The "crash" from DOTA was always proceeded by a freeze in game. Then I would be forced to either use the task manager to close DOTA or restart the computer by holding down the power button. I have now done a clean install of my Nvidia 326.80 driver, and the crashes have gotten worse. I haven't gotten any "Nvidia Kernel Mode Driver version 320.49 has stopped responding and recovered successfully." errors, but I do get the BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL very frequently, sometimes right as I log into my pc. Using event viewer I have found this error "The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device ACPI\KB9XRADIOBTN\5&39e10e87&0." I'm not sure which driver this is or how to check the integrity of my other drivers.

Check your EC version if there is an update available. And Radio Switch software is the failed driver.

    Good to know :)
Now i managed to configure properly the EFI boot for Mac OSX, i have the boot menu on UEFI mode for both Windows 8.1 and Mac OSX 10.8.5 and both of them are working flawlessly so far.
I created the topic on 2 different hackintoshing forum so that we don't keep poluting this one with mac stuff:

MSI GT70-1763 Barebone (Maybe applicable to GT70-2OD and GT60-2OD)

[Guide] ML 10.8.5 on Msi Barebone 1763-001 (780m GTX version)-GT70-2OD and GT60-2OD should work as well - Installation Guides - InsanelyMac Forum

I suspect the last one to be more active in the following months, the guide is maybe a little complicated for Hackintosh begginers (i felt too lazy to make a step-by-step) but once i have more time i will update it in an easier way and include all my files.

P.S: I also ordered a EP-N8508 USB WIFI adapter, pretty cheap (7$) and comes with OSX/Windows drivers, once i receive them i will report back.

So according to LiveUpdate my EC/BIOS is up to date. I unstalled my radio switch driver and installed the latest from MSI. However I'm still having issues. On login I receive this Microsot.net framework error
See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

I still can't play DOTA 2 or any game for that matter without a freeze or a BSOD crash. I received a Event 41 Kernel Power error in my event viewer and it looks like I still had a failure of my radio switch driver after I reinstalled it. Can someone fill me in as to how I can properly install a clean radio switch driver? Also if it's my EC or BIOS thats corrupt, I have no idea how to update that without LiveUpdate doing it for me.

    Thanks for all the help

It might be that the hardware might have a defect. It is not normal to have so many issues even with different drivers, and the problem seems to have worsen. Maybe setup the laptop for RMA? Contact your reseller to see what can be done about it.

To users running GT60 (3rd gen) or 16F3 barebones and you want to upgrade to the 780M you will want to run bios version 10p (non raid) or 30p (raid) to ensure stability. Other versions will cause crashes.

This is radio button driver in Windows 8, to turn off wifi and bluetooth together..
There is no driver for this device in Windows 7 though ( i have no idea which windows you are using )

about IRQL less or equal, i saw somewhere its one of the memory sticks at fault
Try removing 1 by 1? Radio button has no link with BSOD

If you are on Windows 8, you can download the driver for Radio Button.

Hi again fellow members, so far I am enjoy the performance of my MSI GT70 Barebones Laptop, it is doing sooo darn well and when I tried out Online gaming...it...killed my happy streak. I have a Killer Wireless-N 1103 with 3rd Antenna and well, it isn't performing well online, it actually has major connection drops in online gaming, downloads, or even watching youtube. I used the latest drivers in their website but it doesn't even fix it well. I also see forums of this connection drop problems and I heard older drivers can fix these connection drop issues. If they do perform better as they say, I wish to download them (particularly 6.1.0.183), but I can't find them unfortunately (I only find the Dell versions and those only work on Dell or Alienware PC). Does anyone know where I can find the older drivers?

    UPDATE:

I found 6.1.0.183 driver, but it ended up preventing me from browsing the internet, only bookmarked websites I can enter, everything else doesn't even bother loading it just stays on the Firefox home page.

*sigh* I'm now stuck with this darn network card that doesn't even perform right :(

Yes they don't get on with certain routers it seems.

An intel 7260 is fairly cheap from ebay.

now when it comes for a replacement...what should i choose:

    Intel® Dual Band Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250
    or

Try this one for win 7:

Drivers for Atheros AR9380 and Windows 7

This will require a manual install, so uninstall your killer drivers first, then when you install these drivers use the have disk and point the folder that has the extracted inf's from the aove download.

Hey guys, I hate to be the noob and ask something that has probably been answered. I've been looking all over, but haven't really found anything specific. I have a 16F4 with 780m and 4800mq. While I have the notebook plugged into the wall I get terrible temperatures in the 90s. While unplugged everything is fantastic at like 60 degrees. I imagine this is due to throttling of the CPU because in 3dmark I show lower boost of 3.4ghz unplugged and 3.69ghz plugged in. Is throttle stop my only option? I've also read about a Dell power supply, and possibly unlocked bios. I'm really not concerned with overclocking and everything, I just don't want to melt my new computer that gets me through boring nights on the road. Thanks in advance!

