According to my order status on their website, my order is "in process." I called Razer on Thursday and was informed that they did infact receive my order. The lady also said that it wouldn't ship till tuesday bc they just received the units on Wednesday and that each laptop needs to be physically inspected by razer and then put into the special razer packaging.

I don't know if that is true or not, but there was no hesitation in her voice and it does make some sense. I agree with all of you that they shouldn't break policy of same day shipping...but that wouldn't have made a difference as to when we receive our laptops.

The first wave of units were infact received by their respected owners...we can only expect the same.

lol.... I woke up to an email from Razer saying they shipped my order...while I thought it was the t-shirt and stuff that they said they would send out for my troubles, after careful review I see it says Razer notebook... I click on the tracking info and get all excited til I see the weight of the package and it says 1.8lbs so I can assume its the mouse...oh well one piece of the order will be here

Yea ive got mine right now :) the only problem is that the graphics switching is pretty crappy. I think that's an overall problem with optimus though.

I'm anxious to hear more impressions as well, according to Razer support, my order didn't go through, so now I'm debating whether to try and buy it again on the 29th or if the excitement has worn off.

why doesn't Razer just mass produce them and use better distribution channels such as retail chains. Then the mass market can all buy it.

Why are they saying your order did not go thru... Are they saying that even after you have a order confirmation??? If so what is their excuse?

Basically I keep getting "canned" email responses saying the product is backordered and at I can try and order again on the 29th. My email response back to them saying " well then why do I have an order number" doesn't get a response other then the product is on back order. I spoke to a tech support rep on Saturday who wasn't any help but he said someone will follow up via email this week. I politely asked to not have email communication and for a supervisor to call me directly. He said he would put it in the notes ...I will let you know if I get a call this week. I'm really frustrated by this experience as I was hoping to have my Blade by this weekend

I would not worry about it I received the same emails as probably everyone did... What does your order status say...plus you received a confirmation email that says they received your order so no need to worry you will be just fine... Unless they tell you they do not have anything in the system for you I would not fret.

I called the Razer support hotline (888.697.2037) this morning and was told that my order is on back order and will not receive it till the next batch of Blades...CRAP! I then called the Razer BLADE Support hotline (855.872.5233) and was told a much more comforting update. I got verbal confirmation that my order will be shipped out today along with the Orochi. Also, during the call I could over hear different rep telling another customer the same story. So, I can only hope that the information that the rep gave me is in-fact true.

One thing is, they haven't changed their story. I called them on Thursday of last week and they said it would ship on Tuesday...hope that's a good sign.

    Anyone else hear anything different?

Engadget review is up. They blew it on the Skyrim testing. Don't the reviewers know how to use and configure Nvidia Optimus profiles? Also think they missed the mark on the trackpad, with the screen protectors on, trackpad runs much smoother imho.

I'm not too tech savvy so was wondering if anyone here could help me out.

If I were able to get my hands on a razer blade (big if), it would have US chargers etc, and I'm in Australia. would i be able to simply get an adaptor or is there a bigger issue with the charger and battery (something about 120V vs 240V in Aus and the US).

I am very much on the fence about buying a Blade. I don't mind spending $3k on one, but i don't want to buy something that is either under-powered or soon-to-be updated. (Not saying the Blade is either).

The Blade has two key features that i really want; the thin/light profile and the Switchblade Track-pad. I would love to have that just to not have to mouse when i play FPS games (Left hand WASD, Right Tracking).

I would order one as soon as they are available.. However, two things are a bit of a hold-back for me; the 555M and Ivy Bridge on the corner.

I have pretty much accepted that I won't get a 580M/6990M performance in a .88" thick machine anywhere else. So i can take a small hit there on performance. But the fact that Ivy-Bridge and the .28nm GPUs are just around the corner leaves me a little bit hesitant.

I'm sure Razer wouldn't torpedo sales by talking about a spec-bump to Ivy Bridge.. but it makes me wonder if i should just hang back and wait. There has been a lot of Talk of a Bumped up MBP around the corner too, that might steal some of the Blade's thunder, albeit without the Switchblade..

It's all just a little much to consider.. What do y'all think?

Ivy bridge is a very marginal incremental upgrade at best. We are talking maybe 5-10% faster max, most of the focus is on power improvements, but for whatever reason the Blade really doesn't have a big battery, so even with power enhancements it won't be getting great battery life.

I also would not expect Razer to even think about a new Blade model for a good 6+ months. It will be at least that long before all the parts for an upgraded model are available, and since Razer isn't a big manufacturer they will have to wait for prices to drop a bit. Even after Dell or Apple start using new parts I would expect Razer to wait a few more months at least.

Not to crap on the 555m, it is a nice mobile card, but it isn't a small hit from a 580m, it is less than half as fast. The 555m is around 1500 graphics score on 3DMark 11, the 580m is around 3800 graphics score, that will translate to more than double the performance. No thin laptops are going to have 580m esque performance, but if what you really want is top-end gaming performance you might want to consider sacrificing some weight and thickness to get something like an Alienware M17x, it is thicker, heavier, but twice as fast and actually gets 5+ hours of battery versus the Blades 2-3.

You do have a lot to consider, the Blade is an awesome laptop, but it isn't for everyone, you will just have to decide what is important for YOU.

They didn't blow it on the Skyrim test...They ran it at native 1920 x1080. I found that review to be extremely objective and good IMO.

That doesn't matter anymore with the batteries made in this day and age, but if you feel like you want to charge it anyway go ahead. You can still use it while it is charging, there should be enough power supplied by the Brick to charge the battery and use the laptop. If the battery is not charging or you find that it is using your battery while plugged in then the Brick is not supplying enough power.

Not sure I agree, but it is a personal decision. The new GPUs are not looking that impressive and are still a long ways off (in technology terms anyway, 4-6 months minimum, and probably end of the year before something like the Blade gets them). If your not careful you will continue waiting forever, all for the tiny boost of the next generation (or the generation after, which will be MUCH more impressive than this coming refresh). To make it worse the boost is pretty meaningless, since there aren't any games I can think of that an extra 3-9 FPS will take from unplayable to awesome anyway.
