im not sure about the button as ive not seen your model before but im guessing its auto switching so really you dont have to touch the button.
when you go into game does your 660m kick in. if it does does the button light change from orange to green or stay yellow.

it's alway orange, it never changes.
Tried to check on the manual, they are telling that the color should change.
(my nvidia gpu kicks in when i'm ingame, i can see it because there is a different led above the keyboard at the center)
the vga button would allow me, if i want to, to stay on hd 4000 no matter what.
Not a big deal, I'd like to know why I can't make it work, that's all ^^ -
Oh and i just noticed that I can't manage to have bluetooth working.
THe led is green, but when I go in windows 8 setting, I can't turn it on, "activation impossible"
when, with fn + F12 I turn it "off", in windows 8 setting, I can now turn it on, but still not working ...
I've downloaded drivers on clevo website, any ideas ?

can you see the bluetooth icon in your taskbar (if windows 8 has one) if it has right click on it and it should show up send file or receive file. thats the only way i use mine.

oh yeah it worked, windows download bluetooth adapter something like that, then i have the bt icon in the taskbar and it worked with my cellphone.
weird thing though is that I have to "disable" BT with fn + F12 to actually have the BT working T.T (else windows 8 wont get the bluetooth adapter thing)

About the Win8 + Bluetooth issue: well, that's UEFI and Windows 8 for you. You might try to reset your BIOS settings and/or to reinstall your Hotkey driver. Even a BIOS/UEFI update might help. We have not yet come accross about the issue you've described. -
Is mySN still operating in the uk?
The phone number on their website does not exist when called. It cannot be a typo as it is the same number for all the contact nos on the contact page and also made as a graphic on the home page are the same. Also the same phone number is on the automated reply I got when I emailed them.
The Live Help on their website never seems to be online either.
Are the company still in trading?

Well, after installing yesterday night Win 8 (and then stopping 'cause my gf couldn't stand it anymore) This morning I installed all the drivers, and for now everything seems to be working perfect. No problems for now with installing the latest 7970 drivers, or problems with the killer 1103 (at the beggining I had a few connection drops, but after updating Win8 and rebooting, not again
)
Only problem so far, I dunno which bluray software to use to play bluray movies (any suggestion?) and after installing Bioshock Infinite, the menu works, but no sound or music, and then when I start the game, everything is black besides the text at the bottom saying thins like "you got the whatever pistol" or smth like that. Amy ideas?

were the drivers you loaded the ones on the disc or from online. the black screen could be a driver problem but i have no idea how windows 8 and ati drivers work. it could be that its trying to use the HD4000 instead of the 7970. check the setting in the ati control panel that its using dedicated graphics.
mysn have the option on their config page for the Cyberlink Media Suite v10 Ultra BluRay Player and Burning Software but im sure ive read a few posts that there are some free software out there. try a google search. -

Well, I first installed the drivers that came with the laptop, then checked device manaegr and saw the exclamation mark next to the amd 7970m, so I downloaded the ati hardware utility check, so it downloaded again everything and updated the drivers (they were far too old, at least as the amd install said) I rebooted and then fine.
Mmmm... didn't check the switchable settings for bioshock, I'll have a look... even tho the main menu is already with good graphics and so, so I doubt is the Intel HD? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I downloaded and installed PowerDVD as for some reason I get an error with some codec/filter in MPC.

i done exactly the same thing when i got mine. the driver on the disc would have been a oem driver tested specifically for the laptop.
i updated to the latest whql and had quite a few problems. i tried reloading the original from the disc again and it kept failing to load. only way i got out of this was to do a system restore back to day 1 and it worked again.
ive just updated to the latest whql and all my futuremark benchmarks failed to run. reverting back worked this time and all benchmarks are working again.
computers can be strange things at time and no two people will have the same issues.
hope you get it sorted so you can enjoy your new toy. maybe try another game to see if that black screens.

Finally I managed to fix the problem with the black screen in Bioshock Infinite, and it was due to outdated DirectX drivers. As soon as I updated them, it was working flawlessly.
Another question, GPU-Z doesn't want to work, tried to download it from several different places and different versions, but it always get stuck at the splash screen, and then I get a "this program can't continue" and force closes giving me an error :S

it could be an error reading the ati driver so wont let it load.
best thing is to chat with the uk support tomorrow as they have live support on their website which the german site doesnt.

