Actually i did, there are 4 jacks but one is for input (mic) and one which is for speakers/simple headset.. i actually had no idea about other 2 that is the reason i said single output jack. So those other two are related to multiple jacks then
    Thank you for information

I'm planning to upgrade my 16F3's GPU, but I was wondering if anybody managed to get a 7970m working with a modded heatsink and no enduro? I would go through the modding as the difference between a 7970m card and a 680m is like $150 for little to no performance improvement.

Also, will a Dell's K3000m fit? I found one for a pretty good price so I could take that into consideration if it's compatible.

only the chinese managed it, but the bios is not released, so long story short you can't, the K3000m is a quadro card which is not optimised for gaming and thus performs even worse than slowest card the GT60 offers in games, which is the 670M, which is not classified as an upgrade so I'll just skip the compatibility question(because I do not know if it will work)

your hardware id is exactly the same as mine so use the touchpad driver directly from MSI GT70(fit your windows version)

I see. Although I do need the laptop for more than just gaming, the 7970m seemed the optimal choice for an upgrade. The K3000m will do me good on my 3D work, but apparently it performs on par with the 660m in most games.. Not the best combination for the money really.

I'm willing to experiment with my laptop and see if I can actually get a 7970m to work on it somhow, I will have quite a long vacation to spend so it might be worth it. The 7970m heatsink modification thread seems like a good place to start.

The best of lucks mate. I heard the main issue was enduro itself, as it was not bios coded to work with 16F3. If you make it work, it will be awesome :D

hi mates, i've seen the new official lineup and suddenly felt in love with GE40 new model! the question is if someone knows if there will be an upcoming 14" barebone in the air, it would be great for light weight and portability, now i'm travelling a lot for work and my gx660 is so heavy including the bag and the psu brick....good news please!

barebones should arrive shortly if not exactly the same time as the branded version

however I'm more interested on the GS70.... despite its size I think it will still do good on a lap for long sessions, barebones version is questionable though, aluminum built barebones are..... lets just say it could be the first entry to the market

P.S. take note on the GE40, its got gtx760m whilst GS70 is with gtx765m, aluminum build and thinner

look at first post, it collects some useful info and links, you can compare your hardware configuration with the "official" msi models to download the correct drivers, there's not a suite so you have to download each single driver

go to the official site, look for the model that has the exact GPU as yours, there you will find driver downloads for windows 8 or non-windows 8
depending on your OS, and also you can only use the drivers and utilities on that page but not bios and firmware

this should solve all your questions, and if you dare "wonder" what the official site is, I hope no one will provide further instructions to you since you are of no hope at using google

Captmario - general rule of thumb is that chipset driver should be installed first. From there, the order is a bit nebulous and somewhat up to personal preference.

am still waiting for 1762 compatibility reports with the 780m, problem is if its an optimus issue, BIOS issue or driver issue..... however from where I've seen on tech forum it looks like its only the nv drivers which are causing the problem but nothing more

Yeah I was a bit disappointed in the barebones prices. I was thinking about getting a barebone but now I think I'll just get the branded one since it's not much more and has more features.

the fact that they're not priced so differently, GT70 has the super raid 2, and 1763 has the super raid 1 makes the GT70 a better deal.... if you want more SSD storage, and have the money

How to you finally fix this issue, I also have a touchpad that is showing up as ACPI/PNP0F03 and only can get basic functionality out of the GT70 driver that is on the website. How did you get the multitouch and other functionality to eventually work?

    thanks

So, curious, anybody played with the new 780m barebones yet? Very interested in the 15" version, but not a whole lot of info out there on these that I can find. Was curious if it included the new heat sink and how temps were running.

Great, look forward to reading your thoughts! Did you go with the 16F4 or the 1763? From everything I can tell the size is the only significant difference, so leaning towards the 15" because I do move my laptop around between home, work, and occasional trips. Only thing I can't really figure out is how the PSU comes in to play when OCing, as I assume the barebones share the same "NOS" system.

So I assume that means it will be capable of using more than the stock PSU? My concern was that it was input limited to 180W with the "NOS" system, and anything past that regardless of PSU possible output would use battery...

The new Hybrid power needs to be enabled before the machine can use it. I have hopes for a higher PSU to be added without issues to maybe skip NOS if possible. Using it, however, has hardly reduced the battery life of my machine so far. Even after an hour of gaming, it seems I only dropped like 5% of my battery. I will be testing this further.

Thanks for the info! Seriously considering picking one up. Will be curious to read when someone tries a higher output brick. You mentioned a minor drop in battery while gaming for an hour, I assume this is only when overclocked or will the stock Boost do this as well? Still trying to understand the NOS system for long term use.

You are welcome! Yeah it is while overclocked to 980mhz core /3000mhz memory. If you don't enable Hybrid power, it seems the GPU can only get up to 920/3000 on its own, or 980/2800. I gamed with those combinations for a while without using hybrid power. Normal clocks are 850/2500 due to turboboost.

Well, any overclock will most likely require turbofan. With turbofan, even the extremely hot Anand unit was working easily.

Meaker is good with hardware, and I am sure some tweaking like our units with repaste will handle the overclocks well :D Mine handles with stock voltage, gaming at 980/2900 memory :)

The new models have the improved heatsinks and a fan that's twice as powerful as the old models.

One word of warning, currently the non extreme CPUs can not be overclocked using their partial unlocks :( The 4930MX works but it refuses to set the higher multipliers on the non extreme models (which is a shame as the 4900MQ would go to 4.2ghz on all 4 cores).
