Sniper Ghost Warrior 2 will support Stereo 3D soon, but at this time it's still unfinished and the stereo 3D option is there but grayed out.

CryEngine 3 is using 2D + depth method so may not look as good as nVidia 3D Vision, but still looking pretty good, I preferred FPS than 50% FPS drop. :)

Thinking to buy one these laptops, and I'm wondering build quality of those 2. I'm leaning more forward to Msi cause of its gpu. Msi has gtx 680m and Samsung has gtx 675m. And Msi price $600 more. Do u think it's worth paying $600 more because of 680? And I think Msi has better build, better keyboard( steelseries ), better sound( dynaudio ), better screen( matte vs glossy) and better cooling. Is that really so? Or Samsung and Msi equal about these areas, it's not worth $600 for 680m over 675m? Please help guys, I'm stuck now, please help me, thank you.

Hi there, very new to this thread. I just finished ordering a 446-US from Newegg after my Asus ROG G75 started doing non stop display driver resets. I reinstalled, tried older drivers, etc. It just won't stop. It's not over heating or anything, it's just that the 460m must be kapoot.

Oh well, was upgrade time anyway. My question is around RAID. The model I ordered has 2 x 128GB SSD and a mechanical drive. I already have an SSD in my Asus and a one mechanical drive. Does anyone know if I can do a 3 drive RAID 0 with one of the drives not being the same? It's the same size, but not identical to the drives that come with the one one I ordered.

    H jaws5858,

The price you are quoting for the GT70 0NE, is in the middle of two of the current models. Are you looking at one of the older SKU's? For clarification, and a better apples and apples comparison, specifically which GT70 0NE model are you looking at?

    :)

Model that im looking for is MSI GT70 0NE-836TR, in Turkey. My real concern is quality issues. I dont know much about MSI's. Samsung's brand name is giving me more confidence. I dont want to struggle with technical issues, and continous problems. I just want a real quality product for that price. I read much about MSI GE 60&70 topics, and its quality is something like bottom of the barrel. Is GT series has necessary quality, for using about 4 years?

If I were u, I will wait till the updates. As I know, gt70 is almost a year old.
I believe msi will update their product lines pretty soon.
    Good luck!

Lol I once waited "for the next thing" on my laptop...what started out as 3 months turned into a year!

Luckily gaming laptops are a little more niche...but still - shortly after I got my gt70 they released the Dragon.

Haven't heard much disappointment with any of these revisions tho -you can't go wrong.

Ahhhhh, now that I know you are in Turkey, this changes things a bit. To better understand the price differences, I would also need to know the full SKU# of the Samsung model..... but I can give some opinion, based on the specs you've presented.

What I can readily see is some of the cost difference is in the system ram, the primary storage of 128GB SSD vs. a 750gb HDD, and the GPU's. Is the GT70 0NE worth the $600 difference? I think this will require a more accurate assessment of the specs..... item by item, feature by feature, but also consider warranty, service, and upgradability. In this day and age, 4 years is a long time considering the pace of technology advancements. Ultimately your choice will boil down to your wants, needs, and budget. Both manufacturers are competitive, have solid reputations, good build quality, and offer outstanding 'bang-for-the-buck'.

Are you a gamer, and what are your needs in a notebook? If a gamer and it's within budget, I'd go for the GT70 0NE, hands-down. You will appreciate what the GTX-680M has to offer, and the increased speed of boot/load times of the primary mSATA SSD. Overall, the GT70 0NE will feel snappier and more responsive. As to upgradability and customization, MSI has listened to customer and gamer needs, offering considerable options to DIY builders and those desiring custom notebooks. Keep in mind, with the GT70 you are not limited solely to SKU's offered by your local retailer. Most of our forum friendly resellers here offer a full list of customizable options, and most do a considerable business globally. Info on this and other GT70 0NE interest can be found HERE.

As to the comments of atjandra888 and gonzorito, both have merit, and I have been on both sides of this fence. I will add however, and soon in the months ahead, good things are on the horizon as MSI will be unveiling a new breed, equipped the latest next-gen from Intel and NVidia. It's gonna be good, and I really do not believe Samsung will best them. ;) CAN'T WAIT! :D

Anyhow, I have personally owned 4 of the MSI GT series notebooks (still have 3), and I not had any major issues or complaints regarding performance, build quality, or service.

