Well, delivery was attempted while I was here at home but FedEx is ****ty and didn't knock hard enough for me to even hear them so now my laptop is just going to be sitting on a truck the whole weekend because of the signature requirement on the package. FedEx has to be the worst when it comes to delivering things around here I swear. Was hoping to have a fun weekend of setting up my laptop and now I have to wait until Monday evening until I get off of work and have my laptop sit out on my back porch all day since they couldn't knock hard enough while I was in the living room specifically waiting for them to show up. Get an email 10 minutes after they attempted delivery that no one was home... christ...

I've also been burned with the "it's on the truck" shtick before, looking at it through the Fedex fenced lot.
Try to have a nice weekend anyway -

I've had MULTIPLE deliveries redelivered the same day by FedEx--because I lived in an apartment complex at the time which had a gated front area and they couldn't get in if no one was at the office.
It got so bad that I was even given the phone number to the warehouse!
As long as I contacted the driver VERY QUICKLY after a delivery was attempted, he would usually come back close to the end of his route (around 6-7 pm).hmscott likes this. -

I then quickly called the driver as he left his cell phone number on that note, he said he already left the area. I told him to STOP RIGHT where he is! then drove up to him like 10 mins and collected my taptop.
I agree they don't try hard enough. They have this mentality in their head that the customer is not there, so they ring the bell once and leave. Horrendous.

Fedex has been better in the past, and I think it's also regional, even down to your own route / driver coverage.
I've had great drivers for the most part, going out of their way to make sure they can deliver that same day.Donald@Paladin44 likes this. -
Order placed with HIDEvolution and is currently in pre-production!
Would like to thank @Phoenix for pumping out so much valuable knowledge on this forum which made me pull the trigger on this beast. He made a lurker like me decide to make the purchase.
My experience with HIDEvolution has been nothing short of amazing. Even though I did not have the opportunity to interact with the legendary @Donald@HIDevolution , I had the honor to work with the equally legendary @Ted@HIDevolution . Ted's customer service was insane, he had an hour long call with me to go through each options and answered all my questions with a depth of knowledge I did not expect (I usually do my own research and have had sales reps fail to even answer my questions which is ridiculous).
I'm quite sure my laptop is in great hands and that HIDEvolution will make sure it runs perfectly before sending it over. I mentioned to Ted that I'm not in a rush to get the laptop if it takes more time to stress time and ensure everything is in perfect order (I've had a bad previous experience with another reseller who I shall not name)
Looking forward to hopefully receiving this beast before Christmas and would love to hear if anyone has advice on how to make sure I setup the laptop for success once I first receive it.
Once again thank you @Phoenix and @Ted@HIDevolution , would not be had such a great experience without the both of you.

2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.

