And i don't know if i have to download one of these, or all three

And another question. As i say in top of the thread i have a radeon 8970m. Will be inside the laptop also the nvidia optimus vga?

Hello guys, just an info on the XMG C703, can i get the drivers for C703 from the MSI GS70 Stealth driver's page? Are they the same?

Technically you can use the GS70 drivers, no problem. We wouldn't recommend using the EC/BIOS though - just for safety.

 

In particular my question is reffering to the Sound Blaster, Super Charger and Keyboard led manager drivers

 

How long in total did it take for it to get to you??

From the time you ordered to the time you received it?

 

Lol, why do you think AMD and Nvidia are combined???

They are totally different companies, one has nothing to do with the other. So no drivers, no functions or features are going to be the same!!

There is no Optimus with Radeon cards, they have their own switching system called Enduro. Also for Radeon cards you need AMD Catalyst drivers.

 

think it was 10 working days from start to finish and it came from Germany.
can totally vary though depending on how many orders before you and stock availability.

I've also asked the guys at mySN and they say if I order on Monday the 25th and the funds clear then its possible I could already have my new shiny P723 on the 29th which is a Friday. Sound a bit optimistic to me but if they manage to pull that off I will be truly amazed, because I will be able to spend the weekend playing Metro 2033 on my new XMG. xD

Now I wanted to ask if any of you skilled guys here have invented a time machine and can fast forward me until Sunday the 24th?? Pretty please!

Also, I wonder why they don't do the P375SM barebones as well? Its the "bling" version of the XMG P723 (P370SM).

 

The drivers for C703 on mysn website are good also for 8.1?

We are recommending to stick to Windows 8 on the C703 for now, once the drivers for 8.1 are available on the driver download page we will also be offering 8.1 as an option on the configuration pages. It shouldn't be too far away!

 

It's possible yes, production has been working overtime recently! But we couldn't guarantee this delivery schedule, only estimate based on last weeks shipping times.

i have no idea what the 120hz screen is like as i got the standard matte and i can honestly say it blew me away. its the best screen i ever owned. slight difference is its the 15"
im blind in one eye and was worried a bit compared to my previous clevo gloss screen but i will never go back again. no eye strain so far and had it over a year.

also as mentioned in the other thread, if it was me i would also drop down cpu and get bigger ssd. im guessing you have a normal spindle drive to put in there as well. adding a couple of games on the ssd like B4 and ghosts will take up about 30gb and the space will soon get used up.

I know mate, almost everyone is telling me to reduce the CPU to 4700MQ but I'm already set on it. Especially considering I will be upgrading to a bigger SSD/mSATA around Xmas. Oh and yes I do have a 500GB HDD thats gonna go into slot 2, which I will run my games off. The 120GB SSD will just be for Windows 8 Extreme Edition RC2 64bit and programs, don't think I'll be installing any games on it. Maybe only Steam and Origin stuff.

Thanks for the welcome mate, I so cannot wait till next weekend when I get to take it for a spin. I should get it by Thursday/Friday since I'll be paying for the quick build to make sure I get it next week, its £45 but totally worth it. xD

Interested in buying an XMG P303 system, is it possible to buy one without any branding (i.e. without the XMG green logo on the front bezel)?

as far as i know you can ask for non branding.
when i got mine last year i was expecting the big XMG on the lid but didnt get it. but now im glad as it looks more professional without the logo.
which country are you from? the UK site has a live chat that you can ask the guys at mysn all your requirements.

 

I think that's the barebone model. I got mine the same way. No branding whatsoever. Looks stunning all matte black. The only XMG I get when bootting as I updated with the latest bios/ec available.

 

Pretty sure it is, even thought the option isn't listen on the P303 config page.

I had to do the same for my P723 because I though I couldn't have it with the XMG logo but they replied quickly and said they can do both, and what do you know the next day the option was added to the config chooser. The guys at MYsn are extremely effecient!

Like the look of mysn.co.uk, just trying to decide if it's worth getting with i7-4702MQ instead of basic i5-4200M, as they're the only UK reseller that seems to supply with i7-4702MQ at the moment.

Otherwise probably go with overclockers.co.uk since have been buying from them for like 10+ years...