Well, based on on the positive feedback here I gave an enthusiastic recommendation for mySN to a friend of mine over in Germany and she contacted them with a question via email over a week ago about a potential laptop build. They guarantee an answer within 48 hours and she has not received any communication from them in over a week. Now I feel like I have a bit of egg on my face and she wonders what other promises they hold out but don't deliver. Wie schade ...

if within 48 hours your friend has not had a reply then it would of been worth forwading it to them again with the original sent date as sadly sometimes emails do go missing.

I'm the friend JasonNH mentioned, so I figured I'd jump in and answer the question myself. I sent the email to [email protected] since it was the only one I could find on their "Service" page. The address is working at least as I received an automatic reply (with the aforementioned promise of an answer within 48 hours).
I wrote them again this morning, we'll see whether anything comes from that. In any case I'd appreciate alternative recommendations since the first impression mySN gave me wasn't exactly stellar. -

Thanks for the welcome, and for the confirmation that I got the right address. I'll wait another couple of days to see if anything happens, and keep looking around for alternatives in the meantime.
Edit: I just received an e-mail apologising for the lack of a reply. Looks like a glitch in the system marked my initial message as "answered" even though it hadn't been. Of course mistakes can happen, and since they seem to have a good reputation otherwise and can build exactly the system I want, I'm willing to give them a try and place an order. -
And the saga continues...
So I did place an order with them, and unfortunately I have cause to regret my decision. I placed the order on Friday, Aug 23rd, and paid in advance on the same day. The payment was duly registered in their system on Aug 27th. According to their web site, at the time of my order all components were in stock and assembly should have taken 3-5 days.
A week later, no progress was to be seen in the processing of my order.
15 minutes ago, I received an e-mail from their customer service, apologising that the model I had ordered was no longer available, and offering me "an upgrade at a 10% discount". The configuration they suggest is exactly the same as the one I selected, only with an upgraded graphics card, and even with the discount it's still over 200 more than the one I had ordered, and quite outside my budget.
Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed - first their delay in replying to my question, and now it looks like this delay is responsible for the model being out of stock for good. Which, by the way, makes me wonder why I was still able to order it.
I just wrote back to them telling them that unless they can make me a better offer I want my money back asap, but judging from my experience so far I don't expect an answer in less than a week.
So, in short, if you're thinking about getting a mySN laptop, think twice. Neither their communication nor their reliability really impressed me, so now I'll have to start looking around all over again - back to square one. -
Who would have thought there might be a happy ending to this drama.
After venting my frustration on a German forum as well, I was contacted by mySN support and we quickly reached a solution which was satisfactory for everyone involved. After that, they really did a good job processing my order quickly - assembly started on Monday, and today (Friday) I received a parcel with my shiny new XMG A523. So it seems the hassle was indeed just a glitch, although a rather annoying one since it happened at first contact. But all is well that ends well -

Is the warranty on these XMG's international? (purchased a P503 model from mysn.de) Gonna use the laptop in Romania and am wondering how I can use the warranty if the case will be.

looking at the german warranty using google translate below:
the warranty is fully covered but if a rma is needed back to germany for repair you will have to pay the courier charge. this is the same for many companys when you are returning an item to another country.

Drivers and whatnot, bios upgrades, etc, where do I get those? Clevo site? Does mysn provide them? Afaik there was no driver cd included in my package.

thats strange. if you ordered with a operating system then there should have been a operating system disc and a driver disc. the driver disc has a program on it with the drivers in order of loading as theres been problems for owners in the past of loading drivers out of order.
drivers can be found on their site > mySN.de | SCHENKER XMG | Schenker Technologies
click on the + XMG and 503 has bios/windows 7/windows 8 drivers.
you could always contact their support on monday and ask them to send you another driver disc. -
It's been ordered without an OS as I already own several copies of win7/8 that I can use.

if it was the uk they have a dedicated forum.
