As you may be well aware, Windows 10 although boasts great support for new hardware and is required to make the most out of your new hardware especially newer CPUs which are not supported on previous OSes like Windows 7 anymore, it has its quirks and privacy invasion like automatically sending your keystrokes, displaying ads, telemetry, and much more.
While there are many utilities out there such as O&O ShutUp10 that help you eliminate most if not all of the nasty stuff, the Home Edition lacks one very important feature which is the Group Policy Editor. Think of it as flying on an airplane, do you want to be the passenger or the pilot in control? That's exactly what the Group Policy Editor enables you to do, be in control of how your OS behaves.
Examples of things you can disable / enable easily with the Group Policy Editor:
1) Turn off file history completely (this is a useless feature which Microsoft is phasing out in its next build but you can still disable it now)
2) Disable / Prevent your computer from joining a Home Group (Home Group is a crippled way of sharing files that rarely works if ever, one is better off manually selecting the folders that he wants to share and giving them appropriate permissions by right clicking on that folder and navigating to the Sharing tab)
3) Disable Windows DVR (Gameplay Recording Mode). If you have that enabled which is the default state, then Steam warns you that it may hamper your game play/performance so its best to turn it off completely using the Group PolicyEditor). You can do this in the Home Edition but it requires a lot of complex registry edits which are time consuming. There are better tools to record game play such as nVIDIA's Shadow Play or better yet, a program by Mirillis called "Action!"
4) Turn off Microsoft Consumer Services
5) Turn off Microsoft Customer Experience Improvement Program
6) Completely disable Windows Defender and not have it re-enable itself if you are wanting to install your own AntiVirus since Windows Defender bogs down the system's performance by as much as 36% according to the latest AV Comparatives Performance Test: http://chart.av-comparatives.org/chart1.php?chart=chart4&year=2017&month=5&sort=1
We recommend ESET NOD32 AntiVirus if you value your system's security AND performance and want a bloatware free AV
7) Disable Windows Driver Updates through Windows Updates
8) Turn off the Windows Explorer Notification about new apps that can handle new extensions. By default, every time you install a new application that can handle an extension, let's say, a new video player or an internet browser, etc. you get an annoying popup telling you that you have installed a new application that can handle these extensions
9) Disable Windows Error Reporting, that never does any good and only eats a lot of space writing the details of background errors. Microsoft has never in its history fixed any of these reported errors so why keep this useless service enabled on your system and creating unnecessary writes to your SSD?
10) Disable unwanted features such as Windows Ink, biometrical features, etc.
11) Disable automatic downloading of map updates (who needs map updates on a laptop? this is not a GPS device /phone)
12) Turn off Work Folders (this is used in corporate environments and not needed for home or power users)
and much more, these are just some of the things you can control with the Group Policy Editor.
13) Turn off smart multi-homed name resolution in Windows to prevent DNS leakage while connected to a VPN.
Smart multi-homed name resolution is a DNS related feature that Microsoft introduced in Windows 8 and implemented in Windows 10 as well.
The feature is designed to speed up DNS resolution on a device running Windows 8 or newer by sending DNS requests across all available network adapters. Microsoft refined the feature in Windows 10 as it selects the information that is returned the fastest automatically.
While the feature makes sense from a performance point of view, it introduces an issue from a privacy one.
If you connect to a VPN network on a Windows machine for instance, smart multi-homed name resolution may lead to DNS leakage. Since requests are sent out to all network adapters at the same time, all configured DNS servers receive the requests and with them information on the sites that you visit.
This feature can be disabled using the Group Policy Editor only and thus, cannot be disabled if one has the Home Edition. -
Pro edition is more important than ever because of this pile of tiled pastel colored trash!! None should touch Windoze X Home Edition(Horror Edition).Spartan@HIDevolution and Donald@Paladin44 like this. -
You could always upgrade to Pro down the line to save some money on your initial purchase.

- OS Reinstallation + Drivers USB Flash Drive as option. No need for it Depends if you can handle eveything by yourself. A working OS is much more importent. At least for me!!

