i've tried a way to disable the drivers signature in windows 10 and i found it, but, sadly, it doesn't work !
I upgraded again the bios, installed the new drivers from laptopvideo2go (i hope the INF modded file is already in) disabled the signature and nothing, again the video card is not recognised by the OS

That's the old Hybrid Power, dead many years ago and replaced when Optimus was introduced . No problems for you.

Try a clean install of the driver, like remove it first completely before installing the latest version.

New problem too. I tried again, but now my second monitor won't work with it. It works on my Xbox one though so it isn't the monitor

What if you go back to the previous version? Perhaps it's a glitch with the new driver?

Ok well fan problem stopped after reboot, but the mini display port fails to recognize my Asus monitor anymore but it does through hdmi. But the problem is, I need it to recognize through mini display for my 144hz support

No, you have to do a clean installation of the driver.
Select custom installation in order to select a clean install.

Hello again guys, just wanted to post this and I hope it helps someone.

The new NVIDIA driver 361.43 works perfectly on Windows 8 OS.

Played for about 3 hours, fallout 4, the game fps has been much much stable but still there's the LOD problem, it's not nvidia fault, it's the game developers.

Also just for the sake of not falling in this trap, Geforce Experience software after scanning for optimal settings for games, the device may Blue Screen with KMODE exception.
Just once it did this, I've entered it again like 1000 times and never BSOD again lol nothing happened.
Maybe because I haven't restarted after the new driver installation.

Anyways work 100% no problems for me whatsoever. Goodluck!

It happened to me once, the dashboard suddenly stopped working.

The fix: Remove laptops battery for about 10 seconds, then reinsert it.
It if didn't work, try unplugging then replugging the power source while the pc is turned on, shut down then redo the removal battery process.

It worked for me, maybe for you it will also.
    Goodluck.

Need some help from you guys.
I've experiencing really high CPU temp. When everything is idle the temp is around 45c which I'm ok with but when I turn on the unreal engine my CPU temp shoots up to the 90c range.
It doesn't matter if Its been running for 20 minutes or 2 minutes the temp just shoots up to the 85 - 95 range.
I just opened up and cleaned the fans today hoping it would help but didn't see much if any improvement in the temp.
(btw I've had the laptop for a while)

    Help would be greatly appreciated.

update: when I change the power mode to power saver the temp goes down to 60c doing the exact same thing I was doing in the screenshot above.
What exactly does the power mode change from balanced power setting?

I guess, that one fan for gpu and cpu isn't good for extreme cpu like in 20D version. I like dual solution in Alienware M17x, M18x gpu+fan, cpu+fan.
You should try repast cpu+gpu with new thermal paste. Next solution (if you don't need much power cpu) with Throttlestop set lower multiplier for max loading.

It's time to repaste your CPU and GPU, also when you're using unreal engine just turn on max power for fans, I usually once I turn on my laptop I crack the fan to max turbo, the fan would outlast the laptop also I don't want to repaste each 4 to 6 month, my idle GPU without fan till now and I had like 1 year is 28 Celsius and CPU 27 Celsius .. if you dislike the noise.. then you have to suffer the repaste ..

The single fan solution is ultimately bad but it's efficiency is rather pretty good compared to other laptops like Alienware which you would pay double for same specs.

Thanks a lot. I repasted the CPU and GPU and so far I'm seeing a huge improvement. It's brought the temp down from 90C to 67C while I'm doing the exact same thing.
It's crazy how much it helped. :)

Thanks a lot IbrahimS and ex.treme you guys rock.

    That's GREAT!!!
I shouldn't take all the credit, the upper post also suggested that.

Your most welcome, also remember, turbo fan is good just put on some music and headphones while working, goodluck.

Hey guys, i am experiencing crash issues from 2-3 months ago (maybe it started earlier but i was not gaming much) on games such as Need For Speed rivals (with patch 1.4). The game stops and i have a window with a direct x error :

'DirectX function "GetDeviceRemovedReason" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG("The application's failed due to badly formed commands sent by the application. This is an design-time issue that should be investigated and fixed.'

