Can you try removing Nahimic using GeekUninstaller to get rid of the remnants after it's uninstalled? Also when you are uninstalling Nahimic, there is a checkbox which says "Delete Preferences" Make sure you check that -
Anyone with Bluetooth issues lately? My GS73VR is not connecting any device anymore. It "sees" all bluetooth devices with correct names (old and new) but pairing results in an error. " Please reconnect your device" in the interface.
System logs show a BTHUSB event 29. " A time out occured at the securitymanagementprotocol while waiting for a response from an external device" (Translated from my Dutch Windows)
I'm running:
- Windows 10 Home X64 (Clean install without MSI bloatware)
- Version 1709 Build 16299.125
Bluetooth adapter:
- Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1 (Branded as " Killer Bluetooth".. or " Killed Bluetooth" now..)
I tried :
- Installing the newest drivers from the MSI site
- Trying several other drivers from other manufacturers (Dell/Hp)
- Installing driver booster
- Safe mode (Bluetooth not available)
- Setting the Bluetooth services to autotostart to make sure they are all running.
- Disable powersave from the bluetooth adapter
- Removing all inactive hardware devices
- Removing all Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator devices.
Still no luck.. all devices are working on my Surface pro (Win10 x64) and my girlfriends laptop (same model as i have, but without the latest windows updates)
Reinstalling would be a pain in the butt as it's my work laptop with a lot of software and certificates installed.. -

When comparing to my girlfriends notebook i found-out the Bluetooth LE Service (highlighted) was missing from my device manager.
Completely removing and reinstalling the Bluetooth device just reinstalled the Qualcomm Atheros device but it did not add the Bluetooth LE service. Reinstalling the computer added the service and everything works fine now.
It would be great to know how to manually add the service to device manager.hmscott likes this. -
HI GUYS!
I recently bought the GS73 7RF STEALTH PRO. I like it overall but some things dunt appeal to me. U know the six lil button like things on the bottom of the laptop tht makes the laptop stay high for vent intake and stuff? The 2nd one from the left side doesnt touch the surface on a flat plane(i tested on different planes like tables, etc). And there are micro stutters if i rightclick on desktop (lagging b4 dropdown menu appears). P.s. will update the drivers and let u guys knoe if it does me any better. ^_^
Also, the retail shop advertised to as having 7200rpm hdd but i check using hwinfo and it came with only 5400rpm. I replaced the base ssd with a samsung nvme m.2 ssd(960 evo)500gb because the base ssd was as slow as a turtle(maybe worse). Also my spacebar button feels mushier than any of the other keys.
I love the laptop itself tho. Looks minimal design(my fav type <3) and it kinda runs a bit hot (havent undervolt yet, btw is it safe to undervolt my laptop? Will it void the warranty?)and i can kind of hear like Vrrrrrrrrr(coil whine maybe)when i use cooler boost fan mode when i play games.
The 120hz panel is grt (wud have loved to get gsync feature on it :/)and the speakers sound loud and grt.
Apart from em, i love it
Sorry if i kinda sound like some of
those negative viewish reviewers on youtube but i really wnna know if its only specifically occuring to my certain unit or anyone else has the same problems.
One more thing tht i wnna ask is tht are all the gs73 7rf units slightly alligned unevenly? When i close the top lid it kinda portrudes from the right side and it goes in a lil bit from the left side. It feels kinda weird tho. -

So, after trial and error I underdvolted my CPU for -120, anything more just causes it to crash during overwatch match. Still, temperartures aren't great. With default voltage highest temps were 97C, now it's 92-94C (assuming sport shift and cooler boost are on). Still not satisfactory. Why the hell is that happening?
Also it doesn't happen in any other game, generally I have 85-88C on CPU everywhere except for OW. I play on epic settings with framerate locked to display refresh rate. I wonder why undervolting only helped to decrease temps by 3-4C while everyone reports roughly 10?
What can be done to improve sitiuation or should I just not care about the temps? -

There should be someone local to you that's willing to do the repaste. A little warning though, this one isn't as easy as your average laptop. The motherboard is inverted and will pretty much require a complete disassembly.
I hope for your sake that there isn't something worse wrong. There's a reason that unit is a refurbished one.

Anyway, I'll try to contact local MSI service. Any advice on thermal paste? Which one is better? -

BTW there is a lot of complaining about bloatware and Dragon Center out there (I didn't reinstall win10), does it really affect performance/temps? I like Dragon Center so I wouldn't get rid of it unless it really helps out. -

If you're at stock clock speeds, good start would be a -100mV undervolt. Even if you overclock 4.2 GHz on all cores a -100mV undervolt should work.
Also, put your signature with your laptop models/specs otherwise we have no idea what you own and what specs to help you.
Feel free to copy/paste my signature and edit them to match your system configurationKevin@GenTechPC and hmscott like this. -

