quality super high
edit v-sync was off
i am runing it again -
-
Faisalhero I just want to say thanks for all the input you have given this thread! I can't wait to get my grubby hands on this bad boy
-
-
same 60fps
scene 1 = 70.23fps
scene 2 = 57.80fps
scene 3 = 84.66fps
scene 4 = 53.10fps -
Heh if you have CS:S you should run the built-in benchmark with maxed out settings.
I was able to get 316 FPS average. -
-
i just run on high
60fps again lol
s1=75.59
s2=65.99
s3=88.36
s4=54.71 -
-
is that on super high everything ? -
you need to have fraps. don't you have this??
i was looking for my runs on this. let me run one real quick. -
-
lol
nah, it's not about beating, just how well they compare...
besides, break out that over clock and run it again. your system is made to run over clocked!(big chilli-cheese grin)
edit: dang, kevin...our gt's are doing us like that????
-
edit
u mean u want me to run it with turbo mode ? -
bring on the secret weapon..lol. yep, i know what cha mean..
yep, turbo mode. -
-
-
-
-
it's everything super high.
on yours...your cpu was running slightly better on one of your runs. (speculation) -
-
The 60fps on the side isn't an average, it's a marker. Is that what you're talking about?
Turbo Mode is a gimmick for most games. A CPU overclock will rarely net you a difference at this res, except in Crysis, GTA4, and RTS games. -
what cha mean? you ran one with turbo enabled?
-
lol yes post number 671
-
Hey faisal have you run any of these games with AA enabled yet? If so how badly did it effect the frame rate?
-
In a side note, there's a German GT627 review claiming 3DMark06 score of almost c. 8900, and 9130 w/Turbo... high compared to what cuib reported. They also did a bunch of game benchs, but almost all at only 1024x768(?!).

Hmm hope this works, it's with the google translate of German -> English already to go...
[EDIT]
I'm catching up on the thread, so bear with me here...
@faisalhero
Yeah, this Frosty guy gets most of his specs wrong, even when they're available on the MSI US site... His video reviews are highly amusing when he gets some specs wrong even though a box with the specs on the label is sitting right there in front of him... he sort of frightens me in that he doesn't seem to know his products very well...
@Jlbrightbill
I pointed this out quite a ways back in the thread and got slagged(by some other english) off for my troubles. Also pointed out that the temps look to be from AFTER he shut the game down, as they're WAY too low for in game temps... I further pointed out that hwmonitor could be configured to save the temp and other sensor data to a csv file which could be imported to some spreadsheet app for other manipulation/graphing too... [EDIT2] That's very odd that the ATI driver is NOT reporting temps, wonder how it controls the fan then? Purely driven by CPU temps? Probably the mobility Radeon ATI drivers are still half-baked, which MAY be why they're delaying US release, while I had thought that they were having problems sourcing the 1920x1200 LCD panel... Still if that was the case I don't know why they'd be delaying the lower end model... I wonder if the other catalyst drivers report the thermal sensor on it...
How are the desktop 4850 temps? I saw on newegg review in December that one owner claimed the ASUS one had max temp of c. 55C while gaming which seemed quite unbelievably low or do ATI cards generally run cooler? (That was my inital assumption, but now I'm beginning to wonder if the reviewer didn't record temps and only looked AFTER quitting the game, in which case the temps would already be significantly lower than during the game as they drop off rapidly, or at least they do with my nVidia cards...
[/EDIT2]
[EDIT3]
yeah, turbo mode will ONLY help games that are CPU bound or have a highly demanding CPU component...
Are there any drivers to offload PhysX stuff to the GPU like the nVidia ones yet? And I really wonder in some of the more GPU demanding games if that's really such a good idea anyways...
[EDIT3]
[/EDIT] -
So tell me one thing. This laptop is good to buy or not? I was wanting the Laptop to play games and to do some CAD and VIZ...
-
WTH? My poor bleeding eyes...
-
-
-
ICEQ4 cooled 4850's though peak in the high 50's to low 60's. So it really depends on which you buy. If this laptop has a pretty good cooling solution to go with the lower clocks I'm sure it'll be fine. It can't be any worse than ATI's desktop reference design that's for sure. -
Any more info on what frosty was talking about with that bug or whatever?
-
anyway temp coming up next i been playing crysis for 3 hours and while is running i took the temp i ll upload it in a min
edit ;- temp crysis runing 3 hours
-
u should go for gt627.
i am using mine 725 just for games its a treat for myself. and 725 is not something u will carry around with u and its not easy either.
its freaking havey and big barely fit in msi back pack.
and gt627 is a very good machine aswell i think u can play pretty much any
game on that too maybe not on the hightest setting but on good setting and u will save some money -
really need the gpu temps.... that game drives your gpu's hard...
-
-
Try downloading the latest ATi Tool.
-
arghh wish someone had the 4850's right now or had the 625 in stock in the usa. id grab one. id love to go back to a 15" that is a powerhouse
-
nope, you gotta stay with the 17's and up and carry them around like you we're lifting weights..like the rest of us.
good call. was going to suggest something like that as well.
-
yeah im eyeing that new asus coming out as well as the new sager due out.. hmmm i think next will end up being a 18" setup.. man my aching back. i still think id grab a great 15"er for going to meetings and places like las vegas for say ces etc.. instead of taking the massive system on the planes etc.. im keeping 2 of the 1651's and also a 1722 i bought just for those purposes and ill be dropping the 4800 series in them as soon as i get my hands on them
-
-
just uninstall that program and reboot.
-
-
-
i think it was one off thing it poped up and i click block insted allowed darn it was registery change still not working after uninstalling the whoe thing i guess system restore next ? -
now check windows firewall and make sure it didn't add it there.
check your services and make sure it's still not loading.
or
do a system restore back to yesterday would probably be a safe bet. -
Size: according to the MSI US site specs, the dimensions of the GT725 appears to only be slightly larger than those of te GT627, i.e. ~1" wider, and ~.5" deeper, and about the same height. (2.54cm/~1.27cm)
The weight difference appears to only be about 1.5lbs as well. (~.75kg)
Do those dimensional and weight differences make that much of a difference?