If you're getting a smaller system like the P303 the better idea is probably to go for the 4702MQ, firstly because its a Quad-Core chip and not Dual-Core like the i5-4200M. Secondly it still has the same low TDP of 37W. Also, remember that the XMG logo can appear on top of the lid as well as the bottom of the display frame on the front. So it all depends on what look you want. MYsn are really good at giving you all the customization options possible.

Overclockers is good, I looked at their systems as well but remember... as a general rule go for the best config you can get for your money but also pay attention to the warranty that you can get for your system. MYsn pride themselves in their warranty and aftersales service, and they have an RMA and support centre based in London.

 

I was about to order my system last night, however after sitting down with my partner and doing our own calculations against the price at the checkout I found that there seems to be a discrepancy of £57 with regards to the TOTAL cost inc Tax.

This is the total that is displayed at the checkout = £1,448.56, but by my calculations it should come to = £1390.56.

What I did was take the base price of the P723 and add the prices of the chosen components onto it. I'm really eager to put my order in, but this difference has raised some questions for me as its a fairly big difference.

I've emailed that to the guys at MYsn sales support this morning, but no reply yet. I really hope that isn't some indended hidden charge they tend not to show to unaware buyers.

For now my order is on hold, at least until I can get an answer for that discrepancy.

Hi mate, yeah its ok. I'm thinking of just putting the order through anyways, really dont wanna miss out on getting it this week. The guys havent replied yet, and their live chat is offline.

I took everything into the account both times (excluding delivery charge) and just for the life of me cannot figure out the discrepancy in the total. :/

 

just thought, is it google pay still used. i think i had to pay an extra £47 at the time which i also enquired about.
it turned out as far as i can remember it was a charge by google for using their services with a debit card and not a charge by mysn.

I think thats where I went wrong, even so.. that would mean that Express Build or Delivery charge isnt added until the Grand Total. :/

Anyways, I've just gone and put my order in so now its "Processing".

Yeah still amazing at the amazing service these guys have provided. Also, my order status has now been updated to "Accepted by Production"

On another note, just got another email from Andrew asking if I could buy the Express Build (£45) again on its own because apparently it didin't get charged. This sounds a bit fishy to me to be quite honest.

I don't have £45 I could just throw in the wind.

The £45 discount was agreed, but the website took £45 off both the individual products (laptop product and the separate Express Build product). Of course, it should only have taken a single £45 off the total shipping cart value rather than 2x £45 - we have corrected this now and apologise for the confusion.

Just downgraded to the DVD-RW option from Blu-Ray to keep the Express Build.

I'm interested in ordering a xmg p303 to replace my old acer 3820tg. Currently i have only one problem, i read somewhere that it isn't allowed to install premas bios mod or other bios mods, but this would be a requirement for me as this machine will run nearly 24/7 and i cant stand random fan bursts. Is this true or do i need to wait for an fully silent mysn bios? I wouldn't mind if they install this bios from prema for me.

It's correct that we don't support BIOS modifications, but this isn't necessary to keep the XMG P303 quiet! The EC fan control that we are currently shipping with avoids any fan ramping that was seen with some of the older versions

Just thought I'd add a line. A couple days ago I ordered my C703 with 240GB SSD, the 1TB SSHD and Killer wireless.

Had some really great customer service, both when deciding on the HDD/SSD set up, when I had difficulties with the finance company and in helping me with my delivery and build time queries.

All round great service and if the laptop is half as good as that, I will be a very regular MySN customer!

Btw I got 2 driver disks with it, one named drivers and utilities and the other is xmg drivers which seems newer so I'm going through the install procedure now.

I received a notification that my parcel has left the place of origin. Should have it by monday. Wanna know what I need to do before I can jump into taking this laptop through its paces...

i only got the 1 disc with drivers so im not sure.
did you also get the operating system disc as that could be one of them.

it should be ready to go out of the box and the disc/s are only for backup when needed later down the road.
the only time they arent loaded is of course when you ask for no operating system.

i know what most people are like on here but i would recommend not touching or updating the gpu drivers as the OEM driver loaded would have been fully tested through the burn in and is the most stable for you lappy at present.

i lasted about 5 months before i updated to a new gpu driver and the new whql wasnt as stable but then i had problems finding the oem driver again as they arent normally available to the public and only on new machines.
in the end i had to do a system restore to get the original drivers back.

now pull ya finger out and get some pictures up

also i hope youve apologized to your girlfriend as she wont be seeing much of you this weekend
