The only one modification I can afford is MSI GT75VR 7RF-056 titan pro. It doesn't have QHD (only fhd) and only 16gb ram, I think it's enough for me.

Have you not seen the movie from which it comes? FURY. It is not your ordinary war movie.

I've seen it, and yes, it's not, cause it's your ordinary movie. Our movies are about real war.

It works just fine in your turdbook.
Just the Bios won't identify the adapter properly. Instead of the name appearing, the PCI ID string will appear instead.....

 i want to buy it and the reseller told me that the new 1550 chip is only compatibel with coffe lake and intel chipset Z370 and not with my MSI which has only Z270...
ok, he want no money from me, so i wait a few days more.

To explain for other who don't know it.
There is the 1550 wich is related to the 9260 wireless chip from intel and then there are the 1550i and 1550s. both chips are related to the 9560 from intel and support the new wireless mode for the upcoming 2nd Generation of coffee lake cpus which will have the wireless chip in the cpu and not longer on a M.2 chip. this can save pcie lanes for other stuff.

if I'm wrong let me know it.

@Falkentyne you remember my last pic from testing with prime and the temps?
as recommend i run after 2 weeks a new prime95 test and have now 8-9° less then two weeks before.
i didn't change anything on my settings could this be possible?

Do you have your screenshot from 2 weeks ago?
8-9C lower on ALL cores is not possible unless:

    1) you were not using 100% fan speed before and now you are
    2) Ambient temps (room) are lower (ambient airflow temps have a direct influence on temps)

picture one in my previous post is two weeks ago and the second one is from today.
    1. cooler boost was activated two weeks ago and today
    2. ambient temps two weeks ago i don't know maybe 20-21° not more. today it is 21°.
and i use my Asus RoG Swift 27" for the new test.

If those are 2 weeks ago and current pictures,
It means the settings you are using are not identical.

In the first picture, CPU package power is 66W
Second picture, CPU package power is 53W.

That is why the temps are lower.

Something has changed in your setup.
    Voltages?
Core IA AC DC loadline setting?

Neither of your pictures have the "VID" shown.
You need to show the VID so an estimation of the current voltage can be known.

Also did you change CPU Current Limit (ICCMax) / VR Current Limit in the Bios, to 800-1000 ?
If you did not, you are going to throttle with prime95.

You can check the Bios setting "VR Current Limit" anytime. Don't leave that at auto. Best to set value of 800. Don't go above 1000 or it will 'revert' to auto because of overflow.

But for the big difference in power draw, I don't know at all. If CPU mhz is exactly the same (3900 mhz?), then it means voltages are different. But you did not show VID in either screenshot so its impossible to know!

I can't even do a comparison prime run with my system because the starting voltage you are using has a direct influence on temps. Even if it's adaptive voltage, if you changed the IA AC DC loadline hidden Bios setting to "5" from the default of Auto, that is going to reduce load voltages by at least 100mv (there is some formula beyond me but 1.80 mOhms of resistance is the auto setting. So if the starting voltage is 1.1v, and there is 1.80 mOhms of resistance applied to it, the end voltage will be above 1.2v. Maybe someone else can figure that out).

    ...
i check my settings and i forget that i play around with the offset it was running with -100... after removing it and restart the test.

    There we go.

BTW I found out what the IA AC DC loadline setting is doing to people's voltages.

    It uses milliohms of resistance.
How many milliohm in 1 ohm? The answer is 1000.

Intel reference value for this platform is 1.80 mOhms (Bios value=180 is the same as "Auto"). For Coffee Lake Z370, the reference value is 210 or 2.1 mOhms.

    So, 1.8 milliohms = 1.8 / 1000 = 0.0018 Ohms.
So the way Ohms affects voltages is, if the amps is known (or estimated),
Amps x mOhms=vcore, which is added to starting vcore or VID.

    So 80 Amps x .0018 = .144 volts.

So if your starting vcore is 1.08v, and you are pulling 80 amps of current, your resulting vcore will be 1.08 + 0.144= 1.224v

    For 1.25v, that's 1.25v + .144=1.394v, if you are pulling 80 amps of current.