Has anyone with a 16f3 experienced with their laptop not turning on because of the hard drive bay near the video card? The issue first happened on my laptop a few weeks ago. When i moved the my hdd to the bay below the hand rest it finally turned on but im having bsods so i initially thought it was the hdd. I bought an ssd and installed it on the bay near the gpu and all was okay until now when the same issue happened again the laptop wont turn on. I moved the ssd to bay 2 and it booted up.

What could be causing this issue? Will replacing the hdd module fix this?

thanks for the help, but unfortunately I am still getting Connection Drops. -_-
it feels like replacing its default was a big mistake.

Well, I guess I'll have to choose a new Wireless Adapter. So what will it be?

    Intel® Dual Band Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250
    or
    Intel® Dual Band Ultimate-N 6300

BTW where is the Wireless Adapter located on the FORCE 1763 (MSI GT70 Barebones)?

Sounds like you just need to clean your system/repaste. The reason you're not seeing those higher temps when not plugged in because the system automatically throttles down due to the battery not being able to provide enough wattage, so a new PSU nor a new BIOS would not really help in my opinion.

Derek, first day I installed, I scraped off the original thermal compound and replaced it with antec nano diamond. I re-ran tests and still ran high temps. It scores really well, but I'm just not willing to run the fan on turbo every time I play while plugged in. Here is a link to my scores
with this test I ran max GPU temp of 93* and mac CPu of 96*, very similar scores with GPU max temp of 73* and CPU 76* with the turbo fan on. I don't mind the turbo fan being on while I'm out of town but my wife isn't down for me to have this turbo fan on in the bedroom while she sleeps lol.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4800MQ, MS-16F4

could it be that my processor isn't properly termal throttling because of windows 7? I refuse to go to windows 8, even though I know the bios and everything weren't designed for win7.

What are your ambient temps? You are definitely running hotter than the average user here with paste jobs. Benches rarely get me at 70s degrees unless prolonged testing, and only games ever reach 90s mostly on the GPU and not so much for CPU. I do recommend considering repastin the unit. The Processor won't thermally throttle until it needs to which might keep you in high temps while using it.

Ambient temps are normal (~72*F). I'm wondering if I went lean on the paste, or over tightened and squirted all the paste out. I will clean it again and repaste sometime today I have some work I need to get done first :/

Another thing I noticed. My Crucial memory is only showing 800MHz in 3dmark, but it's supposed to be 1600MHz, am I missing something?

72F is a very good ambient temp, definitely consider repasting then because you should have a bit lower temps. Something around 85+/- for CPU or even lower when gaming, and even lower when running a simple test benchmark.

Memory shows as 800mhz because it is a double data rate memory, so it is in reality 800mhz times 2, thus 1600mhz.

Cleaned and repasted ...seem to be stuck with 91* on the GPU and 94* on the CPU as being the lowest. When I game I get to 93* on the GPU...I even moved my memory to under the keyboard to maybe mitigate any transient heat from the memory. I think my only options are to undervolt (which I don't have the bios to do so) or game with the turbo fan on :/

Bumping my post as it doesn't seem to get noticed. What I mean with the hdd module above is the hard disk extension board near the video card. Please see link below from rkcomputer.

    MSI Genuine GT60, MS-16F3, MS-16F32, MS-16F33, MS-16F391 Hard Drive 2 Extension Board 607-16F3C-01S

Can this board cause some sort of grounding that prevented the laptop from turning on? Will replacing that board resolve the issue?

If the GPU is properly inserted it can't touch and the heatsink posts prevent it from touching that PCB.

Try to see if it is recognized in the system first, right click on PC -> Manage -> Disk Management and see if your external HDD is displayed.

Have you tried testing any other USB devices to ensure the USB is working at all? Some drives are just not compatible for one reason or other, but verifying the USB works in the first place would be the best step.

Maybe you can try the older 3.2 Intel XTU to undervolt the CPU slightly. That should at least help a bit. Maybe also add a cooling pad so that when gaming at least it won't get as hot.

Is it a 3.5 inch hard drive? Does it requite external power from the enclosure? Does it work with any other laptop/computer? Have you tried a different USB cable?

Try plugging in a USB mouse or thumb drive to it. Or any other USB device really. It's best to start at the beginning and verify the ports are actually working.

I see one of your HDDs without a letter (disk1) if this is your external, try to right click then assign a new letter.

I've seen some laptop external enclosure (hard drive case) not compatible with some laptops.

you can try update the USB driver here:

    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22824

If still doesn't work take out the drive and put it on a different enclosure it will work.

What are the odds we will get a part number for a replacement screen for the 3k edition, and we can replace our 16f4 panel with the 3k?

None since it requires a different motherboard and display cable.
