    Interesting.
Do you know any good backpack for this laptop that would be easy on shoulders? I travel a lot so it could be difficult for me if I get the wrong backpack. I thought that a backpack would come with the laptop but I was wrong.

Don't get a backpack until after you receive your MSI GT73VR 7RF TITAN PRO-425 ... :bigwink:

You can order this backpack from Mr. Donald. Be smart, be like Phoenix.......

This is the one I got:

It is very durable, the handles are sturdy despite the heavy weight of the laptop with the charger, it doesn't feel like the handles are going to break if you hold it from only one of them. I have walked in light rain as well while having the backpack on and the laptop wasn't wet so that's another plus point.

Speaking of storage, you can store your entire room in there (not literally) but you have so many pockets / sections it's super roomy and convenient.

PS: It costs an arm and a leg but hey, it's the best out there and this beast deserves nothing but the best.

Lol. I can totally understand what you are going through.
@Phoenix well i am definitely looking to hold on to this laptop for a few years to come. So i should act fast and utilise that 90 days window to get extra warranty from HIDevolution.

Sup configures itself to use a lot of availavle ram for the best results, correct?

I was messing with the free version of it yesterday and saw it grabbed 9 gigs of the available 11 of 16.

If so I'm gonna bump up my ram on my order to 32 gigs instead of 16.

@Maverick389 Did you order yours yet? :)

@Phoenix Can you name the things that you've done to your laptop since the day you got it I'm just curious :p

Also, I was thinking to swap the 1TB SATA HDD (7200RPM) later with this http://www.samsung.com/us/computing...ssd-850-evo-2-5-sata-iii-500gb-mz-75e500b-am/

Do you know if the 1TB SATA HDD (7200RPM) that came from the factory would make a weight difference if removed?
Is this 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III 500GB lighter than the stock HDD? :D

Can I add anything in the empty spot where a SLI GPU would be?

Do you think if I add another 980m gpu in the empty spot it would work in SLI w/GTX1080... I've never seen this so I guess it wouldn't work....

Having an SSD vs an HDD does decrease the weight by a little bit

    Interesting.
I'll get the Kingston 2400mhz ram and get it to 2666mhz since it's the max this laptop accepts... what do you think?

Did you add 2x 850 EVO 2.5" SATA III ?

I think that the ram that's hard to access accepts 2800mhz... :)

Btw, when your laptop was shipped to Memphis, TN... I looked at it in a funny way since I was driving by FedEx facility in Memphis and it was huge... I went with my friends family by car from Chicago to Florida and it was an amazing trip. So wherever your laptop went to I was there except Dubai... I will visit Dubai someday for sure.

After lots of research, discussions and help from you guys, I just ordered a MSI GT73VR 6RF TITAN from HIDevolution.

    Huge thanks to @Donald@HIDevolution.
Mr. Donald helped me the entire time, patiently answering all my questions and solving all the problems I had.
They were nice enough to accept my order since I had problems on the paying process and some restrictions on the shipping, cause I'm travelling to US and need to receive my order on a very specific date range.

    Also special thanks to @Phoenix.
Mr. Phoenix helped me a lot on making my final decision and convinced me to go with MSI. I'm already very happy he changed my mind, cause this laptop looks much more awesome for me and fit my needs perfectly.

So far so good, very good indeed. I can't wait to see my new baby.

Thank you all very much. Now let's hope I can receive it on my deadline.

I didn't get any SSD because I already have some 960 EVOs here.

awesome specs and you will love those freebies! the neck pillow is awesome and is of very high quality. So is the free backpack since you went with the 6RF model.

you ordered the same screen like me, this is the best screen on a laptop hands down. very vibrant colors and super smooth animations thanks to its 120hz refresh rate/5ms

can't wait till you receive this laptop so you can share your review

Do you notice any lag when gaming with a wireless mouse?

I'm on the opposit end of the spectrum. I have a Logitech G502 mouse, A Razer Orbweaver pad to couple with the Steel Series keyboard.

Before I disabled SW Guards Software Extension in the BIOS, the mouse was laggy and stuttering in Windows, let alone in games. After disabling it, 0 stuttering/lag

That mouse was sleeping for a long while bro......you know why?