I hope this helps. Good luck in your decision, and perhaps we can soon welcome you (as a fellow owner) in our midst.

    :)

Thanks for long reply :). MSI has these advantages also i didn't say before over Samsung's model; quality backpack( samsung has none ), $90 worth Steelseries Gaming Headset, gaming mouse and mouse pad, bluray writer( samsung has just bluray reader, but this isn't important to me ). And other ram, ssd, gpu things. It's more sensible buying MSI, but like i said my concern was, i couldn't sure MSI's build quality. I don't asking if i can play games still ultra 3 years later, just i am asking is MSI's physical durability. If i wouldn't have typical problems, and you said quality is good, then i will go and buy a MSI GT70 :).

It's durable enough..... however, I would not recommend throwing it (or any notebook) around, or beating your neighbor with it. ;)

I am sure you will enjoy it, as I have. Let us know when you are an owner, and I'll personally welcome you to the thread.

    Enjoy!

Hi all, I've just ordered my GT70-446us from Best Buy. I couldn't pass up the 18 month interest free financing. It should be delivered to me sometime next week. I have a couple of questions:
    1. Does anyone use MSI's "Live Update 5" to keep drivers/firmware updated?
    2. How prompt is MSI's rebate program? I noticed that they have a $100 rebate going on this month for the model I bought. Is their rebate program for real or do I "kiss" that $100 good bye. I only ask because when I googled it, most of the search results had "MSI rebate" and "scam" hand in hand. In all fairness though, these were very old posts that came up in the search.

So my GT70 arrived from Newegg this morning. This is going to be longest work day in history. Can't wait to get home and load Skyrim on this puppy!

I have one question, though. How well is heat handled on MSI laptops? Previous to this I used Asus ROG laptops and they deal with heat extremely well. Even after long gaming sessions. I always use a flat surface, but I'm hoping I don't need to get a cooling pad as well.

I heard the keyboard on the GT70 suffers ghosting horror issue? Is it true and can someone test the popular W+E+SPACEBAR, Q+W+SPACEBAR and Q+W+D combination. These three key combination are crucial for WoW and some other MMO and Counter-Strike.

If all 3 key combinations that I mentioned lights up then it is working.

I'll try to get you a report on those...it was one of the first things I tested when I got mine.

IF memory serves me, ONE of those combos didn't work if you add holding a modifier like alt or ctrl.

So you couldn't jump strafe mod spell on your 1-0 keys. You would need to bind something else or get in the habit of releasing that space / movement key quickly.

I'll run it as soon as I can.

I just quoted myself just to ask this: is your experience with this laptop good overall? Would you recommend it to others to buy it? It's been days that I'm trying to make a decision but I can't. I think this is the right place to get the correct info. I've read almost all the posts in here but mostly people talk about problems they have just like in every other owner lounge. If I can get straight answers on this and get referred to a good European online store I will make the purchase.

Bottom line is if your notebook was stolen would you buy the MSI GT70 ONE again?????

If you click on the tab where it says buildergellery there are pictures.

I read your post about the system you built. Interesting stuff. I've always wanted to try this. I'm a network engineer and I started working with computers since I was 17. I'm now 40 :) . My first job was in a big company building custom pc's so you can imagine I've built thousands. I still make my own pc's but I've never built a notebook. I don't even know where to get the parts and I'm afraid if some components end up bot being compatible then I'm screwed.

Well I found it quick easy to be honest. The gt70 is a very easy machine to work on. If you have a good look around on the net you will find all the parts you need for a decent price.

Any good online stores to suggest? This is really starting to interest me.

Just Google shopping and EBay. See what you can find, my build in my Sig managed to cost me only 1200 and I got better spec than the normal gt70.

Forgive me guys, but this is not the MS-17626 bareboner's lounge, and YES, there are several differences and advantages to MSI 'branded' GT70 0NE ownership. This topic has been covered before..... like post #225 HERE, and post #1044 HERE. Please take off-topic barebones discussion to the appropriate thread. Thanks! :)

This lounge is gt70 with 680m the barebone is a gt70 with 680m so this lounge is fine. Unless you dont have 680m.