It is a lot easier, and faster, to just plug the USB drive in, instead of having the hunt for drivers or utilities on the internet...and critical to have if you cannot reach the internet or boot up.Spartan@HIDevolution, hmscott and Papusan like this. -

1- Uninstallation of all the Windows Store Garbage Apps
2- Removing all Windows 10 Privacy Invasion stuff like Telemetry, sending your keystrokes to Microsoft, automatically installing suggested apps in the background, allowing Microsoft to conduct experiments on your laptop, disabling automatic driver updates through Windows updates, disabling Windows 10 ads, disabling cortana, etc.
3- Removal of nVIDIA and Intel Telemetry
4- Adjusting a lot of options in PC Settings like disabling Windows Tablet Mode (you have a laptop not a tablet), disabling suggestions appearing in the start menu, disabling automatically connecting to Paid WiFi Hotspots, disabling Game DVR which reduced performance in games, and a lot more.
5- Replacing Cortana with a much better search tool that finds results instantly
6- Restoring the classic Windows 7 Calculator and Windows Photo Viewer
7- Restoring the Classic Windows 7 Start Menu
8- Turning off smart multi-homed DNS name resolution in Windows which may lead to DNS Leakage when using a VPN (must have Windows 10 Pro for disabling it as it can only be disabled via the Group Policy Editor)

It's already a pain in the butt to deal with problems in shipping or any issues with a product, much more so when it's overseas. So when you order a big ticket item and it's delivered quickly, it's well-packaged and in good condition, it's a huuuge relief.Donald@Paladin44 and Georgel like this. -

Can you post some photos of packaging used in Transcontinental shipment of a Laptop? -
I amalso a bit curious about what shipping service was used, mainly because DHL opened a few packages of mine and a shipping company opening a laptop package is a huge NO-GO in my book.
I remember that the taxes can also be somewhat better for EU users because most shops have a headquarters in EU as well, and so the packages are dispatched form there -
Note: will update post with cleaner link when I get to computer (updated)

Welp, finally did it! Placed my order and now all I have to do is wire the money to Donald tomorrow. Can't wait for this to get going! First enthusiast laptop here I come. My friends were giving me **** about getting such an expensive laptop. But I was just like, "You'll see, my laptop is more powerful than most of your rigs and if I want I should be able to upgrade my CPU to the Gen 8 if I ever needed Possibly volta as well if they stick with the same mxm design." Hopefully it goes like that. Lol

The most I plan to do is 2560x1440 @ 120-144hz tops, I have no real need to game in 4k. If I do use it for 4k then it would only be to watch movies and tv shows, definitely not game.
Also, thoughts on the signature I put together? I think it looks pretty awesome. I had to recreate the whole EVOC gaming one because the cut off shadows on it really bothered me. Luckily the fonts they used for the main part were easy to find, the lower text I found something as close as I could get.Last edited: Sep 23, 2017 -

Neat looking signature, but it's a little too large. Try to shrink it down a bit so it's not so tall.
-
What? It's 145px tall, your signature is 170px tall. Lol How is it too large?
Edit: Shrunk it down by 35 pixels, should look a bit less stand outish now.Last edited: Sep 23, 2017 -
@Donald@HIDevolution When you start putting my order together sometime next week, can you do me a solid and put the 2x8GB RAM sticks on the top of the motherboard so I can expand another 16GB in the future at my leisure without taking the whole motherboard out? I would really appreciate that if it could be done. Let me know, thanks!

All payments have gone through and now I am just waiting for the order to go into production! When I get the laptops I'll give it a review since as far as I was able to see there is only one other review out there and it is by @saturnotaku himself. Always good to have a couple more in the land of Youtube's. If I can ask saturnotaku, what was the rough turnaround time from when the order was put into production until you received it? Just curious since I've never ordered anything quite so custom from a vendor before. Or anyone else for that matter that has ordered something like this.
-

Production time is roughly 7-10 business days from when payment is approved, depending on parts availability. Shipping takes however long it does based on the service you selected and where you are in relation to southern California.

Post has been updated and I'm quite astonished on how fast that production chain went! The laptop went into production and then shipped out in less than 3 hours, crazy efficiency! With everything that needs to be done to this laptop and them getting it done in the time that they did, I can't imagine the experience behind the wheels of this train. Never received anything in regards to stress testing or quality checks like Phoenix did, but I'm assuming they've streamlined the process to not include those anymore since it's been roughly 10 months since he did his order. I can't wait to receive it now, I was expecting it to take at least a couple more days!
