Kinda disappointed that the volume only will go up to what windows will allow. I have a feeling the 5 speaker system is a gimmick and wont be a real wow factor. Gonna decide by tonight if I want to purchase this or a toshiba.

Oh how I wish there were an MSI nearby to look at. Nobody has them. And especially the 725's....which are the only ones with the complete speaker system (4 speakers and subwoofer). Ah well....I ordered mine anyway...I'll let ya know!

what the?! lol no tester!! I meant, you knoe how the 725 ships like C: for OS only then theirs a D: Drive? how do you just put everything in C: like erase D: completely so everything will be on C: with the OS. OR its alot better like that? OS on drive C: then everything I install will be on drive D:? will that make any problems?

Well, I got my GT725-075US yesterday and I love it! One problem, though, and I'm sorry if it's already been gone over here. The Blu-Ray player will not play the newer disks. I can play my Casino Royale BD without any problems, but when I try to play Quantum of Solace, it tells me I need to update my player. I've updated the firmware from Sony, but still no use. I think the issue is the WinDVD 8 that came with the system. Anybody else had this issue and are there any solutions?

I think the 1680X1050 of this GT725 version is alright becuase you can crank more up and more fps. 2 of my friends got it and it looks solid as hell. No screen bleed no no flaws. I dont knoe, I think some of the 074's got shipped with bad screens that makes that screen bleed.

I have no complaints at all about the speakers. Sure, the bass isn't exactly booming, but what do you expect from a 2" subwoofer? Still, it does a better job than any laptop I've heard. They are quite loud, and even more important, very clear even at full blast. No tinny sound at all.

Well I got windows XP up and running on my GT725, but I need the drivers for the ATI Mobility Radeon 4850 graphics card, I know that someone said they contacted MSI directly about it, but I'm not sure. If anyone has a link to the drivers please tell me!

Get the video drivers from that link. Also, where did you get the drivers for the webcam, as those were not listed on that site.

    Thank you so much!!!

I havent found a driver for the webcam yet, but I was thinking of mailing MSI to ask if they know of anywhere to get one for windows XP

EDIT: Well I installed all of the drivers listed on the website, and I still have a few peices of hardware that are not detected. Under "Other Devices" It does not recognize Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus and a USB Device [which is weird because I used my USB flash drive to install the drivers]

Then under "SCSI and RAID controllers" it does not recognize Mass Storage Controller and SDA Standard Host Controller.

Any help on what I can do to fix this would really be appreciated.

    @ Tester

I do have the Touchbutton driver installed, here is a screenshot of my hardware devices.

    When I tried to install the intel storage manager, i got an error saying that the computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software, and when i tried to install the bluetooth I got an error message stating 'Error 2753 the file 'Setupdiu.exe' is not marked for installation' and so the bluetooth device could not be installed. ; _ ;

Did you have bluetooth on. I read you need to have it on when installing. Also here is a possible driver for the modem.
    http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=driverfile&dno=7209&i=0
Even though it says vista, the read me file says windows xp. Let me know how things come along and if you get the modem driver working and the usb device. I'm more concerned about the usb device as I will turn off the modem in the bios/ device manager, as I dont think I would ever use it.
Here is a different bluetooth driver. Its for the gt735, but it should work for the 725. Has both vista and xp drivers.

You know, maybe I need the drivers, not the software. Because I tried downloading the "simple camera" software from MSI, but when I opened it, it defaulted to my tv tuner (via usb) that I have connected and didn't show that I have a webcam option. But when I press the webcam button, it does look like it's turned on (I get the graphic in the bottom right). Hmmm.....and I can't find the webcam in device manager or control panel.

You can use gt735 webcam driver , i've used it in my gx620 , it is the driver for Chicony, (Sonix260) 2.0M Camera CNF7231 , the link is for 32 and 64 bit Vista (not only 32 like what you Read in the link).

Link For The Webcam msi Driver

update the driver from device manager if setup.exe did not work.

    Hi!

    I have compared it.

The Hardware ID (WebCam) @ the GT725 is:

    USB\VID_04F2&PID_B073&REV_1208&MI_00

    seems to be the same

as I said, the setup.exe do not work with Vista x64 an XP x64
The driver must be installed manually and it works perfectly. ;)

Yesterday, I was already on the website of Chicony...to looking for the right cam driver. I have downloaded several drivers but none worked.
    You are the greatest! :D

Before you try to trick **** the system, put the disk in that came with your computer. It's the one labeled "NOTEBOOK". It has all of your drivers and utility software on it.

    Hi!

Yes, since the ATI 9.4 is no longer necessary a modded *.inf, but you have to do a manually install!

    Link:
Sorry, i have the ATI-Link fixed. I can also download it from the Global ATI-Site.

    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx

Incidentally, the 9.5 has been released, but its beta only!

In the next days I will again to create a "HD4850 Mobility BIOS Mod" tutorial in english.
At this moment its available in German only. (with pics) Here

Here is the modded HD4850 Mobility BIOS *. rom.
Its unlock the overclocking limitation @ 650/1200. (no other changes)

be careful! You flash at your own risk!!!!
    without my responsibility!
too high Overclocking can damage your videocard!

    edit:

but i cant connecting to Online Resultbrowser (ORB). damn

    Who said it is cramped?
It takes no time, jus start using the WASD keys.

If u like the arrow keys u might take time.

    Ppl rarely use Crtl, Fn.
The alpha keys are all same no big difference.

Thanks man, so you mean to say, download from official amd site for 9.4 driver and catalyst and for 9.4, we dont need modded inf's anymore? So, just have to manually install it? Follow direction from 725.de

actually, its sufficient if you download the "driver only" from official amd site.
The CCC there is not applicable.

The CCC from the DNA-Driver is working only for the Mobility HD 4850 and so on.

Oh wow cool, you think we can do this tomorrow night? Im not at home right now. Unless you can give me step by step and the links for the downloads that i need. So i dont have to bother you wtih more questions. I just really feel bad about asking alot of qurstions, only if the modtool works for 4850. So yea if you can kindly pm me the links to download and the procedure. The main thing that confuses me is when i download the driver from amd/ati. Then download 9.4driver from donotargue.com but theres no 9.4 tho.

    1. download ATI 9.4 from AMD
    2. download ATI DNA 9.2 from donotargue.com

Then follow the instructions here (@ "the correct install (Vista):"). Thats it!

If you've done 1-2 times, its no more difficult. ;)
