3dMark 2011 would crash every single time (even when CPU+GPU are set to default). TimeSpy crashed a couple of times with that settings and i gave up. I don't have time right now...
    Sometime next week...

    @deathwingbg, @button22, @Mattsin and @Rocktaze

I love the competitive nature and most importantly, sportsmanship between you guys!!! Every time you guys post a score, you guys are showing why LGA destroys BGA.

( just trying to get the most out of my moment of glory before someone who actually knows what they're doing wipes the floor with me :) )

Also put CLU on my GPU last night. 53 degrees with max fans and bottom cover on with no other cooler. Very pleased with this and will try bottom cover off some day. Also 7700k de-lidded maxed at 76 degrees at 4.9 with no overvolt.

Have you update your GPU Vbios cause that overclocking speed is not right.
Everyone i know now can go 265/500 with the new Vbios , you'd definitely flirt with the 19,500 score.

    7700k @ 4.9 = 15,600 only?

Yeah I flashed the new VBIOS a while ago actually. Because yeah my overclocking room on the 1070 has been rather low. Which has me trying to make up for it on the physics end, hence the 4.9. Perhaps I'll try a reflash and see if that amounts to anything. What are you guys overclocking with?

Anything over 265 on coreclock is an instant crash.
i haven't seen anyone go over 265 on core so far i think it's pretty much the maximum

Humm, yeah ill defiantly reflash and see what's up when I get the chance. Defiantly would like to get some higher clocks. I'm also doing the +100 on core voltage as well.

    Nice!

Interesting that my graphics score is higher than yours even though you're clocking higher than me on the 1070 ( here's my high score for comparison - http://www.3dmark.com/fs/11796997 ). If you clock it lower how does the score change? ( mine won't go higher than 240/300 but I'm not convinced it's disadvantaging my scores). But yeah a definite advantage for the 7700 over the 6700 :)

GPU Boost 3.0 as compared to 2.0 is a bit more sensitive as well as controlling you dont even have to change anything and it will boost well over the stock boost clocks. The added frequency will push it a little more up to crash, but if given the chance GPU Boost will auto oc as well as throttle based on temps and power. The 1070 is a powerful card and there is still a lot to squeeze out of them, unfortunately we will always hit that power limit given by the nature of laptop limitations.

Haha yeah I noticed that myself actually. I'll try some lower clocks in the next day or so and get back to you. I have to find the perfect balance of CPU and GPU overclock for my scores to increase, seems like when I push one to far things seem stable visually, but scores are lower

Respect for the high scores ... but i am coming for you!!! Wish i had more time...
My 7700K is delidded and already in place (so far tested at 5Ghz, no throttling according to FS but low scores)
When i replaced the CPU ... the resolution changed and had to reinstall the chipset drivers in order to fix it, but still have suspicion i will have to reinstall the whole windows as both the CPU and GPU behave odd.
Had a small accident delidding with razor blade (see photos) ... I made a huge scratch on it, but luckily it runs great (it seems i got it right inbetween the miniature lanes). I lived 1 month in fear of the worst :) And before i did i delided old cpu for 4 bux with no problem. I have absolutely no idea how this happened and it has happened in the easiest portion of the IHS.
Please don't use razer to delid (there are some pretty delid tools out there).

    http://imgur.com/cnBkiB7
    http://imgur.com/CunRAAg
    http://imgur.com/Xuvbqau

and the GPU chip (after 2 months with TGC). In the picture you can see where the heat spreader makes the greatest contact.
    http://imgur.com/nBJKqct

P.S. I intended to use delid die guard ... however it is not compatible with Z170 chipset ... I don't know why i was thinking it will be compatible...

Haha best of luck to you sir, I'm actually rooting for someone to surpass me, lost the will to spend my time overclocking, more gaming now, so the sooner someone beats me the better. What voltage or offset are you using for the 5Ghz if you don't mind me asking?

    There it is! 17,014 @ 265/530 - 5.1 GHz

Pretty sure this is my absolute max without unlocked vbios. 266 on core crashes and I can go +10 on the memory but scores don't increase, also cant seem to get my CPU running at 5.2GHz for long without it "Power Limit Throttling". I still feel accomplished though haha.

I assume most people have pointed it out, but since 7700K and 6700K are literally better processors with higher OC from stock to potential OC, and benches do rely on CPU scores for the overall score, it will be difficult for any non desktop i7 to compete in CPU score :)

That being said, this is my oldish score with 6820HK @ 4.3ghz and GPU apparently at 2.1ghz GTX1080 with a score of 18948

To increase the number of people to want/learn about OC'ing, I'm going to add an HK section to the Leaderboard. That way I can see you and @Phoenix battle it out ;)

Yes, but not a good difference. That driver is too buggy for me. I stopped using it on this machine and the P870 because older drivers are better.

The 1080 in the Tornado F5 pulled 221W on that run and the overall system draw per my Cyberpower UPS was 360W.

Hey, I got the new BPX on RMA and the controller chip on it is made different. The old one looked like a baby CPU or GPU with a bare die in the center. This new one is all black and looks more like a RAM chip, similar to the Samsung 960 controller. Taking the M.2 with Linux out of the Tornado F5 and I am going to clean install W10 to it and see if the problems I had before are gone now. I know you and @D2 Ultima were wanting to know how it turned out. Will find out this weekend. Crossing my fingers.

    Wow....you make me proud!
2800Mhz is that core clock for the GTX 1080?!!!

And did you use an undervolt for GPU with AC cooling? I know you told me you have custom vbios so is that what are you having as 2.8Ghz OC?

I am glad to make you proud, bro. The core clock for that benchmark is set to boost to 2100MHz. The memory is GDDR5X so that is 8*1400 (11200MHz or 11.2GHz). No, I do not undervolt. I need to be able to overvolt the GPU to push it harder.
