Yes, but the only models they have available on their website now are the glossy ones. You can't get the anti-glare ones from Lenovo.com at the moment.
I'm calling BS on that one.

After how many days, they decided to type an email to ppl who got the dual graphics card version...

HELLO, this is at the bottom of the website....
"Availability: Offers, prices, specifications and availability may change without notice. Lenovo will contact you and cancel your order if the product becomes unavailable or if there was a pricing or typographic error."

If they don't give at least some cashback for customers, they will seriously be looking at a continuous lawsuit just because of this product line...

I don't understand why they're changing everything so frequently. This is pathetic. They should have had everything ready to go and setup.
And when on the lenovo site, there is no indication of SLI cards ANYWHERE. WHY IS THIS SUCH A HASSLE?

When did you get the email? I have not received anything from them. In any case, Lenovo has proven itself a company with very low ethical standard.

This doesn't specifically have to do with the Y510p itself, but maybe someone can help me here...
I started my Y510p not long ago, and it said it was "Diagnosing you PC", then "Preparing Automatic Repair". Eventually it came to "Automatic repair couldn't repair your pc" and had "Log file C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt".
This has never happened to me before. I've been struggling to find out what's wrong and finding any methods to fix it. Would anyone happen to know what's wrong? All help would be greatly appreciated.

You can override battery saving features and drain the battery if you want. With sli disabled and single card you should get 30 minutes or so depending on settings.

This is sad on lenovo's part. Y510P is a good laptop with some minor flaws as reported with heat. But heat issues are very common with gaming laptops and are to be expected within limits. But lenovo mishandling of orders is redicious. Your killing a great product by being stupid.

    Examples.
    1. Shipping people the wrong graphic cards. Do not try to order a ultrabay GT 750m you will most likely get a GT 650m. 2. Shipping people a different processor then what's ordered is inexcusable.
    3. Not listing ram correctly get DDR3 or DDRL3 depending on whatever they feel like using that day.
    4. Website is terrible. Can't stress this enough terrible on item descriptions.

Well at least they acknowledge they run a shabby operation and will refund you lol.

Can you post into Bios? Even if they changed out the cpu it still should be supported by the bios firmware . Windows has nothing to do with the cpu change.

Does the Y510p use the same power supply as the Y500? Ie., 120w for the single gpu systems and 170w for the SLI? There might be correlation between the systems that ships with DDR3 or DDRL3. Some of the seasoned Y500 owners will tell you that the PS is not putting out enough power for overclocked systems. Myself, I took that advice and went for a 240w Dell Alienware PS instead of the 170w Lenovo one. So, it could be another band-aid solution to another issue. Instead of putting in a stronger PS, they put in the 4702 and DDRL3 to lower the power requirement of the system. Just a theory.

Well RAM already uses very little power anyway relative to the other system components. The CPU change was probably so they could avoid a redesign of the cooling system so that a standard voltage i7 could actually do normal tasks (read: gaming) without overheating. The cooling system in this thing is honestly the worst I've ever encountered in a so-called performance or gaming notebook. I think Lenovo are just a bunch of screwballs who can't get anything right with this machine.

So I got mah laptop today and it seems to be running without a hitch! The only problem I ran into was my fault; when I tried to run a very hd texture pack on minecraft which required me to give minecraft access to more ram than it normally used, and when I allowed it to use like 12 gb of ram, it spiked immediately and crashed the video card XD
Silly me, I'll leave that texture pack alone from now in. Minecraft doesn't use SLI so running shader mods is pretty much impossible, but stuff like CS:GO that do use both graphics cards run beautifully!

If you guys want me to benchmark it or check specs something I can do that. I'm not willing to open it or do a battery killer test though =P
I can confirm that mine is matte/anti-glare and has a 4702. I'll probably ask them for some cash back rather than a replacement, since I love it so much now haha.

U r one of the lucky ones lol some of us, cant turn on their laptop on first go, some have dead pixels, ya, i think some cash back would be nice at this stage, as this laptop is pretty good, with that price, but they really need to sort out their website and drivers, at the moment WIDI does is not supported, HD4600 sitting there for 0 use,

"Diagnosing you PC", "Preparing Automatic Repair", "Automatic repair couldn't repair your pc" and had a "Log file C:\WINDOWS\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"?

I had to download a copy. You have to use a torrent unfortunately because Microsoft removed their download links. The product key is baked into the bios so all you have to do is install. Hopefully the drivers are still on the other partition

email i got from lenovo today
    "
    Dear Valued Customer,

We thank you for your recent purchase of your Lenovo Y510P (59370006). Unfortunately, there was a description error with your processor. The processor was listed as a 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ Processor (2.42Ghz), but your system was shipped with the 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4702MQ Processor (2.22Ghz).

