    Hi,

Yes this is the only game.
It is currently in early access so it is expected, but im getting much more crashes than other players.
This game is unplayable for me while others play it fine.

Im considering formatting my entire machine - thats the only thing i havent tried yet.

This is a bit drastic, try to find out the error code. Maybe there is
    some hidden hint.

No way, in germany they do not send parts out. But i cannot
send it because i need it for use.

Windows event viewer says that the GPU stopped responding and then started responding again.
    This is causing the crashes.

it looks like this: Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

Use display driver removal tool and reinstall yo display drivers.
Update directX, search teh web for all c++redists.
It may also be that another version of the NVidia drivers will work better.

I should get it on Tuesday. I'll definitely post my experience with it, but please god, I hope none of these problems will affect me.
Anyway, is it possible to replace the HDD without voiding the warranty?

EDIT: I'm in Europa, Austria to be precise.

Neither in europe, you may change the RAM, thermal grease and HDD / SSD how it pleases you. Just dont damage anything.

Theres two things to make it a badass device, change the original
thermal paste with a better one or even liquid metal. Also the fans
may have a high pitch noise or even smaller rattling. You may RMA
since we have users here doing this several times.

Me for my part will change the fans with 80x80x20 12v 4pin Desktop
fans and mod them by myself. Since i have LM already in it i will
try this solution. Wish me luck.

Are going to disassemble the original fans and place the desktop fan bearing and fan in the same chassis?
Which desk fans do you plan to use?
Try to capture video or pic on this exercise.dont break anything and good luck.

guys i have seen eurocom offers gtx 10 series over mxm , that suppots MSI MS16L1
    1080 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSI-MS16L1-...233515?hash=item1c8576b4ab:g:HZUAAOSwK6RZGfg9

    1070 : http://www.ebay.com/itm/NVIDIA-GTX-...267554?hash=item1a1c51b922:g:UUsAAOSw7GRZMDjO

is there any one who upgraded from gtx1060 ?
i have msi gt62vr 6rd with MSI MS16L2 not 1 ! is those mxm models still compatible with my model ?
i have noticed that gtx 1080 needs more power than gt62vr offers ! do i need to change just the AC Adapter that has the required WATT power ?

All I can tell you is the GT73VR needs this GTX 1080 (look at where the BGA GPU is, very close to the slot connector):
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/threads/mxm-gpu-resellers-in-the-world.804197/page-7

On the Ebay ones, it's much farther away.
7RE/6RE Gt73's can upgrade from 1070 to 1080 but you need the 330W PSU (Easy to get) and 1080 heatsink.

I also don't think you can upgrade from 980 to 1080. The form factor is completely different. That's why there was a MSI trade-in program.
You can mod 980 to 1060 (and possibly 1070) with modded heatsink: http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...-1060-cannot-be-done-said-msi-edition.805241/

Dont worry, ive been modding for a while now. I will take theese,
    AK-FN076 Slimline
as they are one of the rare ones that have 12v 4Pin and 80x80x10
and go up to 3000rpm. @27db. But i will have to "break" them in order
to manipulate the airflow and make my own shrug, so i can add more
preassure towards outside. I wouldnt recommend that without Liquid Metal.

Hmmm, the flap density is not even close to the originals also their height seem to be lower...hopefully it will be ok.
Please, make table with idle/stress cpu.gpu temps originals vs. Customs.
Subjective audibility would be excellent record either whilst the exact dB values from noise meter will be stellar good input.but i presume that noise level meter is not like a vac cleaner = non standard equipment of classic household.
At least try some proven cellular phone sound level meter app.

I doubt it will work - fans in the notebook are supposed to move the air horizontally (in the one line with the fan), and those from the desktop move the air at an angle of 90 degrees to the fan line. It's not only a matter of the chassis, but also of the shape of blades.

No way jelenn, i accidentaly thought i ordered a car when
i saw GT62VR but suddenly got a Notebook. How stupid of me :)

I tell you it will work, the question is only HOW exactly.
Its definitely worth trying.until they restock their original fans.

Get cooled better or die tryin'
I like your enthusiasm.good luck and don't fry the cpu.gpu.
Break the stress instantly when the cooling efficiency is poor.but you seem to be skilled techy so it is apparently futile to warn u on this.

    Thanks.

If it works out it will be the most silent GT series Laptop ^^

I do not have all tools to measure everthing exactly. But i can
tell you if it work out and what you can expect few degrees °C more or less..

But i can tell you that the stock GT62VR reaches almost 50db plus a little rattling
and high pitch sound. I mean not the airflow, i mean the greedy sound of MSI
tryin to avoid more cost using cheap materials.

Problem is they used 12v Fans what is rare.
If they would have used 5v Fans it would be a piece
of cake to get any from dell/alienware/asus or HP.

Still the 4pins are a a bit of a challange but still doable.
The Akasa takes only 0.2 ampere at max 2.3W what is nothing
For the GT62 so i do not have to be afraid to burn the board or
none component stays without juice as long as 12V fans used.