Because on my previous Clevo P870DM and P870DM3, when I restart, the mouse won't work until I unplugged the USB cable which is connected to its charging pad then reconnected it so it was a hassle so I switched to a Logitech G900 mouse. Now I tried it with this laptop since I like having the same brand of things and this is one less driver to install since the SteelSeries Engine is the driver for both the keyboard and mouse, I thought I would give it another go and to my surprise, it works even after a reboot :)

Yes you can choose individual colors, in fact, that is the default keyboard lights layout:

You can order the SteelSeries Sensei Wireless Gaming Mouse from [email protected] . That's where I got mine to have better warranty vs buying it from Amazon or eBay since HIDevolution would handle the mouse warranty for you.

This laptop is beautiful especially the bezels around the mouse which light up.

I will order this mouse from HID too once I get my laptop. I'm so eager to get the laptop that it's killing me :(

I was thinking to buy another GTX1080 in the future and add it so it would be SLI :p because it's possible and it would be the only GT73VR with SLI 1080's

you can't add another 1080 GTX to this laptop, either dual 1070 GTX in SLI or single 1080 GTX

    Correct @hmscott ?

Also, from my recent experience with SLI, it wasn't all that great, I had 1080 in SLI in my previous P870DM3, it's great in benchmarks but doesn't scale well in games due to lack of interest and/or support in the recent games. Also, with a single GTX 1080, it's more than enough to run VR and at least you won't get micro-stuttering which is in SLI.

Be smart.....go for a single powerful GPU and enjoy stutter free gaming and no need to carry dual power bricks with you

Also, the laser like light that surrounds the trackpad is wicked and just makes the laptop really shine!

1080 SLI on this beast will be possible once the mxm module will be available and currently there is only 1070 for the public... I could get another 1080 mxm if I buy another machine :p although there are no drivers for it and I would have to make my own.

I agree with you single 1080 is the best choice one can get! :)

Can I ask you why are you always in that cafe xD

Alienware trackpad fully light's up I wish MSI would make a mod for the GT73VR where you can buy a trackpad that fully lights up with the same colors from the bezel or make the bezel and trackpad individual so you could turn off the trackpad itself and leave the bezel on only :)

Those lights are just amazing! Also, I watched the videos you sent me and they're amazing which made me even more eager to get my lil machine. I will need to give it a name :)

    Thanks bro!

I named my computer TITAN (you know in the system properties rather than the default DEKSTOP-BLABLA934) that Windows puts

that's the first step to do once you are in Windows to ensure when you set a rul in the Group Policy Editor, the rule has been applied to the computer name you put as the rule usually goes by:

    COMPUTERNAME\USERNAME\RULE

What rules? example, Allow Windows to connect to a Home Group = Disabled
Disable Windows Error Reporting = Enabled

Do you think that the MSI GT73VR I ordered is still better?
    The Tornado F5 is lighter!

it's better only *if* you don't mind a 15 inch laptop. To me, anything smaller than 15inch is useless. It is better in the sense that it has a desktop CPU and still sports the awesome MSI/SteelSeries Keyboard. It can also accept faster RAM up to 3200MHz although I am not sure if that even works for now as the latest G.Skill RAM has been very problematic and G.Skill are aware of the issues and are working on it.

I'll just stick with the MSI GT73VR :)
I feel like the quality is better, and I can still upgrade the GPU with a new MXM module in the future.
Is your ram Kingston HyperX? 4x16GB 2400mhz? Do you know what's the stock ram?

I went with the stock RAM as it has lower CAS Latency and to avoid any compatibility issues...... this is the stock RAM that I have: Kingston MSI24D4S7D8MB-16 2400 MHz.(17-17-17-39) 64GB DDR4 RAM

from HIDevolution?!? where you are buying it from? You don't want to dismantle the entire motherboard to access the RAM slots under the keyboard! let them do that for you

I would get it from HID but they don't have Kingston in their options... besides I don't have enough money to afford it currently since I got 2x samsung 960 evo's raid 0

I have idea should I call Donald and ask him if he can get the same ram you have instead of getting raid 0 storage since I can add storage myself without dismantling the whole motherboard...

I know. Should I call them tomorrow and ask to keep the stock storage and add 2x16GB of Kingston ram under the keyboard in the slots that are hard to access? Later I could add storage and another 2x16gb of ram myself since it's easy to access the rest.
