Look up model number 59375627, you will find that it comes with both an ultrabay blueray drive and an ultrabay 750m. This is not something that is found on the Lenovo website and is sold out most everywhere that carried it (I was able to find one retailer that had it in stock, but that was mostly luck).

    EDIT:

And, yes, I know that SLI and the Blue-Ray Drive cannot be used at once - still, the fact that the bundle includes both is a major plus as that saves me having to buy an optical drive (the version also has the 4700 and not the 4702, so that's another nice feature).

I already learned the hard way not to use zippered cases, mine has some small abrasion marks near the bottom grille from the bundled lenovo case :/

You can download it. Not from Microsoft anymore, unfortunately though. Just make sure you download the basic version and not pro

Hello, does anybody know when Y510p's will be available in European shops? It has been a month or so and I still can't find a shop which would sell this model. Although, if anybody knows an online shop which sells this model, could anybody give me the link to it?

Look around online for the Model #59375627 version, it's sold out almost everywhere that carried it but I was able to find a New York Retailer that still had one in stock (I think I got the last one too, as it went to 'out of stock' right after I ordered).

I did find it on Frys but it is out of my price range. I'm closing in on a buy but am stuck between one or the other..

    Untitled.jpg

$849.99 is such an incredible deal and I will be adding RAM and an SSD in the future so that's why it is in the mix.

I'd go with the Y510P, if only because they're, if I understand correctly, opening the computer up a bit more (allowing you to do things such as running the Intel chipset).

On the website near the top you will see a "Solutions" tab. Hover over that and click on students. Then enter the state and school to get reduced pricing.

I think we all get pretty fast cold boots times here with our laptops, but has anyone encountered really slow warm boots? Mine takes almost two minutes. Not from driver updates or anything, just a simple restart...

Yea, i got a few slow boots from after installing software that modifies the Windows Core and Boot files, you have to wait for those newly updated files to be cached.

It's something you will have to deal with, and is common with all Disk-Caching solutions, im afraid. Best thing to do would be to upgrade to full SSD storage, at the cost of storage space.

Only for better battery life/a faster micro SSD that is harder to replace/5% power boost.

Personally, if you are getting a Single-GPU model, go for the Y510p, as it has optimus technology, otherwise get a Y500 to save costs.

Does anyone have some info on how to do a clean install. I have created a new DVD with the PID file i need to get the install to start, then the installer keeps saying I need a driver installed, but It's not the HD driver as I can browse the hard drive for drivers. Any thoughts on what driver it would be looking for. I get the driver missing message on a DVD and a USB install. I'm trying to install Window 8 Enterprise Edition.
