Windows 7 Home Premium is delivered with 32/64 bit which can be installed by using the recovery media.
Blu ray isn't know if it's installed by default.

Anyway, I don't know where to buy those... on the main Medion website, there are only crappy Core 2 Duo notebooks. o_O

Any reseller shipping to Italy, maybe with an italian keyboard?

Anyway, where can I buy it from Italy?

It's also available at Sager and Asus .. pretty sure more would follow.
But MSI and Medion would be the cheapest of them all.

i7 released i9 coming, so it's just question of imagination. The more rivals, the better prices ;d.

Don't focus too much on the so called i9 mobile.. the wait will be very long.

    GT725 / Advent 6555 or 7555 comes to mind.

They deal intependantly, MSI have an overall good service, but i think it requires shipping in,

And the last time i dealt with medion, they came right to my door, with the components, mobo cpu etc etc, and they swapped it out after diagnosing it, A* service from them :).

Don't know about Medion .. but MSI offer 2yrs Global warranty with the ability to extend it through a package thing for another yr or so.

On top of that , you should get the 1yr from whoever you buying it.

That's how it is in the UK anyway.

EDIT: there you go , Medion seems positive according to Mr Cata ;)

Ok, I've read how the warranty works here.

    It sucks.

You have to ship the notebook and pay the shipment. >.>

Even the phone number is hella expensive.

    Hey ppl,

ama quite new here, just started looking for the new laptop, so far my current one is not too crappy ( or maybe yes, haha) but anyway i am willing to pay some money after almost 2 years for playing games again on the best perf which can be, rather than argue my current one to work smooth at least on medium details :)

Soooo, i had a discussion with my colleagues for a week where we tried to find some good steel for me, firstly we discovered the GT628 with GF 160M, but what i read about it really pissed me off ( gpu performance are really displumed)....

I was almost fully decided for buying this machine because if i compared it with other laptops in same cost stage, that one was on the top anyway...

but as it happens, from nothing, iv found this one GX740 :)

firstly i was surprised with the price, big time... ( am from Europe, Czech Republic, where the price seems to be set around 22k czk ( approx 1200 bucks - and yes, we are talking about "lowest" model with i5...but anyway... its quite good price though) never mind, so i decided to forgot all the stuff about GT628 and started to dig something up about GX740 model...

BUT the point with am really unsure is the ETA time... can somebody confirm it would be "MID or LATE MARCH" ?

Am the person who almost never bought any brand new electronic when it was released, because as soon as you buy, the price will go down basically inmediatelly after you let the money go from your hand :) .... but now... to this "little beast" i feel the difference ( GPU , new technology, not those old one "tuned" technologies like Nvidia is using...)

Do you guys really think it make sense to buy that one for such money or not? I really feel myself very comfortable with this kind of laptop, after long long time, and i dont want to do the mistake,

thanks for reading this, any concerns let me know, am willing for open discussions :p

otherwise yeah that one your looking gx740 it worth its money, it has i7\4gram\500hdd as most others have, also it has HD5870 graphic card which's good at all, its a first class dx11 card, but ill advise you to wait a little bit more, the're more machines coming don't hurry.

Dude, in the moment Asus has g73, MSI GT660 and Medion upcoming, as well Clevo might appear with something else so .., i'm pretty sure that in the next few months they'll show up with few more. I don't doubt they might be better than their predecessor.

    2x,

regarding processors am afraid as well, what i can see, currently on our stores its Intel Core i5-430M mentioned, not i7 (however, on the other site, they are writing a preview and talking about that GX640 will be equipped with 5800 and i5, and GX740 will go with i7 and 5870, so am really confused...

i checked MSI pages where I7 is mentioned, its really mess...

again, could somebody from you in US confirm the price, at least approx.. ? Is 1300 bucks real deal for GX740 with i7 procs? As for this price we really have only i5 in here mentioned, its maybe because it was not even shipped at all, and guys dont have an idea what should be there and talking bull to the customers :)...

I assume they will offer the i7s only in GT740 version here in europe... but we will see

    P.S.
Do you accept International Orders and how is the warranty handled?

Xotic PC gladly accepts International Orders. For any International Order (Outside of US/Canada/PR/GU) we require payment via Bank Wire, Check or Money Order. For any Warranty the customer is responsible for shipping both ways to our service center in the US.

Xotic PC provides International Shipping via UPS and USPS. UPS is our recommended option for International Customers. USPS provides slower transit times and if the package is lost or damaged the USPS claim process can take much more time then UPS.

yes mate, indeed... but have a look on this for instance...

    http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/31600/msi-gx640-gx740-gaming-laptops

also from the xotipc.com i can see for the GX740 under "information"

MSI GX740-079US , the second numbers definitely stands for "ONLY US MODEL" .... means i7 in the US only...but i am only quessing...

BTW: even if it would be offered with i5 here, the frequency for it is 2.26ghz , agains 1.6ghz on i7.... i assume that in this case maybe the i5 would be at least on same level if it works on much higher frequency than the i7 quad ( do not count turbo mode, where it should go at least on 2.5ghz...)

In every single benchmark I've checked, the i7-720qm smashes the i5-430m. It's a total different sector.

The only thing where the i5 wins is the consumption.

The core i7 620m is still a decent alternative compared to the 720, particularly if you know your tasks won't be using all 4 cores. However, over the long term, that's not going to be the case.

I'm debating between the two. GX640 with a 620M or GX740 with a 720QM. The 740 will obviously outperform in games with the 5870 but how much extra battery would you get from a 35W vs 45W processor?
