Cheapest is what i meant :p, but ya they aren't cheap. I know the bios mod here works with 8700k with rtx 2080, i wanted a bios mod for 7700k to work with 2080. Since within the excel sheet the bios for rtx-p775dm3 does not support the 7th gen CPU. Also i found genuine sellers on taobao, that sell rtx 2080 mxm cards for a cheaper price.

There were many links range from 1000 USD to 1200 USD, rtx 2080. Check the description for the prices.

This was a good cooler/heatsink which also has a water cooling option for the p775dm3 tm etc etc.
It increases the normal air-cooling temps as well.

So does someone have the p775dm3 7700k modded bios to work with the rtx 2080?

You have the one in OP. Why wouldn't that not work? It's proven to work flawlessly... Use it

Check the one highlighted. For the RTX modded bios file, it does not work/support with the 6th gen or 7th gen.

Thank you so much!! I hope the bios isn't in chinese though. Hopefully this works with the rtx 2080. Since for me the GPU upgrade is more important for now.

Yes. Don't mess with the EC. Make sure you have the latest for P775DM3-G (the EC) and only flash the BIOS and that's it. The BIOS comes in English so don't worry about that either. Just enjoy it. Been running mine for 3 months more or less and love it (don't have a 2080 since I'm waiting for Ampere from Nvidia but got a 8700k)

8700k might be my choice eventually. Also just for a future reference the 9900KF or the 9700KF (KF Series) should all work right with the other bios included. And also they will have the same shielding right?

    Yeah basically :).

If you get the 8700k make sure you buy kapton tape to isolate the two pins of the cpu (which is a pain in the ass to do) and use the 1.07.26 modded BIOS on your laptop. The BIOS chip is directly under the keyboard but you need to disassemble the whole machine to access it (which is a pain in the ass to do as well). Tomorrow I'll drop some photos of the cut @John@OBSIDIAN-PC did to the metal under the keyboard for easy access to the BIOS chip on my P775DM3-G

Dayum!!!!, i'll wait for the pictures. Coz the 8700k is perfect both price and performance. I might just go for the 9th gen now if metal cut is irritating or required for 8700k only...i hope the risk is for both :p . And what is the latest version of EC required for the 7700k or 8700k or 9th gen.

The latest for P775DM3-G works. Make sure you don't flash the EC from another model to your P775DM3-G else you will end up hard bricking the machine and might need to buy a motherboard for it because of it. Don't mess with the EC, just the BIOS and that's it

Here are the photos of the cut with a dremel we did for easy access to reflash the BIOS if needed: http://imgur.com/a/L30YyaJ

As you can see it's under the metal directly under the keyboard. A full disassemble is needed every time you wanna access it. So to make my life way easier we did cut the metal since the warranty of the laptop is gone as soon as I flashed the custom BIOS

Already ordered for the modified air/water heatsink from Taobao. Hopefully i find a genuine seller with a good deal on the RTX 2080.

The one I posted from Eurocom apparently comes with half a year of warranty from them if I'm not mistaken. I believe it is worth it

    Hey all,

No luck with the p750dm modded bios, with the bios I only get a black screen with green power light, I have i5 6500 and the 4k lg screen.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be happy to test, thank you

    hey Joluke,

thanks for a quick reply, thats correct i have a 1060 from ebay which i updated to the correct vbios, i have tested both 8th gen and 9th gen bios's, the bios flashes and reports successful at the end but upon restarting i get a black screen and green power light, the keyboard lights up blue and i can still use the fn and 1 button to change fan speed but nothing else will happen, no output to external display either. i have tested with different memory just to make sure it wasn't a compatibility issue. i have read through the forum and some have suggested that i should leave it for a few minutes but this has not worked either, so strange :(

sorry i should of said i removed the battery and waited 1 min then inserted it back in, this resulted in same blank screen. I then attempted the FN+D which didn't have any effect :(

Do you think it could be an incompatibility with the i5-6500 although the exel document states that it does support 6th gen?