The most recent snafu came with the return of my 16L13. The day before it was supposed to arrive, there was a notice in the tracking that claimed a "weather delay" in central Illinois. That was a load of you-know-what because there was no severe weather event in the area where the truck allegedly was, at least not severe enough that would have delayed any other package courier from making it through the area. The package finally makes it to the Chicago area on Saturday, so I figure it will be ready to roll on Monday. Didn't happen. It was delayed another 36 hours before finally showing up on Tuesday, which screwed up my schedule for getting everything rebuilt. Instead of having one go at it, I now have to do it piecemeal, or else wait another week before I can get a few hours of serious time with it. -
FedEx is truly garbage and I will never use them again to ship anything. Even when my 16L13 came, I had it get delivered to my office and was supposed to sign for it but I was out of the office at the time so they just dropped it off with the girls next door and left. Granted, I appreciate it in a sense because it didn't mean me having to wait and have them come back again when I was there so I could actually sign for it and since it's my workplace I trust it being left with people a little more...but still...A nearly $3k laptop I just bought and they just left it with 2 girls next door who answer our phones and I was no where around for him to confirm that it was going to actually get to me etc. God forbid he went to the wrong office in my building or something and just left it with other people, I don't know. Really not a fan. I had an issue as well when I was trying to ship something to someone and they had trouble delivering it or finding the address or something, so the receiver called them because we saw with the tracking it seemed like issues were going on. She called figured out what the issue was and tried to get everything resolved and they said it would be delivered to her tomorrow. Instead they shipped it from SC, all the way up the east coast back to the FedEx facility in CT where it shipped from, then shipped it all the way back down to where it needed to go. A month later I get a bill in the mail for 40-50 dollars saying I owe them all this money for x and y things with the delivery and gas for the travels etc. On top of that by the time the item got delivered to the person I was sending it to, the package was opened and missing contents from it. I had sent a $10 little cup/shot glass along with a couple other items. I had everything packed up with packing paper fully surrounding the items so they could not move or be damaged or have anything happen to them. When the person got the package it was crushed, ripped up, had been opened and resealed with different tape, i had shipped it in a white box that was now half brown because they ripped all the tape off and ripped up the box, and then left a sticky note on the outside of the package saying what was in it (was supposed to be a surprise for the person) and that one of the items was broken. They removed the "broken" item entirely, all of my paper packaging that was in the box and then delivered this mangled mess to the person. When I tried to file a claim they refused to give me any money back or reimburse me for the item that was broken claiming that "I did not pack the package properly or provide any form of packaging etc inside of the box". I was beyond livid after the ordeal I already went through (took like a month to get this item finally delivered). I was finally able to get them to cancel the charges that they were trying to make me pay for, but they still ruined my shipment, destroyed the packaging and items inside of it, opened the package and went through what was inside and removed one of the "broken" items, tried to charge me an extra 40 something dollars at the end of it, and refused to reimburse me for the things that they destroyed. I will never ship anything through fedex again. Even if I ever have to send my laptop back to HID again or something, I will pay out of pocket to use UPS or USPS or anything but fedex to get my item where it needs to go. They are the EA of shipping companies.

My best-worst moment with FedEx came a number of years ago. I ordered a mouse directly from Logitech and happened to be home the day it was supposed to arrive. It never showed up at my house, but the tracking indicated it as having been delivered. Even more peculiar, it said someone signed for it, which was strange because the package was only worth about $50. I called FedEx and was told that the box had been delivered to the Walmart store across town.
Anyway, long story shot, after three more calls to FedEx, I ended up going to the Walmart myself. The manager on duty went back to the stockroom, retrieved my package, and handed it to me on the spot (after verifying my identity). We both had a good laugh at FedEx's stupidity and went on our merry ways.
UPS has been flawless for me. They were extremely helpful when tracking a box that got stolen from my front porch, working with me, Newegg, and my local police on the matter. Heck, even the freaking Post Office has been better than FedEx. I was renewing my passport and had to send my old one to the central office for processing. It was sent certified mail and never showed as having been delivered. I called the USPS, and they put a tracer on it. Not expecting anything for a while, they called me the next day saying that it was in fact delivered safely and profusely apologized for the inconvenience. I was absolutely stunned. -
These Fedex horror stories are making me pray for the safety of my laptop as it tries to make its way over to Chicago

@Donald @hidevolution were a pleasure to work with. I went to HIDevolution's site and put in what I wanted. Donald emailed within 5 minutes of placing the order to talk about it. This was at 2330 his time when he should have been sleeping, noon for me as I am working in Afghanistan.
He was super helpful in getting me a couple of discounts, one being joining this site of which I have been a lurker for quite some time.
He also helped me in saving money on the build itself such as, saving money by getting no PCIe/SATA m.2 drive since I already have a Samsung 960 Pro 1TB awaiting this laptop when I receive it. All I need to do when I receive the laptop is put in my drive, plug in the clean install (Windows 10, drivers, MSi Utilities, NO BLOATWARE) USB they are creating for me and install the OS.
He also saved me money by talking me out of the 1 year dead pixel warranty, which is not needed. He said that they talk everyone they can out of getting that upgrade. The reason being that defects are going to happen during the manufacture process, not later on down the road unless 5-6 years down the road and with their 30 day warranty you are guaranteed to get a perfect panel with no dead pixels. They only offer it due to some people telling them that they went with other companies because it was offered and at the time HIDevolution didn't.
It is $100.00 extra, but I am so glad that they offer and I went with the 'Minimize Backlight Bleed" option. They take all models of the laptop you are ordering and check them out for light bleed and you will receive a panel that is in the top 20% (better than 4/5 panels).
Now the fun part begins...awaiting build and shipment!!! Will post up a full review once I receive the laptop and put it through its paces.
Once again it was a pleasure dealing with Donald and HIDevolution and would reccomend them to anyone in the market for a new laptop. -