I already tried many solutions from different forums without completely solving this problem (older versions of the driver, .net framwork, reducing graphics, keeping fan at max, reducing core and mem clocks, etc.). My main concern is that it would be a hardware problem. What makes me think that way is that even testing fresh installs of Windows 7, Windows 8, 8.1 or Windows 10 (actual OS) i still have this problem whereas i could spend hours on this game before without any issues (on windows 8 and 8.1).
What contradicts this conclusion however (hardware failure) is that many people on other forums have brand new GPU's and still experience the same problem.
Did anyone have the same problem or found a specific tweak to address it ?

The GPU temperature doesn't exceed 73 degrees with fan on maximum.

    Hi all,

Im a proud owner of one of these beasts particularily the MS - 1763 Whitebook. (Cyberpower Fangbook Evo III HX7-200)

I've enjoyed the very long read so far and it looks like im very lucky to have this machine and at the time i bought it too, the latest and final revision of the MS-1763 board namely the MS-1763 Rev. 0.C. Im running win 8.1 with all latest updates and the latest Bios and EC Firmware which also enables me to upgrade to the latest GTX 980m Graphics Card plug and play style. All the softwares and utilities work perfectly without bugs. Also my system is stock and not overclocked and i get P7300 score in 3Dmark11 for 720p benchmark (the 1080p is greyed out unless you buy the upgrade). Is this score fair for my setup which is 4810mq, GTX 870 6GB, 16GB 1600 ram and 120GB SSD for boot? I also get 50-60 frame rate on ALL ULTRA SETTINGS in BF4 with fan at 100% speed BUT NOT TURBO COOLER BOOST 2 ENABLED, just using Daves GT-2od Fan Control tool and setting it to 100% as Turbo Cooler Boost 2 spins the fan even faster than that (Daves Fan Control's max is 4200RPM while Turbo Cooler Boost 2 spins the fan at 5200RPM. BF4 reaches 80 celcius CPU and 78 Celsius GPU with Daves Fan control app set to 100% and i get even lower temps with Turbo Cooler Boost 2 switched ON like 70 Celsius CPU and 68 Celcius GPU. Im soo happy that i can also add the Super Raid 2 Adapter to use 3 x Msata's as you can already get 1TB Msata SSD Drives now. Its been two years and i havent had a single problem my machine with anything at all.

This is what i will do to this system if i upgrade anytime soon:

CPU Upgrade to : Intel® Core™ i7-4940MX Processor Extreme Edition
(8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz)

    3 x 1TB Samsung Evo Msata SSD's

    GPU Upgrade to : GTX 980M 8GB DDR5

Maybe the screen to an IPS Panel.

    Memory Upgrade to : 32GB (8GBx4) DDR3-2133 SODIMM Memory

By using Daves latest Fan Control app i have tweaked the system so in power saving mode just browsing the web with media player playing music at 80% volume my system only draws 15 - 25 watts of electricity in total LOL and when i want to game i just switch power profile which automatically overclocks the system. However its wierd though how power profile modes control even the framerates of games etc so if you enable power saving profile your games automatically become limited to 30 FPS and you need to switch to either Gaming Mode profile or High Performance profile for the system to allow 60 FPS framerate in games.

NOTE: heres the only bug i found which isnt a big deal at all since its easily resolved. The bug is becuase of software like Daves Fan Control (Latest version), what they do is even if you select them to use the Intel IGPU instead of the Nvidia DGPU in Nvidia Control Panel the settings will not stick and the system will keep alternating between the two graphics cards Intel IGPU/ Nvidia DGPU so long as the program is still open and running. At this time you will also keep hearing the fan spin slightly fast then slow then slightly fast again. This is becuase the minimum fan spin rate for the Nvidia DGPU is faster than the minimum fan spin rate for the Intel IGPU so as the system keeps switching between the cards so does the fan speed too. This bug causes the stock temperature of the cpu and Nvidia DGPU to rise quite a bit by about 5 Celcius on both. JUST SIMPLY CLOSE THE FAN CONTROL AFTER USING IT TO DISABLE THIS BUG. Also you should see N/A under Nvidia DGPU under monitor in Dragon Gaming Centre when this bug is disabled and when its not you will see it keep switching between N/A and (Temp Reading).

