even if i have to buy a new screen, because the only upgrade kit i have found is from EUROCOM and costs around £560 ish for a RTX 2060 when you can buy a regular card for £200 - £300 so this makes alot of sense

Just worked on my Terrans Force X711:

Secondhard Nvidia 1080 already had UEFI v 0x300006.

Backed up my UEFI, flashed to the P775DM2 UEFI, isolated my 2 pins, and successfully upgraded a 7700K to a 8700 (non-K, non-T).

    Thanks, @DaMafiaGamer!

Ok guys I want to upgrade from the 8700K to a 9900K. I did read I think every single post related to my system, the FAQ, the excel file, but still have some questions:

    • what SPI flasher with BIOS 8 pin clip should I buy? can anyone recommend me one to buy? I see several SkyPro on eBay
    • My laptop says on the back that the model is a P870TM-S and in dxdiag it says the model is a P870TMx-(G). Whis BIOS should I use? I don't need support for 6th/7th CPUs, should I use P870TM_B0511.rom or P870TM_B0715.rom? The only difference I see is realtek UAD. What is that? Do I need it?
    • How do I prevent to update Intel management engine firmware? is that automatic? I need to uninstall something?
    • When launching the check GOP_version part all I see is this. Am I missing something?:

    • Does anyone has a picture of the BIOS chip to flash on my machine (in case I need to flash it)????
    • To flash my vBIOS I need to take the MXM card out of the laptop right? and use the programmer? Do I need to buy an extra tool for this?
    • I have a fully working G-Sync system. Is G-Sync going to stop working after the BIOS flash? My panel is the AUO B173HAN03
    • What functions of PremaMod BIOS am I going to lose?

You have a Evoc TM with @Prema firmware. Why not call HID support to get help with updated firmware?

Sadly I'm out of warranty. Though when I bought the laptop it said: "LIFETIME HIDevolution Technical Support"

Still worth a call if you haven't already done it.

Well opened a ticket on HID customer support center, let's see how it goes. What's the best case scenario, HID remote flash the BIOS and vBIOS?

I wonder how they remotely flash the video card. I thought the only way to do that was with the programmer

An unmodified vBIOS will flash using software.

It’s a straight forward team viewer session.

I had mine updated last December both bios and 1080 vbios for full 9900 support. I’m running a 9900ks in there now.

Did you lost G-Sync or any undesired secondary effect?

Nope, everything worked as before. It took about 10-20 minutes tops. They stay on the phone with you while going through the process.
