The link leads to a page that shows comments are closed. But the killer driver is removed, still no success

    Sorry, they removed it.
I guess just remove the driver package completely then.

What if you put the original Killer WLAN card back?
Also, when you remove the driver, did you remove it and perform a reboot?

yes, and I might have found a solution. checking the status of the connection, then going to properties, then checking and unchecking one by one clicking ok after each check, internet came back and reset

Gonna do some tests because it is slow right now

I see, I was also thinking whether you had firewall software or not because those could affect them too.
    So you are good now?

I should be, I'm googling the name and alot of results involve the subject of malware-gen or virus, this might be a hidden virus.

Hello ! i have an problem with my msigt70 2od that technical service is unable to figure out and fix , so i hope you may have some ideas
So my problem is about sound , stereo and headset including mic.

This problem is first accured while i was listening music , since its about sound i will try to describe it as much as possible , during random times of sound coming from stereo , bass starts to get weird and sounds gets lower until there is no sound at all and after couple of seconds it comes back , same rotation starts to happen all the time , if i plug in my head set at that very moment i start to hear a static bzzzz sound from stereo as well as headset and my mic doesnt catch my sound

I send my computer to service with this problem and they have changed stereo and jag points with new ones , after that while i was gaming same thing start to happen again but this time i noticed it was happening while i was gaming , this only occurs if the notebook temparature is high during gaming , if i turn on my turbo booster none of these problems happening but it kills my fan life

so any suggestions why this is happening ? or how can i fix this , i thought this computer keeps it fan speed at necessary level and it clearly isnt.

Try reinstalling Soundblaster and realtek, might be a missing or corrupted file issue that's what I can think of, or it might be some kind of hardware issue

Has anyone here upgraded their MSI GT70 2 with the GTX 980M GPU chip yet?

    Is it doable?

What generation of machine are you running specifically (the thread title one?) I do believe it has been tested to work with most if not all of them however.

    Yes, the MSI GT70 2OD.

I have since discovered that the GTX 980M can be made to fit into the GT70s and have checked out your website for the GPU in question, which you have in stock.

I live in the UK, you have options to send to the UK, but when I look at your payment options:

Paypal - Confirmed US Addresses Only.
Credit Card - Not acceptable for International Orders

    which leaves 'Cash'.

In short, am I able to purchase this item from your company and have it posted to the UK?

Download and run WinDirStat. It's a program that will show you where your space is, down to the last kb.

    Hello,

I'v updated my laptop to windows 8.1 and now the GPU/Power button is always red (only time it is white is on startup during MSI logo, but turns red before it finishes). After that it turns red, even before I login.

I have updated BIOS to newest version. Same with EC.
As far as I can see non of the programs are using Nvidia GPU

    any ideas?
    thanks

    Could you provide more info.
Where did you find info that it can fit?
Does it require any modifications, if so is there a guide?
    thanks

Go to the 980m/970m upgrade thread here on these forums. You'll find all the info you seek there ;)

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/the-official-msi-gt60-70-970m-980m-upgrade-thread.765058/

Regarding your previous issue, next time it happens, have a look at Nvidia's control panel in the list of software to run on the dedicated GPU. There you'll find all the software that have run at least once on the Nvidia card :)

ok well my pagefile.sys is huge, and I have 16gb of ram already for adobe premiere and other stuff, do I need to have this take up so much space?

the other is hiberfil.sys, but I use hibernation whenever I close my lid(I don't like using sleep when I can just save more power on the go)

You can adjust the page file down to a smaller size if you like, try setting it to 2GB, if you have issues you can raise it again.

If your explorer started hanging after changing the size of your pagefile, I would recommend changing your pagefile back to default, or play around with the size and setting for your pagefile until explorer stops hanging.

If the issue is independent of the change in the pagefile, then it could be a number of issues that could be affecting your explorer... i.e. malware, resource conflicts, background processes, antivirus software, corrupt system files, dying hard drive, damaged hardware, etc... You'll need to track down the culprit yourself to determine how to fix the issue. Although it tends to seem like a drastic measure, reinstalling Windows can be one of the easiest ways to fix a Windows system process such as explorer.

    Good luck!

You will need to backup your files... Either on an external hard drive or on your secondary hard drive (I would recommend external myself, but I know not everyone has an external hard drive available). The registry will be rebuilt when Windows is reinstalled/restored.

Hi guys. About to pull the trigger for this MSI. One question : how high can you oc the 780m without having problem with throttle/NOS stupid feature/temps ? ( i guess there is no way to shutdown or overpass NOS so i can plug a 240w PSU ? )
    Ty in advance.

Depends on your chip and CPU settings, with the stock voltage you will most likely be ok in most games.

I still have the choice between an asus G751 with 970m and this GT70. My choice of heart is MSI ( sound, easy acces to components, upgrade, look ), but if no OC is possible or really limited, won't take it. Moreover coming from a 7970m OC, i need at least a good step. Already know 970m is way more powerfull, but 780m oc will be good enough.
+150/200mhz on GPU is possible ?

I've gotten similar overclocks in Afterburner. Better overclocks may be possible, but I haven't really needed to push my system that far.

After many tests and using kombuster, that was the best I could get without seeing a couple flickering dots, better ones are possible, but I've seen certain games like metro last light crash from higher ratings, my first time I was able to max it out, no problems at all