Ive realised these systems are really awesome becuase not only that they are powerful but the upgradeability and stability of these systems are just too cool saving tons of money in the process.

the new MSI systems (GT72 GT80) are totally bonkers except for the dual SLI Graphics in GT80 Titans in my opinion as the CPU is no longer upgradeable (but thats for all new systems from now on from Intel) also the Graphics card slot has changed to accommodate Desktop Class VGA Cards. The Msata technology has changed to M.2 Sata technology.

Final Say: These GT70s in my opinion allow for the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK compared to any other systems ive ever come across! LONGEVITY, PERFORMANCE, FEATURES and PRICE!

MSI YOUR AWESOME! YOU MAKE ME FEEL REALLY INTELLIGENT AND VALUABLE CHOOSING YOU! HEHEHE HAPPY DAYS!

The onboard VBIOS probably isn't supported by Nvidia driver, have you flashed it to compatible BIOS such as MSI or Clevo?

I can send you MSI VBIOS if you can send me an email first.
To flash it, you will need an USB flash drive that can boot to DOS, then you will only need to run FVBIOS.BAT to proceed.

is there anyway i could reset the bios to remove the password. i will post the pics of what it looks like. maybe if i can reset the bios i can continue the update process. 2cents

I think my panel has died. The part where you can click on for the fan,the keyboard light, every thing on that panel will not light up when pressed. Its making my bad day already worse. Only way i can get my fan to turbo is with the fan app.

That's a bit on the high side, but manageable. A repaste with a high grade TIM might help bring the temps down a bit.

You can also upgrade the thermal cooling pads to 0.5mm ones which will help to transfer the heat on its components.

Yes, you could buy Alienware AC brick of 240W (PA9E but NOT Flextronics) and either buy adapter or resolder wires. Nobody tried adapter before though.

I'm probably very late to the party on this, but just in case anyone uses the BurnRecovery software to restore to factory default...

I did this today. Made sure all my stuff was backed up to my data drive (D :). Ran the recovery. And unfortunately discovered that not only does the software wipe the system drive, but it also WIPES THE DATA DRIVE!!

This is the first time I've ever used a recovery program that wipes ALL drives and not just the system drive. Whoever designed it to work this way needs to be ****ing shot.

When you ran the recovery software, were you given two options? Or one?
I believe some of the older burnrecovery software was pretty inconsiderate and the issue was addressed at later on.

Only had one option. And it didn't even say it would format ALL drives, just that it would format THE drive. I now have to rely on a backup from 12 months ago. Which is a backup of my Data Drive backup. I work in IT and broke the cardinal rule when it comes to backing up data: never assume anything.

Sigh. Anyway, back to the grind.

That sucks, I understand that in IT industry, always do the best practice.
Sorry to hear that you had lost all of your data. Have you tried using recovery software and see if you can recover anything?

I tried, but most of what was recovered I already had in my other backup. Newer versions of documents and some photos were the main things. But it's all good.

What a bummer. Good that you had a backup at least, however dated. I imagine most of us have been there. :vbwink: Good luck with getting everything back up to speed.

That's great, so it wasn't a total loss and you were able to get most of them back.
Imagine if this happened on an encrypted volume.

Thanks guys. Question: What overclock settings do you guys use in Afterburner. I originally had mine set at +135 core and +502 for memory. These settings were fine, but now that I've re-imaged my machine, 3DMark11 can't seem to run a full pass at these settings. It keeps crashing.

It's hard to say, and it could be caused by other factors in the system, such as OS, or thermal. Try using lesser aggressive values and see what happens.

I'd say you are nearing your luck with such memory clocks. I would definitely get those down at least to 400. You won't get much difference in performance from 400 to 500 anyways.

Did you flash any different vbios?