Hi guys ! Thx for the replies. I undervolted my laptop to -0.110V. I don't really notice any differences though. I played pubg with the newly undervolted mode and i got my cpu temps running up to 89°C. I have two aircons opened at maximum(lowest temp) coolness. And my touchpad seems to be glitchy when i watch videos using VLC. when i touch the pad it kinda glitches n micro-stutterings happen. And i get a time-lag input. for eg. when i rightclick on desktop, it takes a few secs before the dropdown box appears. Is it an issue with the laptop's hardwares or the software?
My os is Windows 10 Pro(Licensed),Vers:1709, OS Build:16299.248.
And my msi gs73vr 7rf does not have nahimic on it! And when i choose gaming mode in dragon center, the screen dims itself while playing. i heard theres a way to fix it , if u do know how to plz help.
here are a few observations i have done:
CPU TEMPS WITH WIFI ON: 61~63°C
Shift:Comfort
Msi rgb: Office
Dpi:100%
LED,X boost,VR ready off
CPU TEMPS WITH WIFI OFF:50~58°C
same modes
CPU TEMPS WHEN GAMING:
SHIFT:SPORT
FAN SPEED:COOLER BOOST
MSI RGB:STANDARD
DPI:100%
PROGRAMS RUNNING DURING GAME TIME: STEAM,KILLER CONTROL CENTER,NVIDIA GEFORCE EXP, IRST, IGS, ELAN POINTING DEVICE, DRAGON CENTER 1.2.1610.2701
If any of u guys have any suggestions to fix my laptop's current state pls let me know. tq guys. love the community but sad tht i have to fix so many things just to have a proper experience with my gaming laptop T.T -

2) I never install Dragon Center, it keeps messing with my CPU VR Current Limit setting it to 75A which causes throttling, 100A prevents throttling at 4.2 GHz and 200A prevents throttling up to 4.5 GHz.
You don't have a signature so how can we really help you since you don't list your laptop specs and CPU?
3) The mouse stuttering is caused due to the fact that MSI has the Intel Software Guards Extension enabled by default, that is a useless security feature only meant for app developers, unfortunately, if you don't have the unlocked BIOS you can't disable it so contact MSI and tell them to set it to default in their next BIOS because it causes issues and has 0 benefits
4) Try decreasing your undervolt a bit, let's say to -70mV and see if it fixes your problemhmscott likes this. -

the problem is whether they will fix it for me or try some cheap **** with me T.T the ppl in my country (especially ppl involved in sales and services) are sly, cheaters and liars. they'll probably say tht its my fault and stuff(if they do, i will murder them...srsly) n other bs. btw my issue is like this guy's( search for MSI "GS73VR screen issue_2k" in youtube). it hasnt reach tht state yet but its alrdy happening. I am kinda sad to realize tht my first gaming laptop (i used macbooks b4) is giving up on me after only 2 months of usage(bought on jan 6th 2018). i dunno whether to get angry at the handlers in my country or at someone else. Im usually very calm and patient but this is a pain to deal with. i hope this will get resolved quickly . i will go to msi's service center in my country n ask them to repair it for me. will update on how it went. ( mite take 1 more day cause they close on sundays). thx guys ,lovely community but im kinda sad in the handlers in my country. i cant get mad at msi for this cause this isnt directly affiliated with msi. thx again guys
-
btw mr.phoenix i installed nahimic 2 in my laptop love it, works well. had errors on first installation like headphone not recognized and stuff but its all okay now. i also uninstalled the ELAN driver for touchpad so it doesnt stutter as much as before. But it keeps reinstalling itself..
=_= is there a way to prevent tht from happening? -
Hi guys. quick update. so i check the official msi forums and a lot of ppl have this display lid hinge problem like me. it appears tht msi cut corners on the hinges and theyre not properly reinforced at all. the hinges are too tight so it cracked n broke apart(mine hasnt broken apart yet). i will ask msi service if the hinge will break even after fixing in the near future. if yes, i will ask them for a refund and ask them to replace the model with some other model like the ge63vr apache pro and stuff. only bought the gs73vr cuz of its thin form factor . if the build quality is crap mite as well get it refunded. only prob is whether they'll pull some crazy crap and not refund me bck at all. love the laptop design, hope they had a better manufacturer. cutting the corner on the hinges is too much of an insult to the customers. i can live with some flex on the laptop(keyboard area and bottom panel) but making those hinges crappy is just unforgivable. thanks msi, u just ruined the grt impression i had on u over some stupid hinges. Great price compared to other laptops with same specs(also bought asus rog strix gl703 but it has fan noise so ive been sticking with the stealth pro)but doing this kind of thing is just completely ridiculous in my opinion. I watched the video from KitGuru in youtube where he shows how msi laptops are made in the factory. I was happy tht they worked hard for the customers but srsly KG, at least mention the fact tht these issues occur. another problem is tht youtubers tht review gaming laptops get sent BEST QUALITY laptops from companies. Average users like us get the wrong idea and think theyre so good and buy them. the companies on the other hand just completely mess us up. To be honest i was a lenovo and apple fan before, apple's service was perfect and so was lenovo but msi is just....terrible. They claim to be official msi (in my country) but their service is crappier than the rest of gaming laptop companies. I hope tht the gaming companies would stop lying to their consumers who actually buy their products and suffer the consequences. *hdd advertised as 7200rpm, got 5400rpm instead* and they just shook it off saying its ad mistake. at this point im just raging but think about it from the perspective us, of the ppl who actually get the crappier end of the stick. Who would want to spend over $1900 and get a crappy laptop right? Its like give me your money and ill give you faulty crap. I mean Apple is expensive as crap but i have never encountered a build quality problem.
Even lenovo has better build quality. My S410p has better build quality than my current gs73vr n its yrs old!
I know im just raging and trying to blame ppl and stuff but this is just too much for me to handle.