We apologize for this error and wanted to specify the differences between the two.

Generation Intel Core i7-4702MQ Processor (2.22Ghz) has lower power consumption (37W) versus 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4700MQ (Processor (2.42Ghz) we show on site (47W).

    a. This allows for increased battery life
    b. This also makes the system cooler
    c. Less Fan Noise
    d. While the speed is 200Mhz lower with minor sacrifice in processing power

Our website has been corrected and updated to reflect the correct specifications for each system. Again we apologize for this inconvenience and wanted to extend our 30 days No Questions Asked Return Policy to 60 days. During this period you are welcome to return your system for a refund or a replacement for a different system.

If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to call and speak with one of our Lenovo Customer Support Reps @1-855-2-LENOVO Option #2, Option 1, or email us at [email protected].

We thank you for your patience,

delivery was for 3 day select signature included. UPS left at my door step. got 4702 and not 4700. windows 8 can't boot because it's missing boot files. tried one touch recovery to no avail. tried to boot from USB to no avail.

    it's over.

Was it as good for you as it was for her?

I've decided to go with a Sager NP7352 from Xoticpc. Single GPU for more stability, correct CPU, VERY upgradable with 2 HDD or SDD slots, as well as an mSATA slot, and from what i've read, much better customer support. Very similar if not cheaper price too.

    Oh, and no lies!

Sorry to hear man. I pretty much wiped mine out of the box, although it was picky about which USB devices it would boot from (spent an hour trying to get one flash drive to boot, but on inputting an old SD card with ubuntu, the darn thing started right up. One different flash drive later I was good to go)

so. that put me off. i know it's not the reps fault. they need to follow protocol. so my beef is with lenovo. they royally f-ed me in the on this one.

not going to purchase any lenovo products again.

i returned my full order. laptop, case, and mouse.

put and hold 1 finger on trackpad, with a different finger slide left or right. It still sucks
I got y510p from newegg and pretty happy with everything but the trackpad design (it's not skipping, i dont like how dragging/scrolling and clicking works).
Which bechmark do you guys use? I ran 3dmark11 but im getting 3 scores for 3 tests, and not 1 in 5000 range.

Instead of scrolling down action do the scrolling up action with two fingers, win8 stuff touch optimized; there are settings in the touchpad options to turn off reverse scroll, look for them, I havent received mine so i cant really tell you the exact steps.

But it should be something like this:
    Touchpad options>scrollng>turn off reverse scroll

Okay for all of those who have returned or are now undecided here's a list of very good alternatives.
    1. Sager np8230 (no illuminated keyboard) 0r np8250 very power powerful but meh design. Both are thicker and slightly heavier but more powerful then the Y510p.
    2. Toshiba Qosmio x70 at 17.3 you get a bigger screen a thin profile for this size and the gtx 770m. Weight 7.6 pds
    3. Msi GE60 it is slighter lighter. Okay design. Like the back plate of the lcd. Also you get the gtx 765m.
4 Asus hasn't release to many models yet but always put out good stuff.

I encourage anyone looking for gaming performance to go with the gtx 770m on whatever manufacturer you choose.

Doesn't seem like the Sager or MSI can be had for >$1100 unless I'm missing something? Since they gave us 60 days to return the Y510 because of the processor screw up I'm trying to weigh my options, however I don't think I'll find something better for the $1K I paid for this thing.

How big is the difference between the 2 processors. I'm looking at a MSI GE60 2oe and the differences are a 770m graphics card, a 750gb 7200rpm hard drive and a 120 gb ssd and a better wireless card for 1446$. The thing is I lose lenovos best warranty and I don't know if i need the onsite 3 year for college or not. So I could upgrade to the MSI but i would lose the warranty but gain all those amazing pros. What do you guys think, I really need help on this decision and I just want your guyses input. Is the battery life longer on the GE60?

Most definitely is more powerful. The gtx 770m is about 90% more powerful then the gtx 765m. While the gtx 780m is 40% more powerful then the gtx 770m. The gtx 770m is the most bang for your dollar.

Can anyone take a screenshot of the SouthBridge data for Y510 as reported by AIDA?

Sample screenshot attached of what I'm interested.

    Thanks.

The nice part about sager is you can upgrade the gpu later with no extra cooling. So if in a year, you want more power, just purchase the gtx 780 and swap it with your 770