That's why you need the unlocked Bios and need to access that Core IA AC DC loadline setting, unless you are using adaptive voltage only since adaptive uses the default VID, and when overclocked, the CPU is never going to be stable on the default VID, which is the reason for the Intel reference value for these platforms).

Why they affect Static voltages, when they shouldn't, is anyone's guess.

ok i just fixed the stuttering issue, just reinstall driver, i purchased mine from HID evolution and im verry happy! does anyone here have any experience with overclocking there system? i overclocked it in the msi gaming center to max which is 41x and the GPU is 150mhz and mem 250mhz, my temps are still verry good and fans arent even hitting 50%! how much more do you think i can get out of it? and how come MSI after burner wont start up? keeps giving me a "missing side components" type of message.

Hey @Tailong how much are we talking about? I am also planning to buy this from HIDEvolution and I am situated in Germany.

This laptop should last you a good 4-5 years, according to me.

Installing the NVMe SSDs should not be hard. As far as I saw, the back panel can be easily removed and the slots are right there. Perhaps you can contact Donald in case of doubt.

    Request for owners:

Seeing GT75 in videos it looks a lot thicker at the back than the spec says... what’s the measured maximum height on the hinge side when it’s closed?

Probably I'm willing to bet they just used the same spec listing for the GT73VR. While the heatsinks are the exact same, there's minor dimension changes to accommodate the short throw mechanical keyboard, and the power/GPU LED looks different too. Very highly likely the MS-17A2 mainboard has the same dimensions as the 17A1 mainboard.

Here you can find my review for the GT75VR 7RF Titan Pro http://forum-de.msi.com/index.php/topic,113078.0.html
have a look to the picture 6 and 7.
Picture 6 is the front view and the GT73 is on the right side on picture 7 it is the GT73 an the left side and you have the back view.
And the GT73 is 49mm thick. so 9mm difference.

And if you go to the end of the review you can find some arguements of my wife why i don't have kept the GT75 Review sample at home :biglaugh:

Wait, what happened to your re-pasted model of your GT75VR?
You had to return it? Why?
That looked like a really nice unit!

I would love to have that keyboard. Seriously... :(

it can be possible that you have one ram module with the Part Number MSI24D4S7D8MH-16 then yes the ram from your link will fit.
but to be sure you should use cpu-z as zipperi wrote to verify this.
you are able to wrote in this forum so i think you are able to download cpu-z oder hwinfo as well.
And you can use them in dual channel it is not necessary to disassemble the complete lady you can use one of the two free slots for the ram.

and the Quality of the qhd for me is very nice.
and nope mr phoenix i sent it back because the Driver was not working with the Display only Intel mode was working or when i don't install the Driver.

Im having an issue with my right click on my Gt75vr Touchpad, its incredibley softer and loose, no pressure what so ever.

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1eq3ExAOQheNUszBHewLE3Bbl3Nz4wFxZ/view?usp=drivesdk

The video shows the exact issue, its supper annoying since i rest my thumb inbetween both buttons and i can feel the difference and it drives me crazy. I contacted HIDEvolution and they sent me an email after reviewing the video thats saying thats normal and its an MSI defect and replacing the mechanism wont help. Wanted to hear from what the other have to say about their Touchpad Buttons, Thank you!

That's a defect and is definitely not normal.

Pinging @Donald@HIDevolution please see if you can help him.

That issue is a broken microswitch. Basically either the plunger or the spring is out of place or broken (you can see this mechanism easily on the old "Cherry" switch and Omron switch arcade pushbutton and microswitch assemblies (since they're so easy to open up by hand). It basically prevents the "click" and resistance sound and the button winds up moving almost freely, even though electrical connection still occurs. The end user can't fix this; the top shell has to be replaced (probably easier to just replace the entire system, although I've seen the top shell available for over $150 dollars...ouch, since it's the keyboard, mouse and case power push buttons)

Legend says, "beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder", I wouldn't use that display even if you paid me money. Utter garbage IMHO. If you think it was good, then I don't know what to tell you. Maybe look at a really good screen then look at that QHD screen again and you'll see what pile of trash it is.

Quality or not, you returned it anyway, that's all that matters now