Appreciate the offer, but I already do most of that myself, other than the Win 7 stuff. I actually like the start menu on Win 10. I just unpin everything from start so all I see are my apps/programs and I turn off all the suggestions for the start menu like recently installed, most used, etc...
As far as Windows telemetry stuff, I can't turn it off, although I know how to do it and turn off automatic Windows updates. I am in the Fast Ring of Windows Insider. Downloading the newest Redstone 4 preview build as I speak (17040). I am really digging the Acrylic design moving forward. -

I am a little worried after reading another thread on these GEx3 laptops. Some people were complaining of what should have been coil whine, but they were talking about it coming from different places on the laptop. One person said they heard it coming from around the RAM which probably was coil whine from the GPU, but someone else said it was coming from the front of the laptop. Also, definitely glad I went with the screen options I did after one person in the thread had to return their laptop (to a different reseller) after their screen messed up after very little use. -
It's been a few days since I received my MSI GT75VR and so far it has been a blast.
The screen (colored corrected by HIDEvolution) is the best I've seen, even given that it's a TN panel. The laptop runs games buttery smooth with it's 120hz 3ms g-sync panel and GTX 1080 graphics card. They keyboard is a joy to type on, being really responsive and good to the touch. The laptop is deadly silent when browsing the web compared to my old ASUS G750 and the fans keep the laptop cool. The only aspect of the laptop that I'm getting used to is the sound quality. At times with lower quality videos, the sound does not come off as clear.
Huge shout out to @Phoenix for also hooking me up with his legendary tweaks. I initially thought it would only take 15mins to do some quick tweaks, but Phoenix took the time to really ensure that the tweaks were not only made, but he also explained to me in detail on why the tweaks are needed. He showed me step by step how he did it and also explained how the steps I would need to take to maintain my laptop in the future. I may get in touch with you after it arrives. Thinking about getting out of the Windows Insider program. I have not run into any problems at all until this latest build (17046) and the problem I am having is a weird one. If I download an installer for a program and run it. It will not run after clicking yes in UAC. However, if I reboot my computer and run the installer right after reboot it works like a charm. -

Killer cards are better when you have any Killer hardware esp. Killer Ethernet. You can always buy the killer card from India as well it will be pricey but Killer has good coverage even when wifi signal is low.
Follow @Phoenix Win 10 Installation guide and tweaks to get the most out of ur PC. -
About the network card, I went with Intel 8265 purely because it has Bluetooh 4.2, which Killer does not have. (I'm not sure if it matters at all)
Also, I do intend to follow that guide as well as the official laptop thread where people have given great suggestions.Vasudev likes this. -

I don't get how windows is not bluetooth 4.2 compatible, when Intel is including bluetooth *5.0* in their upcoming 9260 card. So surely it will have to be compatible eventually.
-
">> Does Windows support Bluetooth Smart 4.2 and IPv6 communication over bluetooth? If not what is the estimate on when it will be supported.”
According to the MSDN document, the windows 10 mobile currently supports Bluetooth 4.1. Microsoft official did not give a clear time to show when it will support Bluetooth 4.2.
If you want to support Bluetooth 4.2, you could give a feedback to UserVoice:

Microsoft will arrange the development priority according to the number of submissions.
