Hey there! This is what I did. Connect a USB mouse. Then you go ahead and reinstall the latest drivers. restart the system (making sure that you unplugged the USB mouse) and start using your trackpad once the system boots up. make sure you go to the properties and adjust the settings to your liking.

    Have a great weekend!

Noticed this also. It serves no purpose and is in my opinion a mistake.

For any developer of this application - I believe it is based on .NET, and so here is a piece of code that should fix this:

    Code:
    this.FormBorderStyle = System.Windows.Forms.FormBorderStyle.SizableToolWindow;
    this.ShowInTaskbar = false;

This could also be done in design mode, but you should already know that. ;)

windows 8 platform (from start) is mainly build for Tablets, smart phones and touch screens PC.......
(and such a fine non-touch-laptop as GS70 get worse with that crap)

a hint.........why do you think DELL/Alienware, Sager/Clevo, HP still shipping many of their high-end laptops with Windows 7 ??

It sounds like it's running under a lite load. You will hear it in a quiet room.

I'm also having space bar issue. If I press the space bar in the center or on the left side it works 100% of the time.If I press the space bar on the right side I need to press it harder or I'll get "HelloWorld".

Hi, I'm back with another question (maybe stupid, maybe not), I got (as I already said) a LMT256-m3m SSD for my GS70. Now I'm searching for a second unit, and I got my eyes on a LMT256-m6m... Can I pair it with the first one? What are the specs? I could not find any on the m6m. Both are mSATA Liteon.

It looks like a hardware flaw, I'm experiencing the same. Just get accomodated to it IMO, it won't be repaired because it is not a "break" I think

Has anyone had any issues after installing 8.1? The track pad failed but I was able to fix that. My main problem is sometimes, seemingly random, the machine fails to boot. It will reach the MSI bios logo and power off a few seconds after. Other times it will show the loading icon below the MSI logo and power off, other times it will load successfully. It's woefully inconsistent.

I have been running 8.1 since 10/17. I wanted the boot to desktop function. Hate win8 start menu.
Only issue that still exists is the killer bluetooth drivers are quirky but were present under 8.0. Killer gaming support confirms the issues and says a new driver is coming soon.

I am running the latest software from msi link I provided earlier plus the latest drivers from Nvidia via the geforce experience app. There are updates to certain drivers on the website. Download them all before updating so you have them.

Don't know if it matters, but I am not running Norton software. I don't like their software and removed all of it as soon as I got the laptop.

Wow, the killer has been fantastic for me in my home
(I have a nice router e4200 lynksys) and have been amazed at throughput.

Only issue is occasional bluetooth dropping after sleep.

    Which firmware you using?

Killer throughput has been awesome. Love the networking especially with my asus RT-N66. I get 240mbs wireless testing to my home server. Its the bluetooth drivers that are a problem. Don't reload after sleep/hibernate. I am running the latest drivers from killer. What firmware are you referring to?

When starting games in 8.1 the laptop was not auto switching from intel to nvidia, I had to set it in the nvidia drivers to force use the nvidia card. which it looks like it's using the nvidia card all the time

keyboard kinda feels a little sluggish in 8.1 for some reason. It might just be me thou.

No..My understanding is the Intel BGA processors like this one are soldered onto the motherboard to save height.

No you cannot, because it's 4700HQ which is BGA type (Ball Grid Array) soldered onto the motherboard.

I upgraded to 8.1 last night and after using the laptop today performance has dropped dramatically....boot times, load times, general use etc etc. Also hybrid power will not work. I assume updating the bios and firmware will resolve this but let me know if i'm wrong. Also just to clarify I have the raid version so do I want to be downloading the 70C Bios for Win 8.1. Cheers!

Hello guys im a new owner of the GS70 and have been using it for about a week. I found out that it wont charge over 95% when the AC adapter is plugged on but after a few updates on microsoft it now charges to 100% which worries me. Is there a way to set it back so that it wont charge over 95%? Since I plug the AC adapter all the time when playing games.

    There's a new BIOS update for 8.1, E1771IMS.70C.
    w8_E1771IMS.70C.zip

You may also need to update drivers and utilities for 8.1 but MSI has only released the drivers but not much under utilities for 8.1.

Hi Bezum01, im looking at doing your spacebar fix too. My question is you seem to have a lot of paper in the middle to increase the height. Was this trial and error? I dont want to make it too high, and if possible, I want to get it right the first time, as i dont want to keep taking the spacebar key off and on.
Im thinking of using a circular piece of plastic cut from an old credit card and glued to the middle.
The key is off the keyboard and awaiting my next step :)

MSI probably forgot to include it, so I've created the GS70 EC update for Windows based on the GT70 EC autoflash package.
Run winflash then it should perform the update automatically.

The checksum says 505 instead of 507

Looks like MSI fixed the file on their site to include the winflash. MSI Global GS70 STEALTH 64

Hello. I have been following thread for some time, and took the plunge and just received my GS70 from GentechPC. I am experiencing a weird and extremely frustrating typing prof blem and wondered if any of you had experienced the same issue. After typing a few characters, the cursor jumps to a previous part of the typed sentence. This has hap. pen about thirty times while typing this post. I will call Gentech Monday about this issue. It renders this laptop virtually worthess for typing. Tkshan fhpelor any.(This is an example of what happened when I tried to type "thank you" without corrections.

Can you try Fn + F3 and use an external mouse to verify if the symptom exists still?
Can you also remove the shipping touchpad driver and then update it with the latest one from MSI?

There is also a setting under the newest driver that may help. It turns off the track pad while typing and turns it back on after the delay setting. The default is 450ms I think