Does anyone know why MSI TrueColor 2.0 isn't supported by 6th generation CPU anymore? Till the previous update which was 2.0.0.028 they were supporting it, but now from the 2.0.0.032 version 7th generation CPUs are the only supported. What the **** is this?

edit: tried installing it and it works as i expected but i still don't get why they won't release it on previous generation, it took them less than a year to leave the support, bwoah.

this is not surprising at all. Just check the MSI GT62 page for the latest drivers and the latest date of update for them. Except the Audio drivers , the remaining ones are from 2015/2016.
BTW, why this color calibration is so critical for you? i do use Gamer all the time and if I would be using the pure non MSI branded Windows, i would be on the default calibration either.

Because there is a huge change from the Truecolor 1 to 2, speaking of Gamma and Colors changes, i like it and at same time i woud like to keep it updated if they ever fix something (especially if W10 updates break something) or improve the app. That's just it really. On MSI support the 6th generation model is mentioned in the tags of the supported devices so i guess i won't have any trouble for now..

    Hello,

    Sorry for my bad English.

I have a problem with my laptop. The screen is 60Hz but G-Sync does not work correctly (tearing) even though it limits the framerate to 59fps. For the G-Sync to work perfectly I should limit the framerate to 55fps.

I have found that if i do not have it plugged into the power and i use the battery, the G-Sync works well even at 59fps.

    How can I solve that?.

    Thank you

encheels : With 55fps limit the G-Sync works OK for me and there is no tearing. But if I limit the framerate to 56, 57, 58, 59 or 60fps tearing appears with the G-Sync enabled.

Can you check on your GT62VR 7RE if you pass the test of the Pendulum Nvidia Demo if appear tearing with 60fps in G-Sync mode, please ?.

    Thanks! ^^

    Hi

I was wondering if I should update my BIOS.
I have GT62 6RE. I couldnt find the BIOS update notes and I dont really like doing irreversible actions.
Should I do it? Anyone can find the update notes?

Getting crashes on one game only (PlayerUnknown).
    Laptop freezing and restarting itself.
Event Viewer failed to create a dump. only error I saw were these:

    1. Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0
    2. The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Happening only in one game, Google could not solve this issue, tried all drivers / clean format & install.
I suspect this is something related to hardware, maybe not enough power to GPU/CPU/something else?

Only thing that was not fully updated yet was my BIOS

I wont place LiqM on BGA.also u can afford it if you have good heatsink/ihs contact.i got the uneven one.i applied Gelid GC3 and it's perfect.fans are at low rpms even on the loads.no throttles
.PL1 and 2 reduced to 100W plus -.150 underV and it is cooool even on max details with gsync.

I don't have any throttle, my CPU temperature is 68-70º on test.

My Nvidia driver's is version 382.53.

In your test, have you disabled vsync of the Nvidia control panel?

The test I'm doing is with v-sync disabled in the Nvidia control panel, and I select 60fps and G-Sync option, and I see tearing :(

I have tested with the fps manually at 59 fps and perfect, but playing games I have to limit to 55 fps to avoid tearing.

    How to solve it?

Thanks for all and sorry by my bad english :p

Forget thermal paste, LiqM does indeed around 20°C.
Need a little skill but definitely worth the effort.

This was beta / alpha version right?
Did you manage to get the error code?

    Yes, Early access. (Beta?)
Unfortunately, when checking event viewer, only things I can see are those:

    1. Audit events have been dropped by the transport. 0
    2. Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.

Already googled them up, no solution found yet.

I got my unit today and played around with Dark Souls 3 and FF14. Hitting 70° on both GPU and CPU and no crashes so far, but I'd like to tweak it where I can. So where should I start? Undervolting the CPU?

    Search this thread for 'undervolt'.
This may bring some light to darkness of yours.
Or you can download some profile from hwbot xtu and try.
    Some starting points:
Core and cache UV start with -0.100,test,then increase the value by -0.010 to -0.110,-0.120..etc till you get BSOB or other stability issue.then return little back with undervolt value.
Core multiplier, if you need higher frequency on multicore ops, then level all 4 multipliers at the same level .e.g. 36.cache multi can be also at core multi -4 = 32.
Turbo boost power max and also short power max have got reduced from default 200 to 100.it does not generate such heat= low fan rpms.
Processor core iccmax set to 75A. 8 seconds

I am on this since novemver 2016 and all good. If you are running out of juice on load - current limit throttling etc. Increase iccmax.

    Hey guys,

I am ordering the GT62VR with the GTX 1060 (6gb). One question I have is, I plan on doing a clean windows install right after getting the laptop. Do I really need to install dragon center or the game center that MSI laptops come with?

I'm not a geek but probably can be of help :p
Looking at the Aavid fan catalog I can see that they use yellow for checking if the fan is rotating and measuring the fan RPM, blue for PWM speed control, red + black are the classic 12v. If all your fans are from them then the colour code wiring should be the same.
Try it out hahahah :p (just kidding)

No u don't.that's for absolute standard users only.
Also it causes some CPU util problem if it's not set properly.

Using the regular windows power profiles, is there a reason to set the profile to High Performance? Wouldn't the Balance profile have the same effect on high load games?

Not really, with current games you may not notice it yet but there is some difference. Balanced profile has lower clocks when GPU is on full load while high perfomance profile gives it an extra boost of 100-150Mhz (at least for me), it also keeps the CPU frequency at maximum possible all the time.
